00:00Later this week, I'm actually scheduled to have a meeting with the Prime Minister.
00:04One of the areas that we are going to be working on is the matter of flights to the island.
00:12I was at Piako two or three weeks ago, and I got there in the morning,
00:20and there was a long line of diaspora people with their suitcases.
00:26They came off that early morning JetBlue flight,
00:32and they were just there waiting on standby trying to get to Tobago.
00:37Mr. Augustine spoke during a town hall meeting on Monday
00:40at Medgar Evers College, Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, New York,
00:45under the theme Bridging the Diaspora.
00:48So that's one of the areas that we are trying to work on to increase the flight load
00:53between both islands and the accessibility,
00:55but also the direct flights to Tobago.
00:59Because if you don't have to go to another destination to come off a plane,
01:04then to take a flight back to Tobago, that makes it even better.
01:07So we're also working on the increasing direct flights
01:10and other major centers where diaspora people are,
01:15particularly Miami and Toronto, as well as New York.
01:21The chief secretary said the long-standing issue of land titles
01:25will also be discussed with the prime minister.
01:28In terms of land title issue, that too is actually one of the agenda items
01:35for the meeting with the prime minister.
01:36Because we don't have the power to pass legislation in Tobago,
01:40we have never had the issue resolved.
01:43Other Cayman Islands just got to the parliament, passed the law and fixed the issue.
01:47And it's too long now.
01:49And it's one of the reasons why I did not support the property tax.
01:52Because I made it clear to me,
01:54I shouldn't pay tax to land the car getting the name.
01:56Augustine said after 63 years,
01:59the parliament had failed Tobago on the land titles issue.

02:06The end of the year,
