00:00Hey, Deb, welcome to the Brits. What's it like to be here?
00:03Thank you, thank you. Yeah, it's pretty mad, you know.
00:07Tell me a bit about the response to Essex Honey.
00:10So it seems like everyone is singing the praises for the album.
00:14What's it like to see that?
00:14That's very, very kind of you to say, yeah.
00:18Yeah, it seems people are kind of into it.
00:22You never know, I hadn't put anything out in about seven years or something.
00:26And so you have no idea what's going to happen and I don't know.
00:31It sounds like a little boring, but I try and just do what feels good
00:38and put it out when I feel like it's time for it to kind of escape me.
00:43And so I just went along with that and my thoughts and feelings at the time.
00:48And yeah, you know, the fact that people have been listening
00:52and been coming to the shows has been very nice.
00:56Yeah.
00:58And you did get some incredible collaborations along the way as well.
01:02Oh yeah, yeah, some mad ones on there.
01:03One that really stood out was Lorde. What was it like working with her?
01:07With who, sorry?
01:08With Lorde.
01:08Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. It was great. She's the best.
01:12She's a dear friend of mine and, you know, we live pretty close to each other in New York
01:16and we were both working on our albums at the same time.
01:20And so it was very easy. Like I did a little bit on hers, she did a little bit on
01:24mine.
01:25It was just very smooth and casual, but I was so honoured that she put vocals down on it
01:33because, yeah, I think she doesn't really do that that often also.
01:36So I feel very lucky.
01:40Did you find that you had similar writing styles or even just like approach to recording?
01:47I think, yeah, maybe. I mean, not so much like in the technicalities of how we write,
01:56but I do think we're both people that occupy the space of thinking a lot, you know,
02:04and like taking in the world and thinking about it a lot.
02:08But then when it's time, when we actually decide it's time to make music, it's quite loose.
02:14Yeah.
02:14Very, very open.
02:17And I think we're quite similar in those regards, you know.
02:21Sorry, someone's pointing at me.
02:24So tell me, tell me if I say this right, is it Test Icicles?
02:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:29Thank you, because my boss just wrote down Testicles.
02:31No, no, it's Test Icicles.
02:33Shout out the enemy, they gave us our first cover.
02:36Well, I was going to ask you, is Test Icicles thinking of doing maybe a comeback at any point?
02:42Man, I mean, I would love that in my life.
02:46I'm always trying to like excavate from the past, so possibly, you know, you never know.
02:52And to go further down memory lane, we've also got Lightspeed Champion.
02:57Yes, yes.
02:57Considering maybe an anniversary tour for that?
03:01Well, the thing is, it was also a solo project.
03:04So it's essentially Blood Orange is an extension of it.
03:07But I mean, maybe I should play those songs again, you know, you never know.
03:12Might.
03:12Yeah.
03:13And you've got a big 2026 coming up.
03:15You've got Rally Festival.
03:17Yeah, Rally's going to be great.
03:17Tell me a bit about that and what fans can expect.
03:19It's going to be so good.
03:20And the lineup is amazing.
03:22I like helped out like finding artists to play it.
03:26But yeah, no, it's going to be great.
03:28I'm excited.
03:29It's also like the last stop on this tour, basically.
03:32So I'm going to end it in London.
03:34It's going to be very fun.
03:35Yeah, thank you so much.
03:37Yeah, thank you.
03:37Really appreciate it.
03:38Appreciate it.
