MSJ Political leader David Abdulah has congratulated Venezuelan president Nicholas Maduro on his victory in last Sunday's presidential election.


Abdulah is condemning the U-S and Right Wing narrative that the election was rigged.

00:00The Movement for Social Justice has congratulated President Nicolas Maduro, the PSUV and the
00:06Venezuelan people on the outcome of the presidential election.
00:10The MSG says it had two representatives in the South American country to observe the
00:15proceedings.
00:16Based upon the feedback that we got as well from our election observers who were present
00:21in Venezuela, that the polling stations that they would have visited and observed exactly
00:28what was taking place at each polling station that they visited and they reported that polling
00:34was very peaceful, people lined up quietly, you know, and cast their ballots and then
00:42left the polling station area.
00:44There was no sign of any intimidation.
00:47On July 28th, more than 12 million Venezuelans went to the polls and when the results were
00:53counted, President Maduro was re-elected for another six-year term from 2025 to 2031.
01:02In its Tuesday talks program, political leader of the MSG David Abdullah says his party has
01:07no doubt the election was free and fair.
01:11Among those who cast ballots were several hundred Venezuelans resident in TNT.
01:16Mr. Abdullah condemned what he termed right-wing and the U.S. agenda to subvert the democratic
01:23will of the people.
01:24But the United States government, historically over the years, over 200 years since the Mandela
01:31period, has absolutely no moral authority to talk about democracy, the rule of law,
01:39respect for the rights of people and the will, majority will.
01:43They have absolutely no moral authority because their actions in Latin America, and even gone
01:48to Africa.
01:49We could talk about the deposition of Patrice Lumumba, democratically elected in the Congo,
01:56was deposed, assassinated, brutally tortured and murdered and so on by the Belgians, supported
02:01by the United States.
02:03Abdullah says within the past few years, the economic standing of Venezuela has improved.
02:08In the last two to three years, the situation in Venezuela was turned around very significantly.
02:15Even the IMF and World Bank projected that there would be growth in the last year, this
02:20year, of more than 4%, which would have been the highest growth rates in terms of the economy
02:26of any country in Latin America.
02:27The United Socialist Party of Venezuela obtained 51.2% of the votes cast, while the main opposition
02:34candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, got 44.2%.
