00:01Well, it hasn't been officially announced. It could end up being Joey Cantillo or, um,
00:10what about Bybee? Tanner Bybee or Slate Ciccone could end up being them. Here is
00:17Steven Vogt on the issue.
00:19William's going short rest. That's not an option.
00:22Okay. So should, should we be, I'm getting cramped again. Should we be in survival mode
00:29or do you agree with Steven Vogt on this, on this decision? It's that simple.
00:342-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92. I mean, I'll tell you where I stand. I want to
00:37get your thoughts first though.
00:38I mean, what would it be? Three days rest?
00:40Yeah.
00:41And that's the other part of this that...
00:42Oh, we're going to agree. Damn it. Okay. You're going to go with Vogt in here, aren't you?
00:45Well, just, it's, it's so different when you look and you start doing the, doing the days.
00:51We're all doing it with our fingers, right? When did he last pitch? And you're going,
00:53when you only make it to three, that number is so different from four. It's, it's like the world
01:00and because why did he say he pulled them the last time around? It was velocity. Not just that
01:05it was the third time around the order. So do you just, would you though, do you believe that
01:10the guardians are in survival mode? Well, what do you mean by that? Do we have to do anything we
01:15can to survive and play on Tuesday? They do. But if part of the formula is having to throw,
01:23throw a guy after, man, all these innings this year and all these starts here in October and these
01:29very stressful, high leverage situations where every pitch is life or death. And the last time
01:34we saw him, his velocity tailed off, careened off a cliff, you know, when those, those, those last
01:40batters before he pulled them, it feels like three days is an impossibility. Okay. So where's your,
01:46then where's your confidence on everybody else on Slade Ciccone, on Joey Cantillo?
01:51It's not great at all. Okay. So, cause you know, you understand where I'm trying to box you in at
01:55because when you start the show at the saying, you're so sad and then you're agreeing with Stephen
01:59Vogue's decision. It's because of this. Okay. I'm just making sure. Cause you can't just,
02:02you can't just willy nilly here an hour and a half later after you spike my open,
02:07this is exactly why I feel the way I did is because if you were to pull everybody all in
02:13Northeast
02:13Ohio, especially the ones that have been through it, every game, watch 162 guys like Owen. Okay. I know you've
02:20watched a ton this year. I think that's the hard part about this. There's no answer. I have not
02:25heard an easy answer, like a confident. Yes. Here's who you start. No doubt about it. Like
02:30I just don't hear it. I don't hear it. 115 games this year. Yeah. I just don't hear it.
02:36As far as the confidence in it. Well, no one's as confident in anybody else on the, in the
02:42rotation or in the bullpen, except for maybe Kate Smith for one inning, then it would be Gavin
02:46Williams. Everybody's confident in Gavin Williams, Parker Messick. He's I, I think the world of
02:52Parker Messick, I think it goes without saying that. Yeah. He's, he's a bit young and maybe he'll
02:56get another chance if they are able to win these next two games. Uh, well, he would get another
03:01chance if they win the next two games, but use them again. Yeah. But you would use them again
03:04in the world series. It'd be fine. We'll see where it goes and maybe he'll snap out of it. Cause
03:08it
03:08hasn't been a great, it has not been as great of a post season as we thought it was going
03:12to be
03:12hopefully for, uh, for Parker Messick, but you know, if it ends up being the reverse
03:17Jarrett, right, then fine. I'm going to take that any day, any day possible. But for a guy
03:20like Gavin Williams, like, yeah, I understand that a lot of people believe that we're in
03:24survival mode, which means that we have to do every possible thing we can to win today,
03:28but on three days rest, it makes things, it makes things difficult. Now I thought he could
03:34be available. I thought he could be available for maybe an inning and then he would maybe be
03:38able to pitch in a game seven, but obviously some things change. So I, I, if I'm giving
03:44Steven vote, all the credit on Friday morning, can I, I have to trust Steven vote in this situation.
03:49Do I not? I have to. And so it's a baseball team. It's not just Gavin Williams. Some other
03:54guys are going to have to step up there and play and get you to a game seven tomorrow night.
03:58That simple. Two, one, six, four, seven, four, double low 92. Let me get to, uh, Caleb in Cleveland.
04:04Hello, Caleb. Are we having problems again? Okay. Caleb is gone. Let me try another one here.
04:13Let me try Justin in Cleveland. Hello. What's up boys. How are we doing? That was on their end.
04:18All right, Justin, go ahead. What's up boys. Uh, so first of all, Kenny, I think I saw you in
04:23a
04:23suite. So congrats on all your success. Oh, wow. I do actually agree with you. Uh, like I'm really
04:30excited about the Browns obviously, but you know, I'm, I'm, I'm crushed. I know we still got,
04:34you know, we still win, but watching those at-bats that we put up and against Freddie
04:38Peralta, I just, I, I hopefully I have egg in my face when I wake up in the morning, but
04:42I'm worried, but I'm also excited for the Browns. I love what I see. I love Carson Schlesinger.
04:47I love the defense. I like what the Sean's able to do. I got the fours up all day, but
04:51I just,
04:53it's a bummer. So yeah, I mean, it's a bummer, but why, why be crushed? Why be sad? I mean,
04:59when Lima says the word sad, it's such a nasty operative word because you're sad over things
05:04ending. It's not over. You're, you're, you're, you're two wins away from the world series. It
05:09is not over, but you can still be, you can be still, still be very upset. I mean, like you're,
05:14you're still, you're still able to, to be upset about it because you're two wins away from the
05:18world series. And like Lima, I'm foolish. I put carts before the horse a little bit. I was like,
05:23Oh, maybe, wow. We, maybe we can get back to the world series and you know, Hey, that's my fault.
05:27I shouldn't have done that, but like, yeah, I'm worried. I'm, I'm bummed. I'm allowed to be
05:31that way. That's fine. It's your personal feelings. I just think we're wasting a lot of time being sad
05:36when there's still two games or at least one more game left to go tonight. If the series is over,
05:41then yeah, maybe I'll come in tomorrow like a sad bastard. And maybe Lima and I will have some sort
05:46of
05:46a, a crossing over here. But man, when I saw that, when I saw your reaction, I heard your reaction.
05:52I was completely shocked. Go ahead on. I just, I do, you know, I trust vote. I have a small,
05:58small, small problem with not, you know, seeming that we're putting our best pitcher or our best
06:05pitching option out there when your back's against the wall. Cause if they don't win today,
06:10he doesn't get to pitch tomorrow. Right. Like that's no, that's fine. But yeah, you're allowed
06:14to be that way. You know, they're throwing Freddie Peralta, right? He, he threw in game four for an
06:20inning. So he threw game two, he started game two and I didn't think they were very, um, judicious
06:28in their pitching and how they saw his pitching. Right. He had a lot. He throws fastballs and they
06:34were high and they were out of the zone and they chased a lot of stuff and they swung at
06:39the first
06:39pitch and got hits. He threw eight pitches the first inning. Right. And it kind of extended what
06:43he did. Second inning, they came out, they, they took their time a little more with it. And then even
06:48when, when, when he came in and game four, he walked Jose. I just went and pulled that back
06:53up. He threw strike, strike, looking to Kwan line out, strike, looking to Jose. And then
06:58he threw five straight balls and got a fly out for chase the lotter. Yeah. I wonder if
07:03they think, well, we've got to have a more calm approach at the plate. We've got to make
07:09this guy work and get him out of there and take advantage of when he does have to throw
07:14it down the middle because he's three one in an account or three Oh, I'm hoping that
07:18that all works out. Well, I, I think it's a major risk though, to not throw Gavin will
07:23Williams tonight. Well, it is a risk, but I, again, when I'm saying how, when I caught
07:28it a vote win on third on Friday morning, I'm still going to go with Steven vote here
07:32and take his decision. And so that means if they lose tonight, that means I can't sit
07:37there and bitch his ear off tomorrow morning. I could sit there and go, I can wonder what
07:40if I'm going to wonder what if, but I can't sit there and scream and yell and say how
07:43much of an idiot he is based on me trusting him. So I can't do that. But when I look
07:48at
07:48it like this, I think you're totally right about that. And I actually had a disagreement
07:51with someone over at Fox eight about it because it was like before when Freddie Peralta was
07:54pitching, it was like, well, he's got this CRA go, well, he was a trade and he's been
07:59fantastic for Tampa Bay ever since he's been pretty good in the post season. And then he
08:02was really good against us. I think you're right. I think they will have to take a more
08:05measured approach because if you've got a guy who does fastballs and he's missing
08:09the zone, you can't just step up there and help the guy out. I know that they've wanted
08:12to be more aggressive at the plate and really they've had that philosophy since Steven Vogt
08:17took over. They've wanted to be more aggressive at the plate, but I totally agree with what
08:21Owen's saying. I mean, you don't want to help him out. I do think you can get to him or
08:25in
08:26the way that Owen's explaining it, he can get to himself here later on tonight and you have
08:31that chance. Not having Gavin Williams out there makes me nervous, obviously. But
08:40if you get to that game seven, how good do you feel going into tomorrow night with Gavin
08:45Williams on the mound? Because their, their rotation, I, I give Freddie Peralta a lot of
08:51credit, but their rotation, I still think we're better. I'll feel pretty good. I'll feel really
08:55good. If Kate Smith doesn't have to throw a ton of pitches tonight. That's a really good
08:58point. When he threw a 22 yesterday, Ron and streets, bro, you're first up on the fan.
09:03Hello. Hey guys. Uh, thanks for having me on. Uh, I might be crazy, but I think it's
09:09Tanner Bybee tonight. Do you want Tanner Bybee or are you thinking he's going to pick Tanner
09:13Bybee? No, I think he's the guy. I think he's been there before he's pitched in the post
09:18season and you don't have much left to throw. You need somebody who's going to give you a
09:21length. I think he can step up when he's needed. Ron, it's just, he seems so mental. This
09:25is so bad to say, cause we don't know, but when you go from part of the rotation, opening
09:30day starter to this, you know, I wonder if there's something in between the ears right
09:35now that might be. Yeah. So why not? Why not try to give it that confidence back to him?
09:39Be like, Hey, it's your ball tonight. Take it and run. Yeah. But if he goes out there
09:42and he gets hammered, then that's the end of the season. And we got to spend a winter
09:46trying to get him, try to get him fixed. And then we might even have a lockout that we'd
09:50have to try to get him fixed. So who knows when we're going to see him again. I think you
09:54go with Bybee and pray. All right, right. Thank you very much for the call. So he's one of
09:59is the operative. So he's going to be the one that's just going to pull out all the
10:02stops. Ron's going to go, you know what? We're going to zig when everybody else is
10:05zagging. We're going to go with Bybee. We need to find that minister that comforted
10:09Ken at the North South game. Wonderful, wonderful man. It was a great time. One of the best
10:14atmospheres I've ever been around in my entire life. Lima likes coming up at 745, by the
10:18way. Let me get the Caleb in Cleveland. Hello, Caleb. Hey, Caleb. I just, I honestly, I
10:24have to agree with the last guy. Um, I don't know. I mean, I mean, you threw fast, he threw
10:30fast out there every single game, regardless of how awful he was. At what point do you trust
10:36the guy you're paying $10 million? I mean, he's like the third highest paid guy on the
10:39roster, which doesn't say a lot coming from Cleveland, but like, at what point do you
10:43have to trust? Deshaun Watson was making $230 billion. None of us wanted to see him.
10:48We all thought he was shot. They did throw him back out there, but that was at the beginning
10:51of the season, not at the end of it. He's 4-2. He's doing it. So, I mean, at some
10:58point,
10:58something's got to give. He's had good postseason performances. It's not like he's a playoff
11:02choker. Messick is just kind of out of shape. Like, as much as I hate to, I love Messick.
11:06I got to see him at Florida State, but he's out of shape. He can't go long in the innings
11:09or long in the season. And once he gets there, he can't, he's throwing 50 pitches in two
11:14innings. Well, I mean, but yeah, but you also saw Gavin Williams is in shape and you saw
11:18his velocity start to tail off the other day. That's true. But he's still going out
11:23there and hammering people down. I mean, I just, I mean, this is kind of crazy. I think
11:27you have to. I look at Messick more of like, and Caleb, thank you for the call. I look at
11:31Messick more as like, Hey, you're a rookie. You've went from minor league baseball up to
11:36the pros. It's a different level. It's a lot harder. It's 300 innings. Yes. Like David
11:41Wells, like David Wells was not the peak physical condition of the male athlete. And David
11:47Wells was relied upon heavily in any postseason he ever pitched in vote, brought it up last
11:52night. He said, if you're, if you're still playing baseball this time of the year, nobody's
11:56at their top right now. I mean, they're, they're all going to be used up and worn down to a
12:02certain
12:02extent. We have to take advantage of where the rays are in there with their used up and
12:08worn. When was Bartola Colon's last postseason start? Cause he rolled around out there like
12:12I think he started in Venezuela last week. Okay. Probably more than likely. And he also
12:17bat cleanup in that. So it doesn't, it's out of shape is a strong thing to say. I think
12:24inexperienced is the, the more operative thing to say. Cause Gavin Williams looks like he's
12:28built a bricks and even his velocity starting to tail off here a little bit. Just to the
12:32Tanner Bybee thing. When's the last time he really, he threw what? Like 10 pitches against
12:36the white socks and a relief appearance in game four. It's difficult. It's, I mean,
12:42it's the equivalent. And the problem now is, you know, if you miss time during the regular
12:47season, then they send you down to Akron for a game or two, or they send you to Columbus
12:51for a game or two. They, they build you back up to this. And that that's not the case here.
12:56If it were to be by, we don't know.
12:58Dangerous Daryl Ryder. We got to ask him, should the guardians be going with Gavin Williams
13:01tonight? He's going to join us at eight 20 this morning. Also are these Browns sustainable?
13:06You got former NFL are saying no coming up in five minutes. Slime of likes. What
13:11do you like tone? Yeah. Something that happened over the weekend in a state right
13:16next to us. I was pretty excited. And then much like last night went to bed, not as
13:21excited. I'll explain. All right. It's coming up in five on the.
