00:00The current water treatment plant did go out of production today at noon.
00:06As planned, this was done to facilitate maintenance works on our system,
00:12as well as to replace our transformer at our water treatment plant
00:16and to install flow meters on our transmission systems.
00:21The planned shutdown, which started at noon on Friday,
00:24is expected to benefit consumers in the coming weeks.
00:28And as previously promised, the inconvenience will only last two days.
00:32We anticipate the works to be completed by Sunday
00:37noon with the supply being restored at that time.
00:41As the shutdown was planned to do critical maintenance,
00:44authorities took a decision to make use of downtime to conduct
00:48ancillary works along the Karani North and South Transmission Pipeline network.
00:54When the supply is returned, we anticipate 24 to 48 hours before the supply stabilizes.
01:01However, we anticipate that our customers on the extremities may
01:05take a bit longer to receive a supply.
01:07People with water tanks were implored to fill in advance,
01:11and WASA has increased staff at the call center
01:15and a struck-borne fleet to augment supply to those without.
01:18During this period, we expect some level of shortcomings or shortfalls,
01:24as such, we would have expanded our truck-borne supply,
01:28especially to the customers who are affected by the shutdown.
01:31I'd also like to impress upon our customers to continue to conserve.
01:35You can request the truck-borne service through WASA's service app,
01:38which can be downloaded from the Play Store or the Apple Store,
01:42or you can use the authority's website to make your request.
01:46For any further information or assistance, consumers are asked to contact
01:51the Customer Call Center toll-free at 800-4420 or 800-4426.
