00:00Good morning and welcome to the Suzuki Press Conference.
00:04Joining us as MC is former teammate of Suzuki legend Barry Sheen
00:09and highly respected professional UK racer Steve Parrish.
00:16Good morning everyone. Bongiorno. Lovely to see you here.
00:21Well, welcome to the 2026 Suzuki Press Conference.
00:25It's always a great honour and a pleasure for me to host this event once again.
00:30So now to kick things off, please let me introduce the president of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Mr. Toshiro Suzuki.
00:37Toshiro-san, good morning to you.
00:40Thank you.
00:45Good morning everyone. I'm Toshiro Suzuki.
00:49Thank you for joining our press conference today.
00:53At the beginning of last year, we announced Suzuki's new slogan, By Your Side.
01:03We carefully reviewed many ideas submitted from around the world before choosing this slogan.
01:14This slogan, By Your Side, expresses in simple words our mission statement and philosophy of conduct that guide our actions.
01:28The spirit of By Your Side has been part of Suzuki since the very beginning of our history.
01:39Our founder, Michio Suzuki, deeply valued his mother, his family, his neighbours and his community.
01:50This spirit helped Suzuki grow from a small company founded in 1909 into the company we are today.
02:02Every day, we receive valuable feedback and suggestions from our customers, dealers, distributors and other stakeholders.
02:20Suzuki will continue to stand by our stakeholders and work closely with local communities so that we can grow together.
02:36Thanks to daily efforts of everyone involved in our business, our motorcycle sales have grown this year in Europe and
02:50around the world.
02:52In Europe, our sales volume grew by 43% for the period from January through August this year, compared with
03:04the same period last year.
03:07Globally, our total sales volume also increased by 8% over the same period last year.
03:16This year, we reached major production milestone.
03:24Cumulative production of Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs reached 100 million units in July this year.
03:37The history of Suzuki Motorcycle began in 1952 with Power Free.
03:47It features a ground-breaking mechanism that allows easy switching between pedal operation and engine drive by attaching an engine
04:01to a bicycle.
04:02In addition, Suzuki launched the world's first four-wheeled ATV called LT125 in 1982.
04:16We have developed and sold numerous models over the past 74 years.
04:25Taking this opportunity, we would like to thank all our customers, dealers, and business partners.
04:37Suzuki remains fully committed to the motorcycle and ATV markets.
04:45The new models we have launched over the past six years demonstrate our commitment.
04:54We will continue this positive momentum.
05:00To achieve carbon neutrality, we continue to follow a multi-passway approach.
05:08For battery electric two-wheel models, we launched our first overseas electric scooter, the E-Access, in India early this
05:22year.
05:24For BV automobiles, we started sales of B-segment SUV, the E-Vital, in Europe last year.
05:35We will also start sales of the E-Sky in Japan this month in Keika segment.
05:44In addition to our BV's development, we are exploring a range of other solutions, including E-fuels, hydrogen engines, bio
06:00fuel models,
06:02better fuel efficiency for motorcycles with internal combustion engines.
06:10We are also exploring greater use of biogas to compress natural gas and compress biogas vehicles.
06:22We have just opened the third biogas plant in India in August this year.
06:29We have already announced plans to build a total of nine biogas plants in India.
06:40These plants do much more than simply produce CBG.
06:46We purchased cow dung from local communities.
06:52The residue generated during the production process can be used as organic fertilizer, helping to improve the soil and support
07:05crops' growth.
07:06The initiative also makes a meaningful contribution to local communities and economy.
07:17This is exactly the kind of business we value at Suzuki, grow together with the communities around us.
07:31Now, let me talk about our carbon neutral challenge, GSX-R.
07:40This year, this was our third year competing in the Suzuki 8 Awards race.
07:48The team successfully managed the race, with our experiment carbon neutral bike competing against 49 conventional racing bikes and finishing
08:04a record high, 7th overall.
08:09The team's success should not be measured only by the racing result.
08:17Their technical achievements throughout the years also represent a major step forward in Suzuki's journey toward carbon neutrality.
08:30Some of these achievements are being reflected into product development for both at Suzuki and our business plan partners.
08:44The members of the team are all Suzuki employees from various divisions.
08:53The team activity could also make the individual members grow in the team's Suzuki atmosphere.
09:03There is more.
09:06The carbon neutral team received the Lehmann Suzuki positive award, which was the award for the best sustainability activity in
09:21the racing field.
09:23We would like to thank Suzuki circuit and the automobile club Dolores in Lehmann for such an honorable award.
09:36We would like to thank all the supporters, business partners, and parts manufacturers, who helped with the carbon neutral challenge
09:51project.
09:54Finally, I would like to repeat one important message guided by the spirit of our slogan,
10:08By your side, we will keep growing our motorcycle and ATV business so that we can better meet our customers'
10:22needs.
10:22And bring greater happiness to everyone who owns and enjoys Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs.
10:37Thank you for your attention.
10:40Thank you, Toshihiro-san.
10:43Thank you.
10:44Well, that was a clear and positive message and it's nice to see Suzuki looking after our atmosphere.
10:49Right now, please welcome Mr. Takahiko Hashimoto, Senior Managing Officer.
10:55Good morning, sir.
10:57Very pleased to see you.
10:58Thank you, Toshihiro-san.
10:58Thank you.
10:59Good morning.
11:00Good morning.
11:01Good morning.
11:02I am Hashimoto.
11:04I am very pleased to have the opportunity to speak with you here in Milan.
11:12I'd like to share with you the appeal of the new GSXR1000R, not only from an engineering perspective, but also
11:23from the viewpoint of production technology.
11:27Today, what I especially want to convey to you is the advanced precision design and the production technology that enable
11:40us to deliver these products to our customers.
11:44We call this Made in Japan or Engineered in Suzuki, Japan.
11:53In a word, the GSXRs incorporates all the technical feedback we have gained from the racing field, especially from the
12:05World Endurance Championship.
12:09It has already received high praise from the market, the media, the ending tuners, and many others.
12:19It is truly a product we are proud to call Made in Japan and Engineered in Suzuki, Japan.
12:29From an engineering standpoint, as you may know, we have made improvements even to the main internal engine components, which
12:43are not allowed to be changed in racing.
12:46The pistons have been made lighter, and the connecting rods, camshaft, and crankshaft have all been further strengthened for durability
13:00and reliability.
13:01In particular, the pistons are Suzuki's original forged products, offering the highest strength and durability at high RPM.
13:16Next, I would like to introduce two examples of the production process made in Japan, Hamamatsu.
13:25The first is about the precision of the engine cylinder boards.
13:32To maximize output, all four cylinders are finished to an extremely precise roundness.
13:41The key to achieving this precision was finding the optimal platting solution formula, balancing adhesion and hardness from among millions
13:54of possible combinations.
13:56The second example is the crankshaft.
14:00For heavy components like the crankshaft, mechanical friction loss can occur due to vibration and oscillating with other parts, which
14:13leads to decrease in engine output.
14:16To minimize this loss, our production team has developed an optimized method for the direction and speed of journal polishing,
14:30as well as the polishing film used.
14:34As a result, the journal surface is finished to a mirror-like smoothness, achieving extremely smooth engine rotation.
14:48Thanks to these efforts by our engineers and production team, efforts that are usually hidden from Vue.GSSR has received
15:00high prize from customers all over the world.
15:05Professional riders have also loaded the engine for its low vibration and its ability to rev freely from low to
15:15high RPMs.
15:18If you have never ridden a GSX-R, I encourage you to experience its performance, whether on a circuit or
15:29winding roads.
15:31I am sure you will be amazed, and at that moment, you will not be able to resist the instinct
15:39to want a GSX-R for yourself.
15:44Even those of you who already have motorcycles in your garage will not regret adding a GSX-R to your
15:54collection.
15:55Please consider adding one more bike.
15:59Suzuki promises to continue refining our technology, production and quality with the spirit of by your side.
16:09And to deliver production to you with pride in made in Japan and engineer in Suzuki, Japan.
16:18Thank you for your attention. Thank you very much.
16:21Thank you, Hashimoto-san.
16:23Thank you.
16:24Some very, very interesting, passionate message there that you can clearly feel Suzuki's engineering spirit and amazing technology.
16:34Right, now, we have a special video message from two riders competing in the Hayabusa NHRA Drag Racing in the
16:42United States.
16:43Richard Gadson and Gage Herrera of the Vansenhein Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle Team.
16:48Let's take a look.
16:51NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle.
16:53In this drag racing series, riders cover the quarter mile in the six second range.
16:59The production-based machines feature major engine and chassis modifications.
17:03The Revzilla Motul Vansenhein Suzuki Team is chasing a fourth straight NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle title.
17:12I'm Eddie Krawick, four-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion and one of the current crew chiefs on these two
17:19guys' motorcycle.
17:21I'm Gage Herrera, two-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion.
17:26I'm Richard Gadson, current defending Pro Stock Motorcycle World Champion.
17:30These two guys right here combined account for the last three NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Championships.
17:37Richard, what makes the Gen 3 Hayabusa so special for you?
17:41I think it's a lot to do with the unique body style that Suzuki come up with for this bike.
17:47It's really aerodynamic. In relation to our Pro Stock bikes, we don't get a lot of wind noise or it's
17:53very easy to correct and steer.
17:54Riding many other different body styles and getting on the Gen 3, it was night and day difference.
17:59The stability, the aerodynamic-wise, you don't hear the air noise in the helmet just because of the windscreen and
18:06all that.
18:06So overall, the stability and not only that, it looks very cool.
18:10So you both race outside of NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle. You both race Suzuki Hayabusas. Tell us about what you
18:17got.
18:17So I have a Gen 2 Hayabusa Nitrous Assisted No Bar Pro Street Bike. I've been 622 at 217 on
18:26it.
18:27But it still utilizes basically the stock Hayabusa motor. Stock cases, stock head, stock transmission.
18:35I mean, it just goes to show what you can do with the whole Hayabusa platform and I almost feel
18:41like there's no limit with it.
18:42I too do a lot of racing outside of NHRA on no bar bikes, more what you're used to seeing
18:47a street bike look like.
18:49And the Hayabusa is obviously our weapon of choice, not just for us, but for pretty much everybody in the
18:54pits.
18:55Again, it's just so, it's such a great platform to build from. I ride a lot of Nitrous Assisted, Hayabusas,
19:03Turbo, a little bit of everything.
19:05All the way down to Super Stock, which is just a stock bike, slammed, stock wheelbase with bolt-on accessories.
19:11You know, the Hayabusa from top to bottom is just the bike of choice for all of us, especially me.
19:18Well, what incredible machines they are.
19:21One of the key lessons we've learned from these two riders who compete in the very highest level of drag
19:26racing.
19:27Of course, in pursuit of the ultimate acceleration, the inherent strength and durability of Suzuki's fundamental Suzuki design.
19:35It's robust enough to handle the tremendous power generated through race tuning.
19:40What's equally important is that the technology and know-how developed through racing are fed into our production models.
19:47That machine actually is around the corner.
19:50That transfer of knowledge helps us to deliver the performance, the reliability, confidence that Suzuki riders expect from our motorcycles.
19:59Quite an extraordinary. As I say, that machine is just around the corner.
20:02Right, now it's time, and I'm sure everyone is waiting for this time, for the new models.
20:07So please welcome Mr. Akira Kooji, Division Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Division.
20:12Kooji-san, very, very pleased to see you this morning.
20:15How are you, Steve-san?
20:17Good morning everyone, I'm Akira Kooji. Thank you for joining us today.
20:23So, what is new, Kooji-san, what is new for today?
20:28Alright, Steve-san, we have two new models, and as usual, let's take a look at the video first.
20:48Thank you very much for watching.
20:51Let's keep going...
20:54Bis zum nächsten Mal.
21:27Bis zum nächsten Mal.
21:52Bis zum nächsten Mal.
22:27Bis zum nächsten Mal.
23:00Bis zum nächsten Mal.
23:31Bis zum nächsten Mal.
24:00Bis zum nächsten Mal.
24:31Bis zum nächsten Mal.
24:54Bis zum nächsten Mal.
25:22Bis zum nächsten Mal.
25:37Bis zum nächsten Mal.
26:21Bis zum nächsten Mal.
26:30Bis zum nächsten Mal.
26:35Bis zum nächsten Mal.
27:39Bis zum nächsten Mal.
29:16The GSX-10R proudly features four-cylinder engine.
29:49That delivers a distinctive,
29:51all requirements for all requirements needed for fun riding on tracks.
29:54Would you say, would you say?
30:27So, you can say, is it?
30:48Not yet, we also have some racing news to share.
30:55Here at our booth, you can see the Yoshimura Sat racing bike from the FIM EWC Championship
31:02and the CNA Challenge G6R1000R and NHRA machine.
31:08As our president explained, the CNA Challenge machine competed in the Suzuka 8 hours.
31:15Yoshimura Sat machine won the third place in this year's EWC Championship.
31:21We would like to thank every team member and supporter for their hard work and commitment.
31:28Please welcome the Yoshimura Sat riders, CNA Challenge riders and team manager, Sahara-san.
31:34Well, firstly, Etienne, lovely to see you here today.
31:38I have to say, I apologise, Dan Linford and Greg Black are on a flight coming back from New York.
31:44So, they didn't make it, but you did, thankfully very, very much indeed.
31:48You're going to have to give them some sort of a fine, I think, or maybe a yellow card for
31:53not turning up.
31:54Tell us a bit about the season. Third place in the Championship, but I think some of the other teams
31:58learnt from the CERT team.
32:00Yeah, maybe. Good morning, everyone. So, yeah, we finished on the third position, so it was a good result, but
32:08it's not the first place.
32:10So, yeah, we did a good season, especially on the 24 hour race.
32:15And we took the second place in the 24 hour of Le Mans and in the Boulder with the new
32:25J6R.
32:26So, it was a good season. I think next year will be better.
32:31I'm sure you will, but you've been world champions many, many times, of course, in the past.
32:35You got the new engine after the eight hour, I think, didn't you?
32:38Yeah, the new engine helped us a lot, especially on the Boulder with the long back straight.
32:47Yeah, it's always easy to overtake with the new engine and, yeah, I hope next year will be better.
32:56I'm sure you will. Thank you very much. Etienne Masson, thank you very much indeed.
33:00Now, Sahara-san, you were running the team and you had a pretty good season,
33:06but with the eight hour race and the carbon neutral machine, it was spectacular, I think.
33:11Yes, it was the third year for us to participate in the Suzuka eight hour race.
33:20We aim to achieve both further reduction of environmental impact and improved performance.
33:31We are proud to have finished the race in seventh place overall.
33:38During the race, the track condition was wet all alone and three times safety car interventions forced us into even
33:50more difficult situations.
33:52But thanks to the skillful riding of our strong riders, Tsuda, Mizuno and Etienne Masson here.
34:02Also, thanks to the unity of our team, we finally overcome these difficulties.
34:10Furthermore, the team is composed of Suzuki employees, so the experience gained at the race track will be utilized in
34:22our mass production development during their daily work.
34:28We would like you, all of you, to keep close watch on the future initiatives of Suzuki CM Challenge.
34:38That was very, very impressive. Thank you very much.
34:42Please give them a big round of applause for Etienne here and Sahara-san that did a wonderful, wonderful job.
34:49So I would now like to invite Kuji back up here out to the front. Thank you, Kuji-san.
34:55All right. Thank you.
34:55Suzuki Distributors also support many local racing activities around the world, and these teams have achieved many good results.
35:04The GSX-8 series have been highly acclaimed by customers, media and racing team alike.
35:11The GSX-8R and 8S have demonstrated its potential not only on public roads, but also in racing activities across
35:19multiple markets and races of Motor America,
35:23SBK Sport Bike category and one make race series in Italy and France.
35:30We thank all of the teams for their hard work and achievements.
35:34We also thank Suzuki racing fans around the world for supporting our teams.
35:41So that is all for today. We hope you enjoyed our presentation.
35:44To learn more, please visit our booth here in Milan or visit Global Suzuki Online.
35:51Thank you very much and see you next time.
35:54Yes, thank you very much indeed.
35:56But now for a photo opportunity, I'd like to invite Mr. Toshiri Suzuki and Mr. Hashimoto back up on stage
36:03please for photographs.
36:05Thank you.
36:10There you have it.
36:11This concludes the 2026 press conference.
36:15We hope you've enjoyed the presentation.
36:17Thank you very, very much for coming along.
36:19It's been a pleasure seeing you and I hope to see you next time.
36:22Thank you.
36:25Suzuki by your side.
