00:00Tim Burgess welcome to the Brits good to see you what's it like to be here it's
00:05great it's great yeah not been here long but it's fantastic so you've got the big
00:13job tonight of doing the introduction for the in memoriam which is a very
00:17powerful but very emotional thing how do you feel about taking that on well I'm
00:25feeling pretty good about it I'm not really saying anything people don't
00:28already know I think it's important to recognize Mani I mean his legacy is in
00:37the songs but it's great to be able to do that here and Mani I feel like a lot of
00:45people are still coming to terms with the news you don't realize how many lives he
00:49touched until you see people reaching out why do you reckon it is that he
00:53resonated with so many music fans and musicians the records that he played on
01:04inspired generations so that's you know it's the records they played on this is
01:16very few and far between and and I think that we should all sort of cherish the
01:24thought that you know we shared the same timeline his personality was something in
01:35itself there's so many iconic moments it was always kind of there you know it's
01:40like you know an unexpected text or you know you would chopper a gig unannounced
01:49and it just be like you're right so we've recently seen you revisit the
01:54Charlotteson's debut album what's it like looking back so many years down the line I
01:58don't know I mean it's just like there seems to be a lot of like reissues coming
02:03out the Charlotteson's and Sun Friendly has been reimagined the album the artwork's been
02:08reimagined and it looks gorgeous you know so I'm really proud of that record and it
02:15sounds amazing because you know it's been remastered and stuff like that so I'm very happy
02:20and speaking of new music we saw you join forces with Deb Hines yes what was it
02:25like working with him well with we are love working with Deb was great it was
02:33like you know he was someone we wanted to work with for a while we sort of crossed
02:39paths throughout the years I first saw him at the old blue last and playing with
02:44Florence he was the machine Florence was singing he was on the drums and just
02:52bumped into him throughout throughout the years you know and I didn't realize he
02:56was such a big fan we were fans of his and he was a big fan of ours so it
03:01just
03:02seems to sort of like click into place it's one of those things that might not
03:07have worked but it really did at what point were you working with him and you
03:12realized okay we've got something good here well it's just like the kind of like
03:16the arrangements really you know I mean I think Charleston's tend to write songs
03:22kind of in a similar way you know it's like what we do and he liked that and wanted to
03:28bring that's right they like what I say they you know so he really wanted us to be you know
03:39to
03:41he wanted us to be more like us so it's that oh that's easy hey and what do you
03:49have coming up next in 2026 I'm saying you've got big talk coming up right yeah
03:53well we've got talk coming up we did it so in November or December and then we're
04:00doing another one in April May in the UK and then we're going abroad all over the world
04:10like déserts and now I'm versed me out all over the world in May 17 nations
04:10let me hear that
