00:00The fans are going wild. It's Bonk's. Yeah, all these people I recognise. It's crazy. It feels so fancy.
00:09So you've got the Writing Star Award, which you joined a list of incredible names like Adele and The Last
00:17Dinner Party and Sam Smith and Bones the Machine.
00:21When did you find out that you got the award and what's your response?
00:25You know, it's a funny story. I was actually looking for a vape adapter in Govan in Glasgow and I
00:34was feeling really defeated because I didn't find it.
00:37And I was on the way to get the subway back home. I was passing Ibrox Stadium and I just
00:43heard like,
00:45and then this tsunami of Rangers fans was pouring out and I was like, shit, I've got to run.
00:52And so I had to run and catch the subway just before I was crammed in with them.
00:58And as I was running, my manager called me and was like, you've got a break, by the way.
01:03And I was like, oh, that's great. Call you back in five. So that was it.
01:07Okay. So we were just saying the album is incredibly vulnerable, incredibly passionate, and it does say a lot about
01:15you.
01:16What was it like to put it out there and see such a massive response?
01:21It's pretty indescribable. I mean, when you're making something that you don't think about, like, who's going to listen to
01:31it?
01:31Or maybe you do, but not, couldn't have possibly thought that, you know, it'd take me on this journey.
01:37And I'm really glad that it has because I've connected with so many people that have changed my life in
01:43reflection.
01:44They've given me a piece of them in what this means to them.
01:47And I hold that so dearly and I want to take care of that.
01:51And, yeah, going into making something new now, like, it's a different place to create from because now I know
02:01what's out there.
02:02I'm trying not to let it get in the way of, you know, what I know, but it's shown me
02:09that this is important and this can make a difference.
02:12And I'm really lucky to be able to do it.
02:17And you must be feeling such joy, not only the love for the album and the recognition of the Brits.
02:22Do you reckon we can see that trickle through into the next batch of music?
02:27Or do you try to keep that sort of stuff?
02:29Yeah, yeah, who knows? Like, maybe, maybe, maybe I'll just be, like, super arrogant and, like, I'm a winner, I'm
02:37a winner, chicken, chicken dinner.
02:38Like, that'll be my next single. We'll see. We'll have to see.
02:42Yeah, see you going punk. Why not?
02:44I'm going punk.
02:45Introduce people to folk. Yeah, let's go for it.
02:48And now I'm English, apparently, so.
02:50Oh, welcome in.
02:53Hey, thank you so much.
02:54It was so nice to meet you.
