00:00Prime Minister Stuart Young says the murder that occurred at the Pianku International Airport this morning
00:06should not affect foreigners coming to this country.
00:09He was responding to a question from TV6 News after he toured the new Sangre Grandi Hospital campus this afternoon.
00:18What would be your message to foreigners and those from Trinidad and Tobago using the airport,
00:23either travelling to or from Pianku, given what happened today
00:27and the assurances in terms of security arrangements?
00:31Well, I mean, I don't think this should affect at all tourists or foreigners coming to visit Trinidad and Tobago.
00:37As I say, it is a very, very unfortunate incident that should shake up any law-abiding citizen in Trinidad and Tobago.
00:47The authorities are aware of it. I know that they are taking a look at security arrangements.
00:52And as I say, unfortunately, this has become something that takes place not only here in Trinidad and Tobago,
00:59but across the world.
01:02The Prime Minister said it is his understanding that there may be results in the investigation into the murder very, very soon.
01:09What happened is completely unacceptable.
01:15The first thing when the news came to me is I got on to the Minister of National Security.
01:20I have been provided through him with a report by the Trinidad and Tobago police service.
01:25This is something that is being taken very, very seriously, as it should, by the law enforcement authorities.
01:31We have asked them to assess the type of security arrangements.
01:35But also, my understanding is that there is an active investigation that may see some results very, very soon.
01:43What we've also seen with some of the other genius acts that you've referred to are, again, unacceptable.
01:50Unfortunately, this has become part of the landscape in Trinidad and Tobago.
01:54So, my understanding is that there is an active investigation that may be found in Trinidad and Tobago.
