00:00Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. A bit of a mishmash
00:04through the course of the weekend but I think many places will have a lot of dry
00:07weather and many of us will see at least some sunshine. We do have to talk about
00:11low pressure however, not just one but two actually. This massive cloud up to
00:16the north of Scotland and then there's another one out in the Atlantic. This one
00:20is slowly trudging towards the UK but notice the ice bars fairly spaced out.
00:24This one further north has been a fairly potent feature and has brought quite a
00:29bit of wet and windy weather already across Scotland and still bringing
00:32plenty of showers into the Highlands and the Northern Isles and the Western
00:36Isles through the day. The showers a bit more scattered further south but we'll
00:39see some zipping through across southern Scotland, northern England and Northern
00:43Ireland. Much of the south though dry and fine out there this afternoon. Quite a
00:47bit of cloud at times but some sunny spells. The winds easing off so mostly
00:51light winds across the south. Feeling okay in the sunny spells 21 maybe 22 or
00:5623 where we see some lengthy spells of sunshine but temperatures further north
01:00close to or below average and feeling cooler when you add those winds on and
01:04still quite blustery well into the afternoon and evening across the far
01:08north of Scotland. Still plenty of showers to come in here through the
01:11evening too but they should steadily fade. For most it'll be a dry evening but
01:15it isn't one of those balmy summer evenings. It will be on the cool side and
01:19then by morning that next air of low pressure just edging into the west. So
01:23quite a lot of cloud developing across Wales, parts of Northern Ireland and
01:27Northwest England. With the clearer skies ahead of that cloud moving in
01:31temperatures could drop down to single figures for a time. On to the details
01:36then for Saturday and as I said it's a bit of a mixed picture. Plenty of sunshine
01:40I suspect across East Anglia and the southeast. A brighter day for southern
01:44Scotland and not as many showers across northern Scotland although still there
01:48will be one or two. A duller day though for Northwest England, North and West
01:52Wales. Quite a lot of thick cloud here, drizzly damp conditions, rain on and off.
01:58A bit of showery rain could jump over the Pennines into northeast England and
02:02so we could see a bit of rain at times for South Wales and maybe even the odd
02:06shower in the southwest. But I suspect most of the south will stay dry hanging
02:10on to sunny spells across the southeast. A bright fine day for much of Northern
02:14Ireland as well once we lose any early cloud. Still a bit of a breeze in the
02:19northwest but generally those winds will be pretty light for most of us and
02:23as a result with a bit of sunshine in the southeast 24-25 degrees. That'll feel
02:28pretty warm whereas it will be a cooler feeling day with this cloudier zone
02:32across central parts. Quite a warm and humid evening to come though across the
02:37southwest and as we go through the night still some of this rain and drizzle
02:41across West Wales, Northwest England but it will start to edge further south and
02:46still a few more showers to come across the Highlands. Some clearer spells
02:50developing elsewhere. That low-pressure system that moves in is kind of just
02:54fizzling out as we go through Saturday night but it will just eke its way
02:59further south into Sunday making for a duller start across East Anglia and the
03:04southeast and the possibility of one or two showers here. Still one or two showers
03:09across northern Scotland as well but I suspect many places dry. The main
03:13exception will be Shetland where cloud and rain will persist through Sunday.
03:16Much of the country though looking fine on Sunday. Yes quite a bit of cloud
03:20round but we should see some spells of sunshine coming through and temperatures
03:24no one near as high as they were earlier in the week around or a touch below
03:29average for most through Sunday and we'll continue with that mixed pattern
03:34as we go well into next week as well. For more on that make sure you stay up
