00:22Colby Bishop's form problems, Conor Chaplin being so ineffective on the right
00:29and clearly Pompey aren't getting the best out of him.
00:34It was changed today with Mackenzie Kirk there as well, with Bishop there.
00:40He had a decent enough game, but unfortunately, it was the crucial moment for Pompey.
00:46Their best scoring chance of the game, he missed, didn't he?
00:50It was from Murphy's wonderful cross, so there's so much to talk about this game.
00:56Obviously, I'll be writing my verdict later on, addressing some of these issues.
01:00First of all, Josh Murphy, how wonderful it is to see him back, isn't he?
01:06Wow, absolutely outstanding.
01:08I spoke to him afterwards. It was his third touch, actually.
01:12Third touch of his comeback. He put that wonderful cross in from the left, didn't he?
01:16And it should have been a goal. Wow. Mackenzie Kirk.
01:20I've not seen replays yet, but five or six yards out, it looked like at the time.
01:24Just the keeper to beat, on a plate, and he hit it straight at the keeper.
01:29And I just read on Twitter, actually, some chap was moaning that he thought Kirk was the man of the match.
01:35You can't give Kirk man of the match when he's missed Pompey's best chance like that.
01:40I'm sorry, you can't. But he had a decent enough game, didn't he, really?
01:44He ran the channels well. He put himself about some great commitment.
01:48I remember there was one moment in the second half when he dived in, didn't he?
01:51And he wanted to tackle on the defender on the byline to win a corner.
01:54And he turned around and gied at the crowd and all sorts.
01:58So there were good moments for him, actually.
02:01And he was offside a few times in the first half, three at least.
02:04But I don't mind that because he was trying to do something different,
02:07playing the shoulder, running the channels, getting involved that way.
02:11So I don't mind that at all.
02:13So he had a decent game, but I'm sorry, you can't give him man of the match
02:18when that great opportunity, the best opportunity of the game for Pompey,
02:23he missed and it was nil-nil.
02:25And two minutes later, unfortunately, Hayden Matthews with the own goal.
02:30And it was, again, it was awful, wasn't it, really?
02:33I want to see a replay back.
02:35I've not seen one, but the ball was put in
02:38and there was no one near him with his height as well.
02:41He should be dealing, though, with that.
02:43And it looked like it skimmed off the top of his head into the far corner of the net.
02:46And the poor lad went off a cramp afterwards, straight away afterwards as well.
02:50So it was a mistake that gave the game to Stoke.
02:53Pompey could have been 1-0 up, or should have been 1-0 up.
02:57And two minutes later, it's 1-0 down.
03:00And quite frankly, Pompey never reacted to that, did they?
03:05Pompey never looked like scoring after that whatsoever,
03:09which should be crystallised for her as well.
03:12It wasn't a very good game. It was an awful first half, really, wasn't it?
03:17It was a tight match.
03:18Awful first half when Pompey barely could keep possession of the ball.
03:21Stoke were the ones that were going to go up the gears, weren't they?
03:25The second half, Pompey actually played better second half, didn't they?
03:27They started really, really strongly second half.
03:29Definitely deserved something from that period.
03:32But they weren't at it. It wasn't a great game.
03:36And again, I'll go back to what I started this interview from.
03:39The question about Colby Bishop now has gone nine games without scoring.
03:44Oh, he must be so frustrated, that ball that Murphy put in.
03:49He wasn't on the end of it.
03:51But yeah, so nine games without scoring for Colby Bishop.
03:54Again, Conor Chaplin.
03:56It doesn't work on the right, does it, really?
03:58You're asking Conor Chaplin to come back and defend and go wide on the right
04:03or whatever, inverted or whatever.
04:05It's just not working, is it?
04:07It's not getting the best out of a very talented striker
04:10who's made his reputation as a number 10 operating
04:15or operating off the striker as well.
04:17And today would have been the ideal moment to put him in for that.
04:20And instead, you see any side is there with Bishop and Kirk up front there.
04:24So, yeah, just disappointing, frustrating day, isn't it, really?
04:30Pompey weren't dreadful, they weren't battered,
04:33they weren't outplayed throughout the game.
04:36They had a strong second half.
04:37But everything comes down to that Mackenzie Kirk miss.
04:41And then obviously Hayden Matthews' mistake two minutes later.
04:46And the match is settled, isn't it?
04:48So, yeah, hugely, hugely frustrating day for Pompey.
04:52That's two defeats in a row against two sides looking to get promotion.
04:55Today was far closer than Coventry.
04:57I don't think Pompey deserved anything from Coventry.
04:59Pompey deserved a point today.
05:01It should have been a win, really, shouldn't it, really?
05:04You go 1-0 up against Stoke with, what, 90 minutes to go,
05:09that gives you the opportunity.
05:11So, yeah, really frustrating day for everybody
05:14and a few boos as well at the final whistle.
05:17So, yeah, Birmingham way next.
