Sports: Reimagined - What If Aaron Boone Never Hit A Walk-Off In Game 7 Of The 2003 ALCS?

To be honest, as much as the Aaron Boone home run crushed my soul at the time, I wouldn't take it back. I wouldn't.

Without that home run, maybe Grady Little keeps his job and Terry Francona never happens. If you're to believe the stories, then the decision to fire Little was made by ownership the second that he didn't take Pedro out of the game in Game 7, but who's to say that decision would've been upheld once cooler heads prevailed.

I'll tell ya what, though. If that home run never happens, then the Red Sox aren't nearly as motivated to go all in the following winter, and maybe they don't nut up to trade for Curt Schilling, sign Keith Foulke, and attempt to trade for A-Rod. Boston's failure to acquire A-Rod landed the reigning MVP in pinstripes, and the rest, they say, is history. All of those things changed the course of baseball history forever. It lit a fire under Boston's ass to win in 2004. Schilling already retweeted this video today and said the Red Sox don't win in 2004 if Boone never hits this home run, and I believe that.
