There was protest action outside the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre, on Monday afternoon.

As hotel workers put down their bedside manners and picked up placards.

They were joined by officials from the Communication Workers Union.

00:10by officials from the Communication Workers Union. Union officials say talks
00:16are ongoing over wage increases for the period 2019 to 2024. However, workers are
00:23not happy with the offer being made by the hotel's management.
00:53And we are not willing to sacrifice basic things of cost of living allowance
00:58from $170 to a mere $164 and the company is trying to pressure us to take $162 on a
01:05cola which has been frozen for some years.
01:08TB6 tried contacting the hotel's management for a response. However, we
01:13were told to call back on Tuesday during regular business hours.
