00:00What a hurricane season we're having in the eastern Pacific.
00:04Here's the latest tally.
00:05Do the math.
00:06You almost need a calculator.
00:0817 named storms.
00:09Now, of those 17 named storms, we've had nine hurricanes, and seven of those nine hurricanes
00:15have been major hurricanes.
00:17That's category three or greater.
00:20That's at least 111 mile per hour winds.
00:23So let's look at this by the numbers, just to give you an idea.
00:27We average 15 named storms in the eastern Pacific, with the last named storm historically
00:34being added on November 5th.
00:36So we've already blown past that.
00:38We have 17.
00:38The last hurricane in the eastern Pacific is typically around the 23rd of October.
00:44Eight of them, we already have nine.
00:46How about this?
00:47Four major hurricanes, the last one being on October 22nd, we already have seven.
00:51I mean, that's how busy it's been in the eastern Atlantic.
00:54Now, in the eastern Pacific, tracking a couple of storms.
00:57Now, NOLO, which is way out here, is not included in those numbers.
01:01That was a central Pacific storm that's still causing some locally heavy rain across Nihau
01:07and Kauai, westernmost islands of Hawaii.
01:10And then you have, Rachel, that was our latest, that was the latest major hurricane we've had.
01:19There it is, as it's moving to the west.
01:21That's the key.
01:21It's moving away from Mexico.
01:24We'll continue to track, Rachel, moving away, curling to the north and west, should stay away from Hawaii.
01:30We'll keep an eye on that.
01:31Now, we're already eyeing the next storm.
01:34Nothing yet, but you can see that area of showers and thunderstorms to the south of Central America.
01:40That's getting better organized.
01:41That will likely be our next storm.
01:43Now, we're going to have to watch this, because I think by the middle part of next week,
01:47it may make landfall in Mexico, and it could have impacts in the United States.
