Miss Grand International 2024 Trinidad and Tobago delegate Kristina James is making a name for herself at the international leg of the beauty pageant taking place in Thailand.


She has secured two titles so far in competitions leading up to the finals.

00:14Undeniably talented, Christina James, age 25, is no stranger to the stage.
00:20According to her biography on the Miss Grand International pageant website,
00:24she is a musician, songwriter, and an award-winning singer,
00:28trained in different genres in six different languages.
00:31Now, James is making her mark on the MGI stage in Thailand,
00:35flying the Trinidad and Tobago flag high.
00:38It's a call and it's a rocket, hallelujah
00:45Her Instagram profile indicates that she has copped the titles of Miss Grand Voice 2024 and Miss Congeniality 2024.
00:53Kerry Goberdan, head of marketing and public relations for local franchise holder Stolen Productions Ltd, says
00:59James was selected on July 14th after a screening process that lasted six months.
01:06What stood out to us was her physical attributes, her vocal capabilities,
01:11and her tenacity and ability to perform and her resilience to stand out and give her best.
01:21He tells us this year SPL, for the first time, took a decision to partner with its Filipino counterparts
01:27to get James prepped, a process which lasted a month.
01:30A small team of designers and artists who catered to everything from her training,
01:40her vocal coaching, her walks, her photoshoot, hair, makeup, and of course her wardrobe and styling.
01:48She also traveled to Cambodia for pre-pageant activities.
01:52The MGI pageant shot into the local spotlight in 2023,
01:56when Venezuelan national Milady Maturano was chosen as TNT's delegate,
02:01spawning a wave of backlash for SPL.
02:04Maturano eventually stepped down and with only a few days to the international competition,
02:09first runner-up Rebecca Hislop represented the country.
02:13This year, SPL notes the success James has had so far.
02:17Miss Christina James has been performing really well.
02:20She has been in the top three in the talent competition
02:24and she did very well in the national costume competition,
02:30for which we'd like to thank the country for their tremendous outpouring of love and support.
02:35The finals of the MGI pageant are set to take place on October 25th
02:40and SPL hopes that TNT would stand behind its 2024 delegate as she vies for the crown.
