00:00In this video I will show you how to enable my Windows Defender. To get started from your desktop
00:06what you want to do is come down to your search box in the task at the bottom and in
00:10here you
00:11want to type Windows Security. Open up Windows Security underneath best match and what it's
00:16going to do is open a window like this. From here what you want to do is click onto virus
00:21and threat protection and then what you want to do is come down to the virus and threat protection
00:26section and click on to manage settings. Now on the next screen you want to make sure
00:30real-time protection is enabled so it's going to turn on your Windows Defender. I would recommend
00:36turning on the additional options such as Depth Drive Protection, Cloud Deliver Protection and
00:41Tamper Protection as well. Once you've done that if you scroll down a little bit further to the
00:45controlled folder access what I would recommend doing is clicking the link here to manage controlled
00:50folder access and turning this option on which is going to protect your files, folders and
00:55memory areas on your device. So once you've done that I would also recommend checking to make sure
01:00you have updated your Windows Defender so make sure to check for any updates to make sure you have the
01:05latest version. To do that come back to the main screen so if you click on home on the left
01:09hand
01:09side and again you want to click onto virus and threat protection and from here scroll down where
01:14you're going to see a section about virus and threat protection updates. Now what you want to do is
01:19click the link here for protection updates and then click to check for any updates and of course if
01:24there's any updates available you want to make sure you update to the latest version of Windows Defender
01:28you can see my case it's up to date but make sure you are running the latest version to protect
01:34your
01:34computer or laptop from any viruses or things like that. So that's how to enable my Windows Defender
