00:10relief um i'm just talking about my experience uh because i covered that 2017 and you know
00:19when there's a certain level and point joe you know when you get that hopelessness
00:25and you don't know and you start to question whether these guys know what the hell they're
00:30doing or know what the hell they're talking about and then that doubt starts creeping in
00:35and then the player doubt starts creeping in and then you start looking at coaches sideways and
00:41then you start wondering if people are sabotaging people if they're intentionally doing it and
00:47you know and then you're like is this happening all over again you you know you know joe no we've
00:54had some of that happen but honestly um with the character of guys and the core i said this to
01:00you last week and the veteran players they have uh i really wasn't worried about that they you know
01:06the guys got their money to to the the four or five guys and uh and then on top of
01:12that i love what
01:14they did during the off week for the new plan with the offense and malik willis who went from his
01:20worst
01:20game to his best game for the dolphins he looked fantastic when he ran there was no doubt there
01:26was no he just took off and got it you know my favorite malik willis play no which one where
01:32he
01:32threw the ball away really yeah he did he did throw one away he didn't take a you're right but
01:38but
01:38it was obvious to me that bobby slowick did a really nice job as offensive coordinator to make
01:44sure he and malik willis were on the same page on what they wanted to get done not just him
01:49the
01:49receivers too because they're not they they're trying to take ownership but a lot of people
01:57won't give them ownership of what's been going wrong in the offense what do you mean by that
02:02the receivers know they've been effing up oh and they they've personally taken ownership of the fact
02:07that they've been effing up yeah but everybody else including the media ignores it and puts the
02:13blame on malik and puts the blame on bobby slowick and you know all the offense sucks and malik is
02:19not you know malik isn't what what they paid for and the receivers are like hey hey hey it's not
02:25them it's us i think the coaches did a pretty good job though of not throwing it on malik and
02:31blaming a
02:31little bit on everybody that wasn't just yeah no quarterback takes all the heat but i agree with
02:36you man the receivers and i gotta tell you having caleb douglas because i had no idea after missing
02:41basically a month no idea what he's gonna look like first and last touchdowns and uh he looked great
02:48releases everything having him out there but i just like the game plan with malik and and by the
02:55way we got to give the offensive line credit both sides those guys played pretty well on the pass
03:00protection did a nice job okay that's the strongest unit we've said it all year um they are going to
03:06ride that unit i mean and it it the final play on offense not the kneel downs personified exactly who
03:15they are as a team and who they want to be and i thought that was so eloquent and brilliant

03:21defined a jeff halfley team and what he wants to become and you know it it it injects the buy

03:28you understand what i'm saying yeah yeah it it that's who he wants to be he wants to be a

03:35they need to go get one yard they're gonna go get one yard where where what was our main complaint
03:40about the mike mcdaniel era soft they couldn't get that when they need to go get that one yard
03:45they they weren't getting it no you're right didn't even try we did those screens outside and
03:50no we tried we tried we tried we just failed a lot but uh i do like uh what what
03:56he has built and
03:57what he has done and they are listening and they're coaching him up and uh he talked about a better

04:04rush he's doing a lot of creative things to try to get more out of that group and
04:07uh i thought the biggest play of the game might have been uh the first of three with zach sealer
04:13first and goal at the one to tie the game up early in the fourth quarter and zach sealer makes

04:19play one-on-one to beat his guy and make a tackle for about a yard loss followed by uche
04:26and then
04:27chop robinson nobody fooled on trying to get outside the pocket on a bootleg and and there's there's chop
04:33to take him down force him to kick a field goal i thought those three plays were amazing
04:37that should have been a touchdown uh you know joe to be honest with you i haven't reviewed the game
04:43yet and that series i i and even my peers um took my peers uh um marcel he he he
04:54loves that play he
04:55loves that series he loves he loves zane anderson's role in that series and and that's why all of us

05:00something different and all of us see things differently you know everybody knows i am a trench
05:05guy i i am and and and i love offensive line play i love trench play and to me my
05:14favorite play other
05:15than the leak throwing the ball away my favorite play of the game is that 14 yard run that ollie
05:20gordon had when you got to when you're in the four minute offense you got to kill that clock
05:24that was big by the way to get to get a couple of those first downs you're you're absolutely right
05:29and uh to chew up some time and and by the way it was obvious no just knew exactly what
05:35you were
05:36doing they knew exactly where you were going they knew exactly who you're trying to do it with
05:42and they still gave up 14 you know uh just some things they changed because we went through this
05:48and i know you did too but getting greg dulcich back involved a couple blitzes you get him the ball
05:53you hit him down the middle of the field uh that's what dulcich can do for you ollie gordon and

05:59caleb douglas so it's not just one or two guys and going well what about the other guys and uh

06:05then you know continue to try to get the other receivers involved yeah caleb douglas clearly the
06:11number one dog on the outside though on things oh absolutely and and and that's not to say that chris

06:17is not as talented as him because i think he's is that he's shown you if he's you know he's
06:24shown
06:24you he could be a big dog um caleb is just a little bit ahead from the offensive standpoint
06:30and what i've noticed with this team especially after practice last week you know chris bell is one
06:36of those guys who is taking ownership for the fact that he's effing up he is no it's good and
06:41he was after practice working with receiver coach um last week when i was there and you could tell
06:49he's trying to put the work in to improve and it's not going to show up it didn't show up
06:53on sunday
06:53it might not show up against the patriots but if he continues to put it in it will eventually show

07:00and then imagine if you have not one good receiver but two good receivers yeah and then uh i love

07:09they're doing with the tight ends now and it's not just greg but they got treyor involved and you
07:16know and i'm i'm not a huge believer in treyor but maybe that's because i haven't seen it and maybe
07:20that's because he's played the game for what all of four years and it's trying to figure it out
07:25yeah um i i didn't buy in but they they bought in i don't and yeah yeah and and and

07:54needs a full off season to come back i think he'll be a completely different guy next year and i

09:01there's the jalen wright story and i watched that and uh you know i i i love the fact this

09:08of my job that i love i love the fact that you can see all the stories and see how
09:14all the whole
09:15picture impacts everybody and i and i what's your take on jalen wright i want to hear this as a
09:19i want to i want to i want to see him come out i want to see him keep working
09:23and come out of this
09:25funk and regain his confidence and be get to the point where he can contribute and help this team
09:33because he's he's by he's battling through a an injury and you know probably would it would it
09:39benefit him to shelve himself and get his foot fully healthy probably but but then ollie will continue to
09:47gain and and and and lead and create an identity and you'll feel left out and you'll feel lost and
09:54this was your chance and your opportunity um i have compassion for him in what's going on and and i'm
10:02sure the coaches do and it's their job also to coach him out of the funk that he's in well

10:08return guy right now he's returning good luck trying to stay healthy returning kicks
10:13some of those some of those hits uh yeah i never thought about that kickoff return team and some
10:19of the hits he's been he had a great return yesterday by the way but uh had a nice one
