It's been ten years since her high school graduation and Megan Burch (Keira Knightley) still hasn't found her calling in life. She's still hanging out with the same circle of friends in her native Seattle, working as a fill in 'sign twirler' advertising her father's (Jeff Garlin) accounting firm, and living with Anthony Milton (Mark Webber), the boyfriend she first dated in high school.

But it's an unexpected marriage proposal from Anthony that sends Megan into a panic about her future. Postponing their elopement to attend an out of town self-improvement seminar - or so she tells her unsuspecting fiance - we instead find Megan hanging out with her new, 16-year-old friend Annika (Chloe Grace Moretz) and her high school buddies who she meets in a chance encounter before eventually taking refuge in Annika's home.

When Megan's relationship with Annika's father (Sam Rockwell) extends beyond its initial platonic boundaries, however, Megan must finally take control of her life and for the first time navigate her own future.

A bittersweet coming of age story, SAY WHEN explores an idiosyncratic if all too familiar world in which you're never too old to grow up.
