00:00welcome to the petersfield bookshop to start back it was during covid in 2020 a couple of
00:24the neighbours in sandy close got together um i just remember in lockdown there wasn't much going
00:30on so we started a halloween um little walk from the front of our gardens um just to bring the kids
00:36around bring the community together because no one's been around with each other for for a while
00:41um so we've done that for a couple of years just in our front garden we had a you know a few people
00:46not a lot um in 2023 we came to the petersfield bookshop where john allowed us to use his bookshop
00:56as a scaretacular and it's literally just grown legs from there onwards i mean the space and
01:02the bookshop itself and how john is it's just been absolutely amazing last year we had just over 900
01:10people come through the bookshop um it was over two nights the halloween eve and halloween night but
01:16900 people for the local community it was so good um this year we're trying and pretty much we really
01:23do hope that we can get over a thousand people and last year we kind of amalgamated the scares and the
01:29non-scares in into three four hours that we've done um we did realize i mean we was having queues
01:35of about 40 50 people so um to kind of stop that this year we're doing non-scares from half past
01:42three in the afternoon till half past five um then it would give us half an hour to get the props ready
01:48get everything ready for the scares that would be from six o'clock to half past eight kids as kids is
01:53the non-scare um where we tried to make it work for each scares last year non-scares and the scares
02:02hopefully with the non-scares you know there's not going to be a lot of scary products a lot of scary
02:08animations um so it'll be fun for the kids to walk through we're going to do a kind of search for the
02:15little kids as well so they can have um a little drawing of some items that we want them to go around
02:21and have a look at and it'll just be ticking off um so it'll just make it more enjoyable for them
02:27instead of just a few pops props hanging around and then when it comes to six o'clock it's just
02:32going to be flat out scaring for everyone so you will need a spare pair of pants

02:39go on then you've got to go around oh don't just go around that way you've got to go in front
02:45i have to go in front yeah okay it's brilliant honestly it's absolutely brilliant because
02:50you see kids coming out and they have a smile on their face and that that lights you up that's
02:54brilliant but you also get that from adults and that's even better because you know for for an
03:00adult entertainment's going out for a beer or whatever but seeing them laugh and smiling with
03:05the kids with their family it's it's really touching it is it's a it's a community thing
03:09and that's what we enjoy bringing people together
