00:12we pack those suitcases and head to piako now except it's our national under 15 footballers
00:19who will be making the long journey to azerbaijan for the inaugural fifa under 15 world cup festival
00:25the young boys said farewell to their parents earlier today and received their certificates
00:30in a standoff at the vip lounge just before their departure please welcome jalea nanton
00:38he has the mother's milk on his face still
00:46armed with their certificates the future football stars were all set to make the 11 000 kilometer
00:54journey to azerbaijan as part of the first fifa under 15 world cup festival and though they
01:00are very young third vice president of the ttfa jameson riggs reminded them of the responsibility
01:05they will carry more than carrying the national colors you are carrying hopes dreams and pride
01:15of the people of trinidad and tobago when you step onto that field play with courage play
01:23with discipline humility and determination respect your opponents just as you would respect your
01:33teammates and your coaches the schools principals and coaches were recognized for their roles in
01:39impacting the development of the 14 young men and ttfa technical director devin elcock also spoke on the
01:46impact of the high performance program when we talk about ttfa high performance program it is easy to
01:53focus on the focus on the visible things like sessions fitness work the tactical preparation the
02:01data the travel and matches but the real purpose of high performance program is deeper than that it is
02:10about building an environment where young players are challenged properly supported fully and prepared not
02:19not only to compete at the highest level but to carry themselves with discipline humility and pride it's about
02:28turning potential into performance and performance into responsibility but he did not reserve his praise only for
02:35coaches and schools but also the parents you are the first coaches the first supporters and the first source of
02:44comfort when
02:45things are difficult you have made many sacrifices adjust your busy schedules trusted in our staff and work with the
02:54ttfa to
02:55make sure that your sons are here ready and represent our nation and for that i would like to say
03:02thank you for
03:02believing in the program and believing in all the children's dreams trinidad and tobago will open their under-15
03:09world cup campaign on saturday against sin kits and nevis terence clark tv6 sport cricket analyst fazeer muhammad
03:17says it's too early to get carried away and think about a turnaround in west indies cricket this comes in
03:23the wake of the
03:24white ball series in india where the men in maroon impressed in both formats having said that muhammad lauded the
03:34indian team in their own backyard here's more even though it's been over two decades that the west indies won
03:43a
03:43bilateral series against the men in blue on indian soil many were impressed with their display in the t20
03:49series the five match contest finished two apiece with the last game in bengaluru being a no result due to
03:55rain among those praising the windies was cricket analyst fazeer muhammad who felt they showed great fight
04:01throughout the series after they were beaten in the 1d international series by two matches to one
04:07thinking that the west indies would have pushed india as hard as they did uh really might have been
04:12accused of fanciful thinking but in the end uh we saw the west indies really pushing india very hard
04:18and it's just the disappointment that the raid was the spoilsport in that final fixture but no question
04:24about it uh the west indies performance was very very encouraging uh certainly with the bat in that regard
04:29when we talk about their overall performance that's a different discussion but definitely a two-all result
04:35maybe a bit of an anti-climax but still a very good effort by the west indies some have started
04:40talking
04:41highly about west indies cricket following the exhibition in india where the men in maroon gave
04:46100 percent in both white ball formats so can this be the rise of caribbean cricket following the
04:51performance of captain she hope and his men is this the sign of a turnaround no because there are far
04:57too many
04:58variables when we talk about not just cricket but t20 cricket especially even the uh indian coach
05:03gautam gambir their former international player has talked about that t20 series not really being so
05:10much about the contest between bat and ball but batsmen on one side against batters on on the other
05:15side as well so in that sense it was disappointing because one of the elements of the game of cricket
05:20it's
05:21not just one team against the other but it's also the duel of bat against ball and in this case
05:26and also in the one
05:27days it was far too heavily weighted in favor of the batters looking back at the rain affected
05:33truncated contest in bangaluru india made 118 for five from 7.4 overs which meant the windys may have
05:40had to chase 84 in five overs according to the tnt based cricket analyst it could have been anybody's
05:47game it's not impossible because it's been done in fact it's been done at a better rate in the final
05:52overs of t20 matches over the years whether franchise or international cricket but with
05:57the issue of scoreboard pressure the series on the line might have been a different situation but but
06:01yes it's not certainly wouldn't have been impossible would have been a very challenging target of course
06:06uh but again rain around slippery conditions ball uh wet and bowl is not able to hold on to it
06:13properly
06:14might have given the western news an even better chance but but yes not out of the realms of
06:18possibility but would have been very very difficult in early 2027 the west indies will participate in
06:25world cup qualifiers with the hope of playing in the fifth day over tournament on the african continent
06:29vinod nawani tips export to the big guns of the past skipper chris scale says winning the world
06:36championship of legends title is an achievement west indians can be proud of the men in maroon defeated
06:43england by nine wickets in sunday's final in sharjah to lift the trophy here are the details and they
06:50are going to celebrate the western east players were in their glee after winning the world championship of
06:55legends trophy on sunday night in sharjah following the match captain chris gale lauded his men for
07:00getting the better of england by nine wickets in the final and the lights right absolutely man i know
07:04i'm so happy for the guys um you know remarkable winning championship team so you know england played a
07:10very good game i want to give england a big shout out as well they have a tremendous tournament um
07:14thanks to my guys dj bravo you know vice captain chadick walton of the phenomenal you know tournament
07:20as well and lendell simmons in the final but credit got to go to the bowlers though i think they're
07:25really and truly set it up for us gale took a stunning catch of the bowling of duane bravo which
07:29saw joe denley being dismissed for naught according to gale he wanted to give it his all for the team
07:34when it comes to this situation you know you kind of put out a little bit of extra energy
07:38um but at the same time i was like don't pull that muscle chris don't pull that muscle so
07:42thank god you know everyone is actually safe going back home now so i'm just really happy with the
07:46win and you know season three remember the name rest in this looking back at the semi-final against
07:52australia shivner and chandipol made a crucial match winning 41 to take the windys to the title match
07:58as such the universe boss was full of praise for the tiger it's good to see him on the field
08:03as well
08:03you know it's fantastic he's the player coach for our team as well but he was superb man he's
08:07actually fitting well with the group so glad to have a man like shiver i'll ship around yeah i
08:12mean i was away so i didn't really get to actually see the innings but um seeing the highlights i'm
08:16just like just make me smile to be honest with you so chivner in chandipol you might have to put
08:21the gears on next year again the windys were just dominant and gale felt the wind was phenomenal
08:26i know it's um you know like a legend tournament but this is always something special you know for the
08:31people in back home as well western is due with um india you know two all in a t20 series
08:35as well so
08:36this is just fantastic for western is cricket england made 159 for seven before the men in maroon
08:42responded with 165 for one from 17 overs based on the conditions england captain ravi bopara felt his
08:49side should have scored a lot more runs on this ground you've got to get a minimum of 200 uh
08:53regardless
08:54of the pitch it was a very very good pitch um i thought the toss was quite big today we
08:58went to bowl
08:59first but it was a little bit in it early on but i thought the western indies were brilliant the
09:03way they
09:03bowled they were disciplined and they made it really difficult for us west indies were described
09:07as the bogey side for england when it came to finals and why couldn't the english cross the line
09:12this time around well they're a good side they bring they bring their big players and they always
09:16turn up in the finals um you know you if you watch through the history of especially this group
09:20of players they've always turned up especially in the late stages of the tournament and they've done
09:24it again this was the third edition of the world championship of legends with the west indies
09:29lifting their maiden title which was first won by india in 2024 and then south africa last year
09:37we stay on the subcontinent where despite not winning the t20i series against india in the rain
09:44affected final match yesterday head coach darren sami is appreciative of the strides and positives
09:50they've gained from the tour it would have been nice um i think the cup still is in our favor
09:59because we won the the home leg uh the last time we played three two so um but yeah um
10:06it's a true
10:07reflection of of of how how the teams have played you know the challenges that we face
10:12um we just we just look to make little strides and i think after this series uh we've taken a
10:21massive step we're playing against the defending champions and um we've we've matched them on
10:27certain areas we've we've out i've played them um especially in their in their backyard so i'm
10:34pleased with the tour um we move on to to bangladesh now with test series and hopefully that type of
10:40energy
10:40um you know could could help us finish the the year on on a positive note we head over to
10:48barbados
10:48now where our calypso girls got off to a winning start on the opening day of the america's regional
10:55qualifiers for next year's netball world cup in sydney australia tnt coming off their memorable defeat
11:03of jamaica to win the gold medal at the cac games took care of grenada's spy skills 61-4
11:10maica bramble feasted scoring 30 of her 32 attempts while kira rothwell was super efficient
11:17scoring 18 of her 19 and veteran sharpshooter samantha wallace joseph scored 13 of her 14 shots
11:25the calypso girls are the favorites in 16 round robin tournament the two top teams at the end will
11:32both qualify for next year's netball wheel cup in sydney and tnt's coach lizel johnson and captain
11:39chantal simongo springer spoke about today's victory over grenada your first game your victory i would
11:48think i would consider it a fairly comfortable victory what were your thoughts before you started
11:56prior to the start of the game my main thought was that the girls need to be comfortable going
12:01into this game that they enter the game confident that they are aware of what is expected and of
12:07course the ability to try this new code that barbados has done how are they going to play on a
12:11new tilt
12:12like this all right as the player on the court on the new surface how was it out there for
12:18you
12:19um it was something new something different from what we are usually accustomed to but it was comfortable
12:24to play on is there anything that happened on that court that surprised you on the surface
12:30um well every game there will be surprises so yes there were a lot of surprises but we i think
12:35my
12:35teammates adjusted well to most of the surprises and coach did you um give any particular instructions
12:42to your players in terms of how they would approach their first game on the court first game today
12:50well for this game today the instructions were very simple to implement all that we learned and have
12:56been drilling for the past few weeks to ensure that we execute as we should and maintain playing
13:01together as a team and support where needed where players may fall short possibly like a ball go out
13:08the court that they are able to help support that player to ensure that we have continuity on the
13:13courts we check out some school boys football now as saint mary's college extended their lead to points
13:20after round 10 of the ssfl premier division that's after a crushing three win three nil win over mucarapo
13:28second place saint benedicts dropped a couple points in a two-all draw with fatima college
13:34defending champs naparima with the biggest winners smashing trinity east six nil in our feature matches
13:41signal hill off third after edging hillview to one and malik secured the same scoreline away to queen's royal
13:48college with only one home victory of the season the qrc ground hasn't been a fortress for the royalians
13:55caught on the ball at the back and there is the opening goal and quichon spence had himself a
14:01double with queen's royal already in a two nil hole out out a great cross to spence and spence
14:09a bit unconventional you could say but spence makes it too with things already bleak qrc needed a
14:17response and they got one within five minutes and there's a response nehemiah thompson malik had
14:24a chance to restore their two goal advantage in the second half when a 50 50 duel spence in on
14:30goal
14:31that time a brave save but the two-one result was more than enough as they moved into the top
14:3710
14:37on 12 points and over in tobago signal hill hosted hillview college looking to return to winning ways
14:43and the newcomers sporting a four-match winless streak fell behind inside 30 minutes
14:51signal hill took that lead into the half and almost scored again of the restart
14:57job moves against the job shot blocked by the goalkeeper headed away by the defense as job beat
15:03one way and then the other and help you made them pay for that wasted opportunity as kamali pierre struck
15:09the ball across the goal post comes across and i shot one goal but the first half scorer jimmy
15:14watkins would set up his partner kalani job for the winning strike signal hill picking up their seventh
15:21win on the season edging hillview college 2-1 terence club tv6 sport to the fifa under 17 world cup

16:07visuete
16:08displayed her individual brilliance and fired a beauty from the edge of the box as the spaniards
16:12won 2-0
16:13and what a wonderful second for spade
16:16in the other group f match chile were the ones to score first against australia
16:20with concha doing the honors in the 33rd minute
16:25but the aussies leveled matters in the 63rd with charlotte bradshaw getting a name on the score
