00:00Hey Serge welcome back to the Brits. Thanks. What's it like to be here in
00:04Manchester? Yeah good, it's a good town, give it a bit more energy. You can hear I
00:11feel like it's way more raucous already which needs a bit of an injection of the
00:17unknown. It feels like Manchester is like the right place to bring it as
00:22well. You can feel the energy in the room. This venue is mad as well, it's so good.
00:28This venue. So who is nominated tonight? Who you're a fan of? Do you know what? I
00:35met a few of the Wolf Ellis lot and they've made a great album. So I'll be
00:43rooting for them today. Yeah, they're lovely, nice and you know, Soph is a good
00:50tune. I really like that tune. So is there anyone here who you want to catch up with?
00:55Go up and say hi. We've got some very big names. Noel's here. I'm going to, a friend's
01:00DJing after Mike Pickering. So Noel's here. So the Manchester Massive are out in force.
01:06So I'd like to see them. And Kalb's here as well. So we'll probably get, you know, talk about what
01:13we're
01:13going to do in the summer. So you mentioned Noel. Did you go to the Oasis reunion shows?
01:18Yes, yes. Yeah. I went to the first and the last. So I went to Cardiff and Wembley, yeah.
01:24Did it meet expectations? Yeah, it was unbelievable. Yeah.
01:27I feel like the showmanship was on top form there. It's hard not to feel inspired by it,
01:32I guess. Definitely. I went to see, I went to see Oasis. I went to see Radiohead. And last
01:42night I went to see Fred again. And all three shows, for their own reasons, were magnificent.
01:50So in my mind now, I'm thinking for the summer, the combination of those three shows is where
01:56we're heading. So imagine those three shows melted into something new. That's where we're heading.
02:03And we recently saw you work with Calvin Harris as well, which is like a unique match made in
02:09heaven. Did you find it melded together really? Yeah, it was so good. Like, um, yeah, Calvin's
02:16just, he's just like, he just knows like sonically, just, just from a like geek out mix point of
02:23view for me as a producer. Just like, I don't know how he gets it so loud. I don't know
02:28how
02:28he gets to kick drums to sound the way he does. And, um, yeah, I mean, it just, it just,
02:34it just bangs hard. And like I said, again, in the, in the set, it's going to go.
02:39Yeah. Is that more the sound we can expect in act three?
02:45No, no, no, no, no. That's a, that's a definite, like, that's just the sort of adventure, you
02:51know, that's just an exploration into some mad world. Act three's, um, act three's rooted
02:58in guitars. It's a very much a guitar album. I sort of fell back in love. I'd never really
03:03been out of love with it, but I just found myself drawn to the guitar a lot, a lot more
03:08on this album. And you've also worked with Thomas from Manuskin as well. Yeah. I bet
03:13that kind of helped with that. Yeah. Yeah. That was good. He's wild. He's a wild character.
03:18I love him. You know what I mean? And he's, he's the real deal. Like he turns up in the
03:22studio, like, like a rock star from the seventies, you know what I mean? So he lives it, he lives
03:27and breathes it. He's super talented and, um, he's a fellow Italian. So he's, he's, he's
03:33on, he's, he's great. And, um, and that tune's great as well. I mean, one day we'll do
03:37it live. We'll get together and hit it somewhere. Would you ever entertain a side project with
03:44him or with other artists? Maybe, yeah. I mean, like the SLP, I'll, I'll visit again
03:50at some point, but the exciting thing about that is it can be anything, whatever. So when
03:55the time is right. And finally, so we've got the Finsbury Park gig coming up, which is a
04:01huge milestone. Yeah. What's it like to see Kasabian after years together going from height
04:06to height and stroke to stroke still? No, it's great. It's great. Um, it's mad when
04:13you sort of stick around for so long, like you sort of get to see, you sort of get to
04:18see
04:18it happen again. It's strange. Like the crowds, we've got this sort of originals, but now we've
04:24got a whole new sort of fan base that I've only just recently got into the band. So, so
04:30the energy is like even, it's mad because you get the, obviously the, the true heads,
04:35but then now we've got this like injection of chaos, which, which anything neat, you know,
04:41it's great when that happens. So yeah. So who knows? There's no ceiling on where it can go.
