00:00What a damaging and hectic hurricane season we've seen in the eastern Pacific.
00:05Look at all of the storms.
00:06We have two storms that we're tracking for you right now, Simon and Trudy.
00:11Let's take a look at the eastern Pacific hurricane season by the numbers.
00:15So 19 named storms, all right?
00:17Of those 19, we've had 10 hurricanes.
00:20And of the 10 hurricanes, 8 have been major hurricanes.
00:24Now, that's category three or greater with maximum sustained winds starting at 111 miles per hour.
00:31Take a look at the other statistic here.
00:34What we normally see in the eastern Pacific is 15 storms.
00:37The last storm is on the November 5th, so we've already had 19.
00:41How many hurricanes?
00:42Eight of them.
00:43The last one on October 23rd, we've had 10.
00:45How many majors?
00:47Four.
00:48And that is last one's October 22nd.
00:51We've had double that.
00:52So it shows you how busy it has been.
00:55You can see the tracks of those storms as well.
00:58And unfortunately, they've been a lot of them close to the western coast of Mexico and some impacts.
01:05Certainly Baja, California.
01:07And it's already been a pretty busy hurricane season in the central Pacific with Hawaii getting impact from multiple storms.
01:16Now, we are tracking two storms for you here today.
01:19You have Simon, south of Baja California, and Trudy.
01:25We'll take them one by one.
01:26There's Simon.
01:27It is going to lose wind intensity, but it is going to have impacts on Baja California as it does
01:33lose some wind intensity.
01:34And some of its moisture will come across Mexico and perhaps even in the southwest Texas as we head toward
01:41the weekend.
01:42This is Trudy, which once again is going to cause problems along the Mexican coast.
