Skin tags and diabetes: a dermatology study found diabetes in 23% of people with skin tags vs 8.5% of people without them.

Skin tags on the neck, under the arms or along the bra line can be an early, visible sign of insulin resistance. High insulin acts as a growth signal for skin. The CDC estimates 115 million Americans have prediabetes and 8 out of 10 don't know it. A skin tag does not mean you have diabetes, but it is a good reason to ask your doctor for an A1c or glucose tolerance test, or to see your numbers with a CGM.
