00:00 Congratulations to FEMCO.
00:06 The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association
00:10 held its President's Dinner and Awards function on Tuesday night.
00:14 The time has come for us to build
00:17 an international convention center in Trinidad
00:21 and Tobago.
00:27 The TTMA's President used the occasion to say
00:30 the Association is prepared for a public-private partnership
00:34 to make it happen.
00:36 The Minister of Trade was present to hear that appeal.
00:39 She urged businesses trying to grow
00:41 to boost supply chain resilience and deepen regional supply chains.
00:46 We must put some attention on regional integration
00:49 through improved transportation and logistical networks.
00:52 We've been trying to get into Curacao.
00:54 The only way we can do that is an improved transportation network.
00:58 And those are the kinds of discussions
01:00 that we are having in the background to get
01:02 into those types of markets.
01:04 The feature speaker on the night, the founder and CEO of 10 to 1 Rum,
01:09 challenged business operators to think about manufacturing
01:13 as an extension of TNT's culture, resources, and resourcefulness.
01:18 It's in our DNA and in our collective consciousness as a people.
01:24 And I do believe that beginning to unapologetically harness
01:28 this truth as we seek to enter untapped global markets
01:32 could well be the catalyst of a new era of prosperity for us as a country.
