00:00Magic Johnson's Twitter feed, and by the way,
00:03not just legendary NBA player Magic Johnson,
00:06co-owner of the Commanders.
00:08His Twitter feed is usually a joke.
00:10It's like the old AP Sports Wire,
00:12where he just reports sports scores.
00:14He murdered Dan Quinn.
00:17Magic Johnson hasn't said a bad word about anyone ever.
00:27We got to stop the clock.
00:28We got to know it's an ozone situation.
00:31We got to relay that as an offense.
00:33It starts from everybody top down.
00:36But ultimately, you know, it's on me.
00:38Leaving tonight with a tie feels like a loss.
00:41The right call is honestly, we can go clock it early.
00:43And don't put ourselves in that spot.
00:45And that is my responsibility, nobody else's.
00:49I'm really just grateful that it was a tie.
00:54I guess that's the first tie that I've been a part of.
00:57Was it a win?
00:59No.
01:00Was it a loss?
01:01No.
01:02It was a tie.
01:03How does that make you feel?
01:05I'm happy it wasn't a loss.
01:06And I'm sad it wasn't a win.
01:09So...
01:09Dan Quinn!
01:11Dan Quinn!
01:12Dan Quinn!
01:14That was the single worst example of in-game coaching in the history of the National Football League.
01:22That was coaching malpractice.
01:25That was unequivocally a fireable offense.
01:29I am genuinely stunned that Dan Quinn today is still employed after he embarrassed himself and defied sports and math
01:38and logic.
01:38What transpired at the end of overtime, if you're a Commanders fan, you have to be sick.
01:45The fact that they were in position for a game-winning field goal and they couldn't even get the field
01:52goal unit on the field and they had plenty of time, didn't have to get into field goal range, they
01:57were already there.
01:58That was the hottest of messes we've ever seen in the history of the National Football League.
02:05Coaching malpractice.
02:07Dan Quinn should be relieved of his duties now.
02:12Dumb and dumber.
02:14My goodness.
02:16And I think it's important here, from the perspective of Washington and how this ultimately transpired, to go back on
02:24a few things.
02:25Number one, they had a 14-point lead.
02:28They were up by 14 and they blew it.
02:32So, this was already a catastrophic mess.
02:35The field was sloppy.
02:38Weather was a factor.
02:39It was rain.
02:40It was soggy.
02:42Kickers are missing kicks for the Giants left and right.
02:46You had a 14-point lead.
02:48Jameis Winston in the first half was not playing well at all and you blew it.
02:52And credit Winston, he was fantastic in the second half.
02:56Credit Likely.
02:57Credit Neighbors.
02:58You saw the Giants and Jameis Winston tie it up after they blew that 14-point lead with 143 to
03:06go.
03:06And I think that's all important here.
03:08And you go into overtime.
03:10And you go into overtime and you see the Giants kicker, Dominic Zavada, miss a 46-yard field goal.
03:20So, he missed three field goals in this game.
03:24Missed three field goals in this game.
03:27This is all important here.
03:29So, the Giants defense then forces a three and out.
03:33So, the Giants get the ball.
03:3567-yard drive.
03:36And they're in field goal range.
03:41But, I'm not criticizing John Harbaugh at all.
03:45I agree with this every step of the way.
03:47They want to get a little bit closer because in this slop fest, in the rain, in the bad weather,
03:53Zavada can't make a kick.
03:55So, they want to try and get as close as possible.
03:59Right coaching move from a Giants perspective.
04:02And Cam Scadaboo does the unthinkable.
04:05He fumbles the football.
04:07That can't happen.
04:09Scat, you got to hold on to the damn ball.
04:12That is literally your one job.
04:15And if you're a Giants fan, you're deflated.
04:18Can't believe this is how it's going to end.
04:20Kicker can't kick.
04:21Scat drops the ball.
04:23You can't cough it up in that spot.
04:25You cannot cough it up.
04:29The Washington Commanders get the ball.
04:32They recover the fumble.
04:33They march down the field for a place to the Giants 26.
04:40Field goal range.
04:42They're there.
04:43They don't have to work more after that.
04:46They just have to run the clock down.
04:50End the game with an attempt at a game-winning field goal.
04:571-0-2 to go.
04:59Daniels goes out of bounds.
05:01They opt on the next play to run the ball with White for a couple of yards.
05:06I'll tell you what I would have done.
05:08First guess, watching the game.
05:10I would have basically had Jaden Daniels take a knee.
05:15That's the play.
05:16Then after he takes a knee, I bleed the clock all the way down, spike it.
05:23That's what I would do.
05:25100% to stop the clock.
05:29Utilize the clock as your friend.
05:32This way, you don't have to have the field goal unit rush on.
05:38Instead, you saw everything that happened with White, where he ultimately runs for two.
05:4355 seconds.
05:44Play clock goes all the way down, down to four.
05:4713 seconds left.
05:50Daniels scrambles.
05:51I couldn't believe it.
05:53It was like they were just playing without a care in the world.
05:56You could see this develop.
05:58And if you're watching on the Fox broadcast, Dan Quinn isn't yelling at anybody.
06:04Dan Quinn isn't screaming.
06:06There is no sense of urgency.
06:08No one has any idea what the hell's going on.
06:12Never seen anything like this.
06:14So it goes all the way down, and they can't run a final play and spike the ball to stop
06:20the clock at the end to get the field goal unit on.
06:24Embarrassing.
06:25Absolutely embarrassing.
06:26I do not blame Jaden Daniels at all.
06:29He's listening to his coach.
06:31By the way, they got rid of Cliff Kingsbury as an offensive coordinator.
06:35They bring in David Blau, who's completely overmatched and should not be an offensive coordinator in the National Football League.
06:42And what have I always said about Dan Quinn?
06:45I don't like Dan Quinn.
06:46I don't think he's a great coach.
06:48Great defensive coordinator?
06:50Sure.
06:50Go ask an Atlanta Falcon fan how he managed the biggest collapse in Super Bowl history.
06:55He has never been great with situational football.
06:59And this, this is the worst example ever, ever in the history of the National Football League.
07:06You didn't have to get into field goal range.
07:09You were already in field goal range.
07:11There is even a case.
07:13I would not have done it.
07:14We could have had a conversation about it.
07:16Could you have even attempted the field goal earlier?
07:19Like you could, we could have a rational discussion about it.
07:22But I would have, again, first guess if I'm going to say the coach should be fired.
07:27Basically, take a knee with Daniels.
07:29Run the ball with Daniels.
07:30It's wet.
07:31It's raining.
07:33I'm not even putting the ball in the running backs hands.
07:35Just take a knee.
07:37Go down.
07:38Then let the clock run down.
07:39Spike it.
07:40Field goal unit on.
07:42Kick a field goal.
07:43Commanders win.
07:44And remember, Dallas had lost.
07:47Philly had lost.
07:48An opportunity for Washington to remind everyone we have Jaden Daniels.
07:53We're going to be just fine.
07:55Instead, this man.
07:59If I'm a Washington Commanders fan or if I just like sports or logic or math, I am sick
08:04to my stomach.
08:05Absolutely sick to my stomach.
08:08Now there's officially an expiration date on Dan Quinn, who I thought would have been
08:12fired anyway.
08:12I've been outspoken on that.
08:14He can't survive this.
08:16The only question is when.
08:18Today?
08:19Tomorrow?
08:20When they lose next week?
08:22Thanksgiving?
08:23Black Monday when the season ends?
08:25It's over for Dan Quinn.
08:27Absolutely over.
08:28By the way, if you're a Giants fan, I'm going to stress the positive here.
08:34Seriously.
08:35You go on the road.
08:36The other coach completely failed.
08:38You know, the weather was awful.
08:40You had this unbelievable comeback.
08:42Look.
08:43I like the kicker.
08:45I'm willing to give him a pass for now.
08:47See what he does in the next game because the conditions were so awful and they were so sloppy
08:52and they were so not friendly to be a kicker in the National Football League.
08:57Scadaboo would bother the hell out of me.
08:59You have one job.
09:01Okay.
09:01And Scadaboo who at times is more interested in doing backflips than playing football.
09:06That would bother me if I'm a Giants fan.
09:09Okay.
09:09Scadaboo has to be able to hold on to that ball.
09:11I have little tolerance for Scadaboo and his act.
09:14You want to act like you're a tough guy and a punk.
09:17You got to protect the ball.
09:19That is literally your job in that spot.
09:22But this is yet again another example of John Harbaugh versus everyone else in the division.
09:29I mean look at Harbaugh versus Schottenheimer.
09:32Harbaugh versus Sirianni.
09:34Harbaugh versus Quinn.
09:35It's not even a fair fight in terms of the Giants having clearly the best coach in the division.
09:43It's been a minute.
09:44It's like a decade plus since a Giants fan has been able to say that.
09:49So if I'm a Commanders fan, I'm sick.
09:53I'm livid.
09:54I'm disgusted.
09:55Another example why this franchise is completely on the road to nowhere.
10:00When Magic Johnson is taking to Twitter and he's murdering you, that's all you need to know.
10:07It's over.
10:08Completely over.
10:10His Twitter feed is normally like the Associated Press Newswire just spitting out facts.
10:15When Magic is saying it's unacceptable.
10:18Please.
10:19That's awful.
10:20Absolutely.
10:21Positively.
10:22Awful.
10:23We'll get back to the rest of week five of the NFL in just a few.
10:25But first, American League Championship Series.
10:28It's underway in Tampa tonight between the guards and the Rays.
10:32Here's the prediction.
10:33I think the Rays behind Rasmussen win tonight.
10:37I think the Rays beat the guards in six.
10:40Give the guards a ton of credit for coming back in their series against Chicago in the fashion that they
10:47did.
10:47And I thought, you know, originally, if you remember, I picked the Guardians in five.
10:53Then the White Sox took those first couple of games and I wasn't quite sure that the guards were going
10:58to have the ability to come back.
11:00The Rays, the way they play, it's just great for your sports zone.
11:05Excellent pitching.
11:07Great starters.
11:08Solid relief.
11:09Caminera's a stud.
11:10They don't beat themselves.
11:12I wish they would get rid of that dopey troppin.
11:14They will at some point.
11:15Kevin Cash is unbelievable.
11:16So I'll take the Rays tonight and I'll take Tampa in six games.
11:21Coming up, the errors are beginning to pile up for Nick Ceriani.
11:25Must have been a long flight back to London, sitting in a hot seat.
11:30My Monday musings on the Sunday that was in the NFL.
11:33Next.
11:40I didn't make the right decision and I lost this that game.
11:43And that's what I said to our guys.
11:46And what hurts there is that, you know, the guys fought so hard and then I don't make the decision
11:52that, you know, that I should make it that end of the game.
11:56And I cost us that one, that game.
11:58And I put that fully on me.
12:00Nick Ceriani didn't learn from what Brian Scheinheimer did a few weeks ago in Rio.
12:05How do you do that?
12:07Eight seconds to go and you kick off to Amir Abdullah?
12:12The hell's going on here?
12:14The game should have been over when the Eagles took the lead 17-16 on Jake Elliott's 48-yard field
12:20goal.
12:21Eight seconds to go.
12:22How in the world do you kick off to Abdullah?
12:26And I know that it got called back because of the penalty and then Trotter gets kicked out of the
12:31game.
12:32But he already returned one.
12:34It didn't count earlier in the game.
12:36And Abdullah's excellent on special teams.
12:38Not to mention this guy, Cam Little.
12:41The guy's unbelievable.
12:44He's got a huge leg.
12:46So why wouldn't you bomb it out of the end zone?
12:50Why wouldn't you squib it?
12:52There were a thousand different things to do, but not this.
12:56And of course, Nick Ceriani should take blame.
12:59And honestly, I felt for Jalen Hurts.
13:02I thought that Hurts played his ass off yesterday with no offensive line, no Barkley, no Smith.
13:09And I thought he played well under the circumstance.
13:13We had a couple of big time throws.
13:15They deserve so much better.
13:17The Eagles fans, the amazing fans of the Philadelphia Eagles deserve so much better than this.
13:22You know, Jacksonville.
13:23And you know that I thought Jacksonville going into this week, best team in the AFC.
13:28This wasn't even about the Jacksonville Jaguars.
13:30No, not in any way, shape or form.
13:32This was about Philly melting down.
13:34That's what this was about.
13:36I mean, the long snapper for Jacksonville was hurt.
13:38Liam Cohen coached a horrendous game.
13:41There's not a Jags fan in America or London who feels good about this win.
13:46This is all about Philadelphia.
13:49I mean, and by the way, Ceriani could have done a better job bleeding the clock down on
13:55the drive when Elliott kicked that field goal.
13:59Amateur hour repulsive.
14:01I understand Nick Ceriani won a Super Bowl and he should always be given credit for it.
14:07That doesn't make him Don Shula.
14:09That doesn't make him Tom Landry.
14:11That doesn't make him Bill Belichick or Andy Reid or Vince Lombardi or Jimmy Johnson.
14:16Doesn't make him John Madden.
14:18It makes him Doug Peterson.
14:20He won a Super Bowl in Philadelphia.
14:21But it doesn't mean there's a lifetime appointment.
14:24This team is two and three.
14:25They're on a road to nowhere.
14:27And this is a game on ebb and flow.
14:31Different head coach.
14:32They should have won.
14:34This team is so poorly coached.
14:39Nick Ceriani should go door to door and apologize to every single Philadelphia Eagles fan for
14:47the way he coached that game.
14:49From embarrassment to excellence.
14:51Many time zones away in Seattle.
14:53The 49ers escape with a win over the Seahawks in a truly amazing wild back and forth game
14:58that featured seven turnovers.
15:0049ers are now 5-0.
15:03Three of those wins against divisional opponents.
15:05Brock Purdy.
15:07He's my MVP.
15:09Brock Tober rolls on.
15:11Listen.
15:11You look at what Brock Purdy was able to do.
15:13This is why he's the MVP.
15:16Right?
15:16Look at the numbers.
15:18Good.
15:18Good numbers.
15:20But it's what he did in the fourth quarter in Seattle.
15:24That's why he's the MVP.
15:26All those throws.
15:27All those plays to Mike Evans.
15:30The way he stepped up in the pocket and was able to find a sliding.
15:33Brandon Cooks.
15:35Love that signing by John Lynch with all the injuries that they have.
15:39Brock Purdy played his best when it mattered the most.
15:42This is why on one of our first ever editions of Shine Time.
15:46We said Mike Evans was going to make an impact like no other newbie during the free agency period.
15:54We said that.
15:55You could check the YouTube page.
15:56You're seeing it.
15:57I also love when Mike Evans did the look at the back of the jersey on Diggs.
16:02Who are you, bro?
16:04I loved every single second of that.
16:06Brock Purdy is the MVP.
16:07It's not even close.
16:09And I got to give San Francisco a ton of credit for the calm.
16:14They were the calmer team.
16:16Seattle, for a team that just won a championship, they were too frenzied.
16:20I mean, where do you want to start?
16:22You know, Sam Darnold, who I love, had a couple of picks.
16:24JSN had the drop at the end.
16:26I thought they got it right on the spot with Cooper Cup in the fourth quarter, latter stages.
16:33I thought Kevin Burkhart, Tom Brady, Dean Blandino did a wonderful job on the NFL on Fox,
16:39explaining why that was not going to be overturned and why that was the right call.
16:43The end of the first half was amateur hour.
16:47I mean, you just need to take a knee, run out the clock.
16:51And the fact that George Lani fumbled and you saw the defensive tackle from the 49ers strip them.
16:59Big man touchdown.
17:00Big man celebration.
17:02Seven free points at the end of the half.
17:05Just take a knee.
17:07But that's San Francisco 49er football.
17:10They find a way.
17:11Gracian makes the unbelievable play and able to scoop and score and they started doing a dance.
17:17A little big man dance, a little big man touchdown.
17:19Love that.
17:205-0.
17:215-0.
17:22Listen, Niners are the best team in the NFL.
17:25Not Kansas City, not Jacksonville, not anyone else who are throwing to the mix.
17:29Remember, too, and we talked about this in preparation for this game last week.
17:33San Francisco, last year, end of the regular season, lost in Seattle.
17:38San Francisco got destroyed in Seattle in the division round of the playoffs.
17:43So, the fact that they were able to win this game like this, that tells you everything.
17:48And they're still dealing with all these injuries, all this adversity, and they're 5-0.
17:53That's coaching.
17:54That's Purdy.
17:55That's McCaffrey.
17:56That's Kittle.
17:57That's Trent Williams.
17:58That's Fred Warner.
17:59That's leadership.
18:00That's being buttoned up.
18:02That's next man up.
18:03Here's the veteran Brandon Cooks.
18:04He comes in.
18:05Sliding catch back in the end zone.
18:07The San Francisco 49ers, as we speak right now, are unequivocally the best team in the
18:14NFL.
18:14And the season does not end today.
18:17But if it did, Brock Purdy is the MVP.
18:20And I don't even think it's close.
18:22By the way, Seattle made a conscious choice to let Kenneth Walker go in free agency.
18:27Now, they drafted Price.
18:29He's hurt.
18:29They knew that Charbonnet was going to take him a minute to get back from a major injury
18:33that he suffered in the postseason.
18:35Listen, they miss Kenneth Walker.
18:38There is no question about it.
18:39And we talked about that in real time.
18:41I knew they weren't going to pay him.
18:42I didn't mean I liked it from a Seattle Seahawks perspective.
18:45That was a little too sloppy from a Seahawks standpoint with the interceptions by Darnold,
18:52the fumble at the end of the half, the JSN drop.
18:54You expect better from a Mike McDonald coach team, which really underscores just how buttoned
19:00up and how strong the 49ers and Kyle Shanahan and my guy, Brock Purdy, were yesterday.
19:07The Green Bay Packers put the smackdown on the Chicago Bears yesterday at Lambeau.
19:10I think Jordan Love had the best game of his career.
19:13Joining Ben Roethlisberger as one of only two players with five completions of 30-plus
19:18air yards a single game since ESPN began tracking the metric back in 2006.
19:25And listen, I think you have to first and foremost start by praising the Packers.
19:31Because Love was amazing.
19:34The numbers on the screen right there, phenomenal.
19:37Didn't make dumb throws.
19:39His deep ball had precision.
19:41Utilized both receivers brilliantly.
19:44Watson, six catches, 143 yards, couple touchdowns.
19:47They had a great rapport.
19:49The Golden Rapport, Matthew Golden, was terrific.
19:53Six catches, 123 yards.
19:55The defense was flying around.
19:56And this mattered to Matt LaFleur.
19:58And I've always defended Matt LaFleur.
20:00I'm not a Brian Gunakis guy.
20:02I'm not a Jordan Love guy.
20:03I thought Love was fabulous and phenomenal in the ball game yesterday.
20:07Matt LaFleur, though, is a great coach.
20:10And he and his team ready.
20:11They're playing at home.
20:12They've already outkicked my expectations for wins in the first five weeks.
20:16I've got to give LaFleur all the credit in the world.
20:19Jonathan Gannon had the defense flying around.
20:21I mean, they didn't just win.
20:24They murdered the Bears.
20:27Destroyed the Bears.
20:28Suffocated the Bears.
20:30And Ben Johnson takes a hit.
20:32And I love Ben Johnson.
20:33Ben Johnson and Matt LaFleur hate each other.
20:34And we know what happened at the introductory press conference.
20:37You know, Ben Johnson likes beating Matt LaFleur a couple times a year.
20:41And then he did it last year.
20:42Regular season and then in the postseason.
20:44I mean, that handshake was frosty.
20:46LaFleur kept running it up.
20:47Good for him.
20:48Ben Johnson's ridiculously cocky.
20:51And arrogant.
20:53But backs it up.
20:54And his team backs it up.
20:55Listen.
20:56Credit the Packers.
20:57Tyson Bajor was awful.
20:58Absolutely awful.
21:00They didn't have Mononga.
21:01The offensive line was terrible.
21:03The lowest yards per play in Ben Johnson's career.
21:07Either as a head coach or as an offensive play caller.
21:09That's all you need to know.
21:1131-7.
21:13That was an example of getting punked.
21:16They got punched out.
21:18That was a terrific performance by the Green Bay Packers.
21:22You could do nothing here but stress the positive.
21:25Now, doesn't mean I'm changing my tune on what the Bears are going to look like when Caleb Williams comes
21:30back.
21:30Doesn't mean I'm changing my tune big picture on Green Bay.
21:33But that result got my attention.
21:36And I thought even with the backup quarterback, Chicago was going to win that game.
21:41And win it by 7-10 points.
21:43And absolutely for a team in the Packers that was ripe to be knocked out, absolutely deliver a death blow.
21:49Instead, it was the exact opposite.
21:51If you're a fan of the Green Bay Packers, man, enjoy this one.
21:55That was a drubbing against your hated rival.
21:59Excellent stuff from Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur.
22:02More great quarterback play was on display at Foxborough where Drake May dominated the Vegas Raiders 45-17.
22:09I mean, Fernando Mendoza made his NFL debut in garbage time after Kirk Cousins turned back into a pumpkin.
22:16But the story is Drake May.
22:18And listen, when you look at Drake May, and it needs to be stressed, five total touchdowns yesterday, zero interceptions,
22:25zero turnovers.
22:26I thought last week against Buffalo, the Bills gave Drake May life.
22:34I did not say he was back.
22:36Now, Drake May is back.
22:38And here's the thing, because you watch the show, I read the YouTube comments, I read all the Instagram comments,
22:44the X comments, all the comments.
22:46I love Drake May.
22:48I voted Drake May number two on my list for league MVP last year.
22:55And that's the highest accomplishment.
22:57Stafford one, Drake May two.
22:59On shine time, in the summertime, even after Drake May was awful in all four playoff games last year.
23:06All four.
23:07I went into the year and said, for 2026, he's the seventh best quarterback in the NFL.
23:11Head of Caleb Williams, head of Jalen Hurts, head of my guy, Brock Purdy.
23:15I love Drake May.
23:17Drake May, the first three weeks, played like Zach Wilson.
23:20Statistically, eyeball test, one touchdown, seven turnovers, first three weeks.
23:27The Buffalo game, Buffalo let him off the hook.
23:30Threw that game-winning touchdown, one-handed grab.
23:33Efton Chisholm, if that's even a real person.
23:36This week, against the Raiders, a team that was piping hot, very confident.
23:40And then, Max Crosby and company could do some damage.
23:44That's the Drake May is back game.
23:46Now, Drake May is back to being that great quarterback, that reliable quarterback.
23:52Watching that entire game yesterday, you could see the swagger's back, the confidence is back, the zip on the fastball's
23:58back, you know, the way he was able to distribute the ball.
24:01And I want to stress again, no A.J. Brown.
24:04So, give Drake May all the credit in the world.
24:07That was a monster deal, if you're a fan of the New England Patriots.
24:11Jeremiah Harbaugh is at a loss, or five to be exact, after falling to the Broncos at home on Sunday.
24:20When you're 0-5, what is the message that works, you know, that kind of gets through, or is there
24:27one?
24:30Yeah, I don't know what that message is.
24:34Jim Harbaugh couldn't answer questions at his press conference.
24:37Jim Harbaugh is an amazing coach.
24:40We could talk about what he did in college, Stanford.
24:46We could talk about how he resurrected the 49ers.
24:48He was amazing.
24:49We could talk about winning championship at Michigan.
24:51We could talk about the first couple of years he was in L.A. with the Chargers.
24:56They're now 0-5.
24:58And when you look at the nuggets of futility here for the Chargers and what transpired yesterday,
25:03Bo Nix was awful, Sean Payton's offense was awful, and Harbaugh screwed everything up.
25:10They were up 17-10, 10-33 remaining.
25:14And Harbaugh inexplicably opted to go for it on fourth and one from his own 41.
25:23Why wouldn't you punt?
25:26The Chargers defense was playing well.
25:29The Broncos offense, even with Sean Payton back on the plays, was broken.
25:32And look at the nuggets of futility on the screen for Justin Herbert.
25:38Fifth straight game with a fourth-quarter turnover.
25:42I mean, it's embarrassing.
25:45And look, we could talk about the injuries on the offensive line,
25:47and Ian Eagle and Ross Tucker did a brilliant job on this on the NFL and CBS.
25:52You know, they got four rookies playing.
25:54This game was on Harbaugh.
25:56And the fact that they're the first team in the history of the league to start 0-5 after consecutive
26:01years of winning 11 or more games,
26:04that's on Harbaugh.
26:05We can rip Herbert.
26:06We do.
26:07We can rip Mike McDaniel.
26:08We do.
26:09We can rip the defense, the injuries.
26:11We can praise the competition.
26:13This specific game was on Harbaugh.
26:17What a mess.
26:19What a disaster.
26:20The Chargers had a chance to save face and kind of save the season.
26:26Now, it's over.
26:28The Texans got their first win of the season, as predicted here on Shine Time.
26:32And D'Amico Ryans had some news to share after the game.
26:41You guys wanted to know, huh?
26:44Yes.
26:45All right.
26:45We traded for Marvin Harrison.
26:47See ya.
26:50Known NFL insider, D'Amico Ryans.
26:54So, this is one of those trades where you kind of need a second to really break this one down.
27:02First of all, I think the Houston Texans, by winning that game, are officially back in the conversation for everything.
27:12Let's just throw that out there.
27:14I know it's the Titans.
27:15The Titans are atrocious.
27:16But I expect the Texans to play winning football.
27:21When the Texans lose, I'm always surprised.
27:23They have great players on defense.
27:26And D'Amico Ryans, a fabulous coach, took over the play calling duties once again.
27:30They go to Nashville, beat their rivals, destroy them.
27:33And then they make this trade for Marvin Harrison Jr.
27:37I feel compelled to say this.
27:39The Cardinals made an excellent trade.
27:41Marvin Harrison Jr., they took him fourth overall.
27:44That was a draft loaded with great players.
27:46Malik Nabors was in it.
27:48I talked to Monty Austin for it, their general manager on my SiriusXM radio show, right after.
27:52He thought about other players, thought briefly about trading down, phone lines burning up.
27:56Marvin Harrison, he had graded as an A++.
27:59Like it was a no-brainer selection.
28:01And I agreed with him.
28:03Harrison has been an abject failure, a disaster.
28:06He has done nothing.
28:08For the Texans, I get it.
28:11They give up a second round pick, which by the way, they're a team that's one and four.
28:15So for Arizona, you're thinking this could at least be, worst case scenario, middle of the second round.
28:21You could also use that to trade up in the draft.
28:24You're going to get probably a top three, four pick in the draft.
28:28Maybe you're in position to get your quarterback.
28:29Maybe you could trade up to one and get Jeremiah Smith, ironically enough, to replace Marvin Harrison.
28:35We have plenty of time to do that from an Arizona perspective.
28:39The fact that they got a two is miraculous.
28:41Because Marvin Harrison has done nothing, nothing in two and a half years in the NFL.
28:47Not a thing.
28:48But if you're Houston, I get it.
28:51Because when he was in college, who was his quarterback throwing him the ball brilliantly?
28:55C.J. Stroud, who's now the Texans quarterback, obviously.
28:59So, C.J. Stroud, you don't have to wonder aloud about will he have chemistry with Marvin Harrison Jr.?
29:06We know it.
29:07We've seen it.
29:08You're making this trade for the Ohio State version, not the Arizona Cardinal version.
29:14And listen, if you're Arizona, the trade makes sense because you're trading an all-time bust
29:19and you got a second round pick.
29:21Sometimes you just know.
29:23You know, Trey Lance, years ago, Niners gave up everything, all these first round picks,
29:27to go up and get him the third overall pick.
29:29They had to deal him for a day three pick, fourth round pick to the Dallas Cowboys.
29:33We've seen, you know, the Jets knew Zach Wilson.
29:35It was time to go.
29:36We got to get this guy the hell off the team.
29:39You know, selling low on Marvin Harrison Jr. would have never made sense.
29:42They got a second round pick.
29:44I think he's going to be great for Houston.
29:46I do.
29:46By the way, he never had an agent.
29:48I know his dad is a Hall of Famer.
29:50You know, very weird that that was the case.
29:52He just signed Todd France from Athletes First, who's one of the best in the business,
29:56represents Dak Prescott as an example.
29:58I think that that's a smart move in terms of maturity here and finding someone else
30:05to handle your business so you could focus and put the blinders on and solely deal with
30:10ball.
30:11I think Stroud is going to be great for him.
30:13I think he's going to be great for Stroud.
30:16D'Amico Rides is a special coach, maximizes people, maximizes players.
30:21D'Amico's an unbelievable human, great for X's and O's.
30:25You know, players love playing for him.
30:26So, I think this is going to work out incredibly well.
30:30We'll see the level, ultimately.
30:32And it's going to have to make an immediate impact, of course.
30:34But I thought this was a truly strong deal by both teams.
30:40And I'm so into it from a Texan standpoint because of the Stroud-Harrison Jr., Ohio State
30:48connection.
30:49The Jets got back in the win column against the Red Hot Browns on Sunday at Rain Soak MetLife
30:54Stadium.
30:55The story of the game for New York was the dominance of rookie David Bailey, who sacked
30:59Deshaun Watson three times.
31:02And he was everywhere.
31:04He was a tackling machine, hit the quarterback nonstop.
31:08And listen, with all the back and forth, Reese versus Bailey, Bailey versus Reese, there
31:14are a lot of smart people, myself included, who had Reese ranked higher for the NFL draft
31:21and thought the Jets should have picked Reese.
31:22Reese, Reese for the Giants, was off to this unbelievable start.
31:26And they needed this kind of performance.
31:29And Bailey really took over the game.
31:31I just love that the Jets won, how the Jets won.
31:35When Watson was able to hit Boston on that bomb to take the lead.
31:41It was one of those, and he just said, maybe everything's coming up Cleveland Browns.
31:46And this is just a charmed football team.
31:48The fact that they were able to win, the fact that they were able to persevere, the fact
31:53that Geno Smith couldn't get enough, the Garrett Wilson spin for the touchdown, give Aaron Glenn
31:59much maligned a lot of credit.
32:01But really, I can't stop thinking about Bailey.
32:05Because I think if you're a Jets fan, you are waiting for him to flash.
32:10And when I say flash, take over a game.
32:13Dominate.
32:14And the Browns came in as a 3-1 team.
32:16You know, they are what they are.
32:17Jets were favored in Vegas.
32:19I picked Cleveland.
32:20I was wrong.
32:21Thrilled to be wrong.
32:23Thrilled how the Jets won, that they won.
32:25And most especially, Bailey played like the number two pick in the draft.
32:30That's exactly what you needed to see if you're a Jets fan.
32:34The Ravens without Lamar Jackson came back to beat the Falcons in overtime on Sunday Night
32:38Football.
32:38The win was a surprise to many, but not Derrick Henry.
32:42And I do want to say, I saw a post on Instagram, Baltimore Sun.
32:48There weren't a lot of y'all picking us to win too.
32:51And yeah, you were one of them.
32:53I can wait for this moment.
32:55I don't know if I've seen you.
32:56I'm going to go back and look because I saved it, but yeah.
33:00Yeah.
33:01I love that.
33:02I mean, here it is, right?
33:04The King.
33:05Future Hall of Famer.
33:07And he's still reading the Baltimore Sun.
33:10He's still looking at who the writers are picking a win on the Baltimore Sun Instagram.
33:16And everyone was picking Atlanta.
33:18I picked Atlanta.
33:19By the way, the game, the flow all favored Atlanta.
33:24How about this?
33:24NFL teams had won the last 581 games up by eight or more points in the final minute.
33:33I expected the Falcons to hold on and win.
33:36Falcons first loss up eight or more points in the final minute since they blew it to the
33:41Patriots in the worst Super Bowl collapse we've ever seen.
33:45I got to do nothing here but give Baltimore credit.
33:49And when you look at what Snoop was able to do as the backup quarterback, he's so good.
33:54Huntley is just amazing.
33:56I give him so much credit in terms of always being ready.
33:59And he's a winning ball player.
34:01And the way they were able to persevere.
34:03Then they go into overtime and they drain the clock.
34:05The whole thing was incredible.
34:07Hamilton is a special player on defense.
34:09And honestly, it's a bad loss by the Falcons.
34:13They played with their food a little too much.
34:16Very disappointed in Atlanta.
34:18Who I thought, and remember, I picked them against Green Bay to win.
34:21Picked them against New Orleans to win.
34:22I thought they could and should and would win this game.
34:26You know, Penix to Jake Matthews.
34:28The tackle, you know, he didn't catch the ball.
34:31Left a lot of points on the field and they messed around and they found out.
34:36Then Penix got dinged at the end of regulation.
34:39So, of course, Tua had to come in.
34:42Threw an interception to seal the game.
34:44Why would you even sign Tua Tungvalu in the first place?
34:47We've been over this.
34:49Gutty, gritty, noteworthy loss for...
34:52Gutty, gritty win for the Baltimore Ravens.
34:56Noteworthy loss for the Atlanta Falcons.
34:58I think it speaks volumes about the inner fortitude here of Baltimore.
35:03Very disappointed from an Atlanta Falcons perspective that they lost
35:07and how this game unfolded.
35:09The New York Rangers got some terrible news, but is their season over?
35:13Plus, we discussed the college football weekend on Monday Night Football Pick
35:16next on Shine Time.
35:20Rangers goalie Igor Shusterkin suffered a season-ending right knee injury on Friday.
35:26Dashing all the hopes of the Blue Shirts fans after the team had gotten off to such a strong start.
35:31When I saw this news and Molly Walker from the Post broke this story, honestly, I was crushed.
35:39Absolutely crushed.
35:40Not that I thought the Rangers were going to sustain this unbelievable pace,
35:45but it was all there for the Blue Shirts to take a monster step forward this year
35:50and make the playoffs.
35:52And Shusterkin is so great.
35:54And when you have a goalie like that that inspires so much confidence,
35:59everything else can fall into place.
36:02And look, I know the Venn diagram for sports fandom in New York can go in a lot of different
36:09ways.
36:10But for those that are fans of the Knicks, the Rangers, the Giants, and the Yankees,
36:18which is a popular foursome based upon geography for a lot of people and who they root for,
36:25I know a lot of people are wondering aloud if maybe someone who's a long-suffering Knicks fan made a
36:32deal with the devil.
36:33Just give me one and then you can have the Yankees and Aaron Judge misses 100 games.
36:40You can have the Giants for the year and Jackson darts after the Dallas game.
36:45He's done for the year.
36:46And Brian Burns, best player on the team, is done for the year.
36:53I don't know.
36:55And then I saw Shusterkin.
36:56You know, I don't usually believe in these kind of things.
36:59But all of a sudden you have Judge.
37:01You have Burns.
37:03You have darts.
37:04You have Shusterkin.
37:06I'm not saying it's about a higher power.
37:10But I'm not ruling it out.
37:13Knicks in five, baby.
37:15College football.
37:16Jeremiah Smith.
37:18Heisman.
37:18It's over.
37:20Another two-touchdown game on Saturday in Ohio State's destruction over Maryland and Columbus.
37:26And I'll tell you, these numbers, I mean, it tells you everything you need to know.
37:30And you look at the Heisman odds, we're calling it.
37:33We're calling it.
37:35We've talked about Smith as the Heisman Trophy winner forever.
37:38We talked to Josh Pate about this from ESPN.
37:41We joined this preseason.
37:42You take a look at what the odds say and what Jeremiah Smith brings to the table.
37:49Look at how favored he is in Vegas.
37:52I mean, it's crazy.
37:54He is running away with the odds.
37:57You see him right here.
37:58You understand that Jeremiah Smith at this stage, there's not a quarterback who could catch him.
38:04There's no other receiver who's in the mix.
38:06I mean, and I love Mensa and he's been accurate at Notre Dame.
38:10There's always a fun, cool bias when it comes to awards.
38:14I think Chambliss is the best quarterback in college football.
38:17Stockton had a monster win.
38:19We'll get to that in a second.
38:21Minus 220 in the middle of October.
38:23See you in New York, Jeremiah Smith.
38:26Congrats on winning the Heisman.
38:28That Texas loss to Oklahoma was a genuine stunner.
38:32I still can't believe it happened.
38:34I think Matier stinks.
38:36I thought Texas was playing phenomenal ball.
38:40And Arch Manning just absolutely embarrassed himself for the fourth quarter.
38:45We're at a stage right now.
38:47We have to have the conversation about Arch Manning and he needs to go back to school.
38:52I love his talent.
38:55I love his upside.
38:56I love the Manning family.
38:58How could you rationalize that he's ready to go?
39:02Ready to be, forget that I'm one overall pick, a top 10 pick, a first round pick.
39:07I mean, these two interceptions were awful.
39:11There's no other word choice.
39:13Then you factor in prior games.
39:15He was awful in the Tennessee game.
39:17I mean, if I'm advising Arch, go back to college.
39:21I want him to be the next great Manning of the NFL.
39:26And this is a brutal loss for Texas.
39:28Terrible job by Sark.
39:30I mean, Matier has been awful at quarterback for Oklahoma.
39:33He was terrible against Texas last year.
39:35He had a miserable season this year.
39:37This is a dreadful loss for Texas.
39:40So Texas was number one.
39:42Now it's Georgia.
39:43And I love what we saw.
39:45And they're the new number one in the AP Top 25 poll.
39:48How about the way Gunnar Stockton played when it mattered the most?
39:52And this was a terrific game.
39:54Terrific battle.
39:55Absolutely loved it.
39:56And I think Kirby Smart deserves so much credit for the way that he had his team ready.
40:02This was a terrific quarterback battle.
40:04Terrific coaching battle.
40:05And we talked about Georgia as a team to make the college football playoffs before the season started.
40:12Georgia is terrific.
40:14Gunnar Stockton.
40:15Man, if you want to win games, this is the guy you want as your quarterback.
40:21I just love watching him play.
40:23I'm obsessed.
40:24I can't get enough.
40:25And the toughness of this Georgia team.
40:28Terrific game.
40:29You know, Alabama's quarterback is awesome.
40:32But it's not even up for debate.
40:34And I watched this entire game in terms of ebb and flow.
40:38The better team.
40:39The more buttoned up team.
40:40The better defense.
40:41The better quarterback.
40:43And we said this last week.
40:45Give me Georgia.
40:46And I think Georgia's going to hold on to that number one spot for a while.
40:50But wait, there's more.
40:59The Shine Time Super Bowl for Monday Night Football tonight.
41:02With the Rams and the Bills.
41:05And friend of the show, Joe Buck.
41:07Appreciate all the nice words.
41:08Read all the comments here on YouTube.
41:10Read all of them on Instagram at Adam Shine.
41:12On X at Adam Shine.
41:15About how great the Joe Buck spot was.
41:17He's going to be calling the game with the great Troy Aikman.
41:19Monday Night Football on ESPN.
41:20And this was my pick for the Super Bowl.
41:25Now, no longer are either one of these teams the favorites in their respective conferences
41:29like they were before the season.
41:31I'm still not backing off this as a Super Bowl preview.
41:36But obviously, you know, neither one would be considered the team to beat in their respective conferences as we stand
41:42right now.
41:43I think the game's going to be terrific.
41:45I think that you're going to see a lot of points.
41:47I have the Rams winning 38-35.
41:53Which means I'm going to grab the points with the Bills.
41:57Plus three and a half.
41:59I'm going to take Buffalo with the points.
42:02Sean McVeigh, Matthew Stafford, Puka Nakua with the win.
42:07That's the show.
42:08If you missed any portion of the show, just do what I do and we watch the show over and
42:11over and over again.
42:12Go to our new YouTube page at Shine Time.
42:15Make sure you subscribe to our page so every piece of Shine Time content will go straight to your device.
