00:00There was this story that was making the round yesterday, Leroy, about the New York Knicks and their rings, okay?
00:09And apparently, two things happened.
00:12The New York Knicks, first off, their assistant coaches didn't get their rings.
00:19For whatever reason, the New York Knicks assistant staff from last year didn't get their rings.
00:26They don't even know if Mike Brown got his ring, quite frankly.
00:29And they faked it and just gave them the box on ring night, which is, my God.
00:37I mean, just the lowest of the low, if you're already – like, you had all year to get these
00:42stupid rings made.
00:42I don't understand what you're waiting for.
00:44The Super Bowl's got to make 100 rings.
00:46They all have it before the season, ready and raring to go, but that's James Dolan for you.
00:51So the coaching staff didn't open them because the rings weren't inside, according to The Athletic.
00:59Seven league sources – seven league sources, all speaking on the condition of anonymity because they couldn't talk freely about
01:05that.
01:05How anonymous can they be when it was – how many?
01:09It says seven league sources.
01:12Okay.
01:14It said the coaches did not get their rings on baronite.
01:16Two of the sources say that the assistant learned earlier Tuesday they would not be getting their rings that evening,
01:21which came at no surprise because they had not yet been fitted for one
01:25and that their boxes would be without rings, and they were late additions to the ceremony.
01:31Team sources describe the assistant coach's reactions as ranging from genuine anger to annoyance,
01:37and there was conflicting information on whether or not Mike Brown received his ring.
01:42But this is also weird.
01:46The Knicks also not only didn't give their assistant coaches the rings yet,
01:54but apparently a lot of long-time employees, you know, a lot of long-time employees for teams, they get
01:59rings.
01:59You know, if you work in the – maybe you don't get the player ring or the top-tier ring,
02:05but they were supposed to get rings.
02:08But this is the thing that's crazy about it.
02:10The New York Knicks, they pulled an okey-doke on their employees where they sent a phishing email,
02:19not like the phish, like a data phishing email, to a bunch of employees to test whether or not they
02:27would click on something.
02:28And if they did, they had to take a cybersecurity class.
02:33And I just got to tell you, James Dolan, are you just not the worst or the worst, dude?
02:40Like, you can go in, you can give everybody all the great things in the world because he's a gazillionaire.
02:46He owns two franchises for a bazillion dollars.
02:50You're pulling cybersecurity okey-dokes with ring emails to your employees to see whether or not they follow protocol?
02:58Hey, doofus, let me ask you something.
03:02How many times in the history of your organization – I guess the answer would be since emails existed once
03:06–
03:06would an employee think a ring email was coming?
03:11Obviously, it's not for doorbells.
03:13So what good does that do for your company other than just being a jackass?
03:20And by the way, this goes for all companies who do this nonsense of like trying to booby-trap your
03:27employees with phishing emails.
03:29Let me tell you something, 900 times out of 1,000, if it's not even 999 out of 1,000,
03:37it's probably your protocols, not employees screwing up as to why you got breached and had a virus go through
03:43your system.
03:44But the idea now that you want to put it on Joe in the cubicle because you impersonated a boss
03:52and be like, Joe, I'm sorry, dude.
03:55You got to take a cybersecurity tutorial because you clicked on the wrong Ron email.
04:00It's like, hey, dude, I'm doing 1,000 things.
04:04You're working me to the bone over hours undercompensating.
04:08And now you're sending me digital booby traps to try and get me to sit there and watch Franz on
04:15the tutorial say, you need to be careful about what email you click.
04:20Dude, what are we doing as a society when we're trying to do this to employees?
04:24Don't we have enough things going on in the world?
04:27And just the fact that James Dolan feels the need, which should be the highest of happy times for your
04:34employees, right?
04:35You guys just won the championship, and you don't even know how to act, all right?
04:39Some of these guys, I swear to God, it's just like the idiot over in Carolina who needs to engrave
04:45his family tree and knock five people off the Stanley Cup.
04:48Put your family name and move on.
04:51But this is crazy.
04:53You set up things that are never going to happen.
04:56Why would I have a ring email come to my inbox if I didn't think it was the actual email?
05:04It's just disgusting because it's like they were promised rings.
05:09Like, it is known that if your team, you work these jobs.
05:13You get a simpler ring, of course.
05:16You get a simpler ring, but you do get a ring.
05:19It's still a nice token.
05:20Of course it is.
05:22And some of the ladies, instead of a ring, they gave like a pendant, correct.
05:29Correct.
05:29But you get something.
05:32Yeah, for being a part of this organization, this team.
05:36Because that's all everybody talks about.
05:38Like, as soon as they win a championship, the first thing they talk about is all the people that you
05:42don't see, all the people behind the scenes, all the people helping all the players, the coaching staff, and whatever.
05:48I remember, like, when we would talk about it with the Miami Heat, I'd be like, I would ask Ben,
05:53the executive producer, all the time, like, if we were to win a championship, I'm just curious, like, do we
05:57get rings?
05:59And he was like, honestly, I think you guys do.
06:01So, if the Miami Heat won a championship, and I was told that I could get a ring, and an
06:08email came to me from the Miami Heat telling me, after we won this championship, that I was going to
06:12get this ring, of course I'm going to press on it.
06:14That's such, it's such a cruel and unusual punishment.
06:17Because apparently, also, it was reported that these employees, if they press the link, they also, they not only did
06:24they have to take a cybersecurity course, but they also didn't get the ring.
06:27It's crazy.
06:28Yes.
06:30You understand, like, what are we, what are we, what are we doing?
06:34And people are saying, oh, Tobin, you're mad because you fall for spam employees.
06:37I've only gotten one, and it was really good.
06:39It was for my stupid Twitter account, where I've ever gotten, and they were good.
06:43And it got me locked out of my account for, like, three weeks.
06:45I've never clicked on a link on a phishing employee, but I have had the company try and dupe me
06:51before with fake people who work, and I'm like, and I've gotten texted, and I'm like, hey, man, you don't
06:57talk like this.
06:58And he goes, you passed the test.
07:00I'm like, test?
07:02Test?
07:03What are we doing?
07:04What are we wasting our time for?
07:06Are you kidding me with this?
07:08Do you understand?
07:09Let me explain something to you people.
07:11You probably already know, because you guys have real jobs.
07:13Do you understand how hard you're working?
07:16Do you know how annoying it is that some jackass fakes the company out by acting like they're necessary and
07:22say, we need to see if your employees are up to cybersecurity code.
07:25Oh, really?
07:27Tell me how.
07:28We'll send them phishing emails.
07:29So let me get this straight.
07:30We're wasting company time that you guys find so precious by sending up okie-dokie emails to people to make
07:37sure they click and make sure they're cybersecurity.
07:39Meanwhile, what you should do is really pay somebody to have better cybersecurity to make sure you don't get hacked,
07:45which happens to companies all the time.
07:49But you think that it's a productive thing to send out fake manager emails to people and be like, oh,
07:56so in the burden of the day going on where you already keep people past hours of work, you think
08:02that I think it's important to make sure my employees don't click fake emails.
08:07Those are fake emails, right?
08:10No, it's not hard.
08:11Have a better spam system for your emails and don't send me like you're wrong.
08:18The manager being like, oh, yeah, I need you.
08:21Oh, gotcha.
08:22Guess what?
08:22You got to take more classes.
08:24So I had a similar situation to that at Michigan, but for different reasons, OK, we were supposed to have
08:35this big ceremony where we got our rings before the season started.
08:40Right.
08:41And like right before camp or something like that.
08:45And when they sent the rings to Michigan, we got measured and everything in spring ball.
08:51When they sent the rings, it had a Minnesota M on it.
08:55I remember you telling me that.
08:56Yeah.
08:57So all the rings had to go back.
08:59But the ceremony kept going and they gave us empty boxes.
09:04Just for sure.
09:06Different reasons.
09:08But what confused me about this is.
09:12How are you going to have boxes for rings?
09:16And granted, they could be empty.
09:19But the coaches never got measured for rings.
09:24So what are you giving them a box for?
09:27Yeah.
09:27Right.
09:28The whole thing.
09:29The whole thing is kind of just.
09:32Look, you never.
09:33Like you want credit.
09:35It's almost like they wanted credit for getting all those rings.
09:38Right.
09:39Without actually getting all the rings and thinking that there's no way this story would get out.
09:45But anyway, fins up says he's very mad at me.
09:49Probably an IT guy.
09:52He says, he says, you cannot block all spam phishing emails.
09:56You need to come sit down for a cup of coffee and I'll explain it to you.
09:59I've already had two today, sir.
10:00Don't need one.
10:01And I don't need any more.
10:03I don't need training.
10:04We know how the world goes.
10:06And by the way, your tutorials are outdated anyway.
10:09So like, what's it going to teach you?
10:10Nothing.
10:10Because you keep saying the technology is going to change.
10:12It's a waste of everybody's time.
10:14Anytime these things happen.
10:16By the way, it's a waste of time.
10:18And you want to know something?
10:19All these mechanisms put up to make it seem like people need to help with it.
10:23Because now you got to put like your blood samples in to even get into your emails.
10:26It's crazy.
10:28It's true.
10:29I think I understand that cybersecurity is important.
10:33I get it.
10:34You want us to do a training on it?
10:35Make us do a training on it.
10:36That's fine.
10:37But to use this opportunity to make a point about it, to me, is what's despicable.
10:45That's what's disgusting.
10:46Not getting a ring at the end.
10:48That's what.
10:49And that's the crazy.
10:50You get punished for also falling for it.
10:53You know who needs the training, dude?
10:55Gertrude.
10:56The old are not very good with technology.
10:57And you want to know something?
10:58You give her 900 tutorials.
10:59She's still going to click on the phishing email if it says pretty cats are playing with yarn.
11:04It's just as much as it is.
11:05I don't know what to tell you.
11:06That's going to be forever, dude.
11:08So you're only going to have the old to fix.
11:10But to go out and do sneaky stuff to try and get stuff?
11:15Ridiculous.
11:16And heinous.
11:17And typical New York Knicks behavior.
