00:00 You're segwaying me right into the NIL, which I think is really important because we talked
00:06 about new revenue.
00:07 So, look, a lot of stakeholders, we got collectives, obviously the teams, the leagues, the NCAA
00:15 such as it is wherever we are in that process, sponsors/corporations that might be interested
00:20 in doing this deal.
00:21 And so Gervon Dexter, who may be a name in the future that becomes a pioneer for NIL
00:28 NFL rookie, Florida Gator.
00:30 You see the lawsuit that he filed against the NIL collective group, Big League Advanced
00:35 Fund 2, Gator Group.
00:37 That'll be maybe the first of many.
00:39 It's a wild west.
00:41 We could also lump the transfer portal in if you combine both of those.
00:45 Some would say it looks like professional athletics all over again.
00:48 But give me your sense of where you think NIL is today from your perspective, not only
00:54 for football/basketball, but for all the other Olympic sports for you.
00:57 Well, it's very early in the era of NIL.
01:01 And I know it feels like, you know, maybe dog years, if you will, but we're really only
01:05 a couple of years in and only a couple of cycles in.
01:08 And I know it's a dramatic shift.
01:11 And so many of us are feeling, you know, feeling it day to day.
01:15 But I think it needs to have an opportunity to air out a little bit and let's see where
01:21 some of these deals go.
01:22 I would like to see some greater transparency.
01:25 I would like to see some guardrails and protections for the student athletes.
01:30 I think the NCAA, as you know, is, you know, leading an effort to try to work on that,
01:36 both with Congress, but also within what they can control within their own governance policies.
01:41 And you know, what I appreciate is I think it's been a long time coming, but our student
01:46 athletes are having a greater and greater voice in this process.
01:49 We are learning directly from their experiences.
01:53 You know, some of them are having a great experience with NIL and have an opportunity
01:59 to learn how to be entrepreneurs and continue maybe their collegiate enrollment and their
02:05 collegiate competitive careers a little bit longer than they would have if they didn't
02:11 have the opportunity to earn some of that outside income.
02:14 And so I think there are some benefits here.
02:17 You know, we get caught up in talking about how difficult it is to navigate this space,
02:22 but there are definitely some early advantages.
02:24 And you asked me earlier about Olympic sports.
02:26 Let's not forget some of our top earners are actually female athletes and athletes in those
02:31 Olympic sports.
