00:38with the browns than win game five of the alds because well you know they could go out there
00:44and get boat raced by the rays i'm like who cares why would i care i would care that they

00:51i'm not afraid to be boat raced by the rays i don't think they will dude i think this is

00:56to be a lot closer of a series than people are talking about especially if they win tonight
01:01with not your ace on the mound if they win tonight i i think we got to look at this

01:23there's gonna be a lot of surprise people and then i think you got a much wider open alcs than

01:29lot of people realize they got a few boppers down there they do they're favorite in the series they
01:34are but i i think that they the guardians have as good a chance to get to the world series

01:40in recent memory and it i think right now considering the way the season is gone
01:48them beating a divisional foe winning the division beating a divisional foe in the alds
01:54i think the season's been successful for the guardians i think it has been as well and i don't think

01:59you know us admitting that it's been a successful season is us conceding what this week could be for
02:06the guardians you've gotten some major contributions all year from the young talent on this roster and
02:11that's really what we thought it was about coming into the season you were going to let the kids play
02:15and delauder played and played well and bazana debuted and has played well and made an impact in
02:21the last playoff series against chicago so for that it's been a success kenny i'm looking at some of
02:26these numbers for this week the rays don't have a great bullpen 19th in era 28th in home runs
02:35allowed per nine innings you could get after that tampa bay starting rotation and make them go to
02:42their bullpen you could see a path for these guardians who have kind of had a affinity for the
02:47dramatic all season long finding a way to win some of these ball games late and just playing guards
02:53ball the rays play a very similar brand of baseball to you guards balls great until you get beat by

02:59that don't play guards ball so that's the only thing that that you weren't against because like

03:39which i know is annoying what they've done with this payroll and their 25 million dollar player who
03:45makes 30 of our team's salary being out and down for most of the year as far as underperforming
03:52it's absolutely incredible and the differences between them and the teams that spend more money
03:57it's not like the other teams spend like an extra three million or five million milwaukee spent 50
04:03more million than us this year that's like 40 of our payroll or something or even more than that so
04:09it's been an overwhelming success i'm i'm totally pleased but and and i want that i want to ask what
04:15do people honestly think the guardians would have been like and the rays and and these other scrappy
04:21organizations if the financial playing field was level how many titles would the guardians have
04:26since 2013 i well i think they'd have one i think my my whole theory has been if they because

04:34know how you smooth it out really like that that's going to take some time i can't just immediately put
04:37in a floor in a cap we never would have lost lindor right we i mean i won't say never

04:44never lost him and i know he cratered in in new york in a lot of ways but i i
04:48would argue he might
04:49have never cratered our culture and our organizational uh development and what we do
04:54uh is is elite i know the hitting can leave uh you know much to be desired but a lot

06:11and the browns have spent so much money on a quarterback that we're still arguing about
06:15whether or not he has any sort of a future in the league whatsoever like you can make the big

06:19the guardians i think there's a lot of fans who and this is what's the scary thing about the game
06:25itself of major league baseball is that you start to lose the general fan base it's an easy thing when
06:32you're always in the conversation and you feel you're always in the conversation i feel lucky that the
06:38guardians are in the conversation i think a lot of people feel lucky that the guardians that their
06:42guardians fans and that their team does well enough year in and year out to put themselves in the
06:48conversation every year but i think people don't want luck i think people want excellence and a drive
06:54for excellence and the only thing that's going to be able to to get you into that is a cap

07:38see how this all shakes when the salary cap and the floor gets implemented i'm just looking at what's
07:43in front of me though with these tampa bay rays guys they're not world beaters guys they're they
07:47don't have the biggest payroll either st pete is is a pretty small market too i really do think for
07:53this week even with some of the things that you know the guardians are punching upwards just because
07:58of that payroll and it is a real thing i i think even with all of that baked in you
