00:00leadership is vital and the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association is showing
00:04it understands this. As such it hosted a 2D mentorship workshop called a step
00:09forward in governance and leadership at the Hilton Hotel. TTFU president
00:14Kiron Edwards welcomed the workshop and spoke about its benefits. I think risk
00:19assessment is a major thing that I would have taken away from this program
00:24understanding risk not just understanding the risk but putting
00:28programs and mitigations in place for if circumstances happen. Ensuring that we
00:35have monthly assessment of all our risks in TTFU with financial, organizational and so
00:41it's important in terms of risk assessment so that's my biggest
00:44takeaway to ensure that the TTFU is managed and run efficiently so we don't
00:50end up in a situation that we end up in to bring normalization in the first
00:54place and it's really about the risk for the TTFU so for me that was the biggest
00:59takeaway. Of course facilitator Horace Reed also touched on the importance of
01:03the workshop for the new TTFU leadership. It's an important exercise for a new
01:10board, new council with a lot of persons coming out of different parts of the
01:17football family but we have also we have to be clear in terms of where we're
01:24coming from, where we are and where we want to go so the mission really is to
01:30bring new information, best practices if you may, on leadership, governance,
01:36administration. There's a focus on ethics, integrity but it's really to share best
01:43practices with the members of the TTFU council and provide some level of
01:52support as we go along.
