Front stalling out over the Southeast, bringing days of thunderstorms

Thunderstorms are set to bring welcome drought relief to the mid-Atlantic and Southeast over the second half of this week, but it will come at the risk of flash flooding.

00:00Stormy zone here Thursday into Friday and here's the key. The front is stalling

00:05out so it's not going to be moving north, not budging south, just staying put and

00:09along that, along with daytime humidity, we're still drawing our winds up from

00:13the Gulf of Mexico. We're going to be developing thunderstorms and these can

00:18produce high rainfall rates where there can be instances of flash flooding. At

00:22the same time, we'll also have some drought relief. That drier air primarily

00:26is going to be shifting to the south here toward Interstate 64 and that's

00:31about as far south as it is going to make it. So again, as we look our way into

00:36Thursday, yet again Nashville mid 80s. I know we're down below the historical

00:39average, but there will be quite a bit of humidity, hence the wet weather around

00:43Orlando mid 90s on tap where there can be some showers and thunderstorms and

00:47even some potency to these thunderstorms here too on Thursday. Beyond the flash

00:52flooding, there could also be damaging winds and some of these can top 55

00:56if not even 60 and a 65 MPH. So definitely a day to be weather aware,
