00:11 Yes, obviously you've had quite a successful winter in South Africa.
00:15 How's it been for you the winter? Are you coming in with your form of fitness?
00:18 Yes, I've been busy. I've obviously played a little bit this winter.
00:22 I've obviously played the Big Bash and then in Dubai and then in South Africa.
00:26 So, yeah, a lot of cricket but it's always good to play in the winter.
00:29 Yes, do you feel like that kind of form has set you up for the start of English County Cricket?
00:34 I think what's gone has gone now. You can't look at what you've done.
00:38 Pre-season has gone okay but hopefully get to Durham and do well.
00:44 Yes, so this week, obviously the last two years in a row you've come third.
00:49 You've been challenging all the way but then obviously sorry two years in a row.
00:52 Are they still the main team to beat? Obviously they've added this year.
00:55 Do you think they're the main challenge?
00:57 Yes, I think they're the favourites.
00:59 Also, I think the division this year is going to be a lot stronger than what it has probably over the last couple of years.
01:04 Obviously, Durham are a really good team. Essex are always up there.
01:08 I think Lancashire are going to be good this year as well, obviously with Nathan Lyon.
01:11 So, yes, the division looks good but as I said, we've played some good cricket over the years as well.
01:15 So, hopefully if we can turn a few of those losses into the odd draw or two, that will potentially make us win it.
01:22 Yes, I see. A couple of fine margins maybe over the last couple of years to turn those draws into wins.
01:27 But is that one of the things you're looking at in terms of looking at the last couple of years
01:31 while you haven't taken that next step or taken the Championship?
01:34 I think it's purely that. I think it's those losses that we have.
01:38 If we turn those into draws then you lose two less games, you get a couple more draws
01:42 and that puts you very close to winning it because we win as many games as teams that win it.
01:48 Surrey have in the past. So, yes, I think that's a big thing as a group.
01:52 Not lose as many games in those games if we do draw.
01:56 The last few years have been really consistent on all formats, challenging.
01:59 Last year, obviously, Paul and Sean just got all three but again, getting close.
02:04 Is there any particular format that you prefer or is it the main aim or is it trying to go all out?
02:11 Yes, I think when you play at a club like Hampshire, you want to compete in all three formats.
02:14 You want to win all three formats. There's no certain competition that we target.
02:19 We talk every season about competing and trying to win all three.
02:22 We have a squad to do it and I think over the last maybe five years,
02:26 we've probably been one of the most consistent teams in the country to compete in all formats
02:30 and put ourselves in positions to win things.
02:33 So, that's a real positive of the club and that's something that this club will continue to do.
02:37 What's the mood like in the dressing room? Does it feel different than every year
02:41 or is it together you're challenging and hungry for the season?
02:44 Yes, exactly the same. Pre-season is always an exciting time with the season coming up.
02:48 We know that next week we go to Durham and start the first game.
02:52 So, everyone's really excited for that. Everyone this time of year is confident
02:55 and hopefully we can all have a good season and enjoy each other's success.
