00:00You know who needed a puke bucket? This guy, watching the Dallas Cowboys play defense,
00:06knowing that I picked them in Survivor. Puke buckets for everyone.
00:26Not that they're wrong, but the thing was, you know, I just, yeah, I don't know who it was,
00:33employee, it was a driver, whoever it was, he's free to speak his mind.
00:39Embarrassing. Absolutely, positively embarrassing. What the hell was that last night? Are you kidding
00:46me? Let me tell you what that was. That was, without question, unequivocally, the single worst
00:52performance by a team all season long in the NFL. The biggest upset special all season long in the
00:57NFL. The Dallas Cowboys, by kickoff, were nine and a half point favorites. Nine and a half point
01:05favorites. We played it on Shine Time yesterday at eight and a half. I took the Dallas Cowboys
01:12in my Survivor pool, as you know. Well, I'm dead. I'm out. Because the Dallas Cowboys opted
01:21not to even bother to play a lick of defense. Listen, I think that fan, that employee talking
01:28to Dak in the tunnel, should have kept his mouth shut. He'll be updating his LinkedIn after this.
01:35But he's right in terms of the word choice, but let me say it, embarrassing. And you got to remember,
01:39too, and I think this is important here. It was 7-0 Dallas. It was 7-0. And I'm always
01:46honest with
01:46the audience. The text messages are flying. I mean, the books are awful. This is a waste. I'm going to
01:52flip
01:53to baseball. I'm going to go to sleep. Like, there was no reason for me to sit there and watch
01:58that
01:58game. Then Dallas opted out. I mean, that's a joke. A complete and utter joke. An embarrassment,
02:05pathetic, grotesque. You saw Tampa march down that field to tie the game like, oh, okay. Just to
02:13properly explain this, we're talking about a nine and a half point favorite at home after a signature
02:20win on the road in Houston. A game that the Dallas Cowboys would lose for the last 30 years.
02:25They're playing a player in Jalen Daniels who had never started a game on the road before
02:33in the NFL. They're down 7-0. And you see Jalen Daniels as a model of efficiency?
02:44Come on. The embarrassing nuggets for the Dallas team and the Dallas defense were just off the
02:52charts. I mean, where do you want to start? I mean, the Bucky Irving run at the start of
02:58the third quarter was soul-sucking. I mean, it was like back in the schoolyard back in the
03:04day where you're playing one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi. Like it wasn't
03:10even a credit to Bucky Irving in any way, shape or form. Not even remotely a credit. He was just
03:18hanging out back there beginning of the third quarter. All right, this guy's not going to
03:22tackle me. That guy's not going to tackle me. That guy's not going to tackle me. That guy's not
03:26going to tackle me. He took off. I mean, look at the third quarter nuggets of futility on
03:33your screen. I mean, outscored the Cowboys were by the 0-4 Bucs with a rookie undrafted
03:40quarterback making his first road start. Going to keep saying that all show long. Outscored
03:4517-0 in the third. Outgained 197-59. This is a disgrace. A complete and utter choke. I mean,
03:56you think about some of the big plays that this team and defense gave up. You think about the 72
04:01-yard
04:02scamper. How about the third and 21 conversion? Where it was embarrassing. Where Emeka Abuka is just
04:11wide open. It's like YOLO, Emeka Abuka somewhere. Because no one from the Dallas Cowboys is even
04:16close to him. You heard it on the Amazon broadcast a thousand times last night that Joey Porter Jr.
04:22didn't play. It was an illness all of a sudden. He needed a puke bucket. That's what they kept
04:30saying. A puke bucket. You know who needed a puke bucket? This guy watching the Dallas Cowboys play
04:39defense knowing that I picked them in Survivor. Puke buckets for everyone. Now, I'm not a doctor.
04:47Occasionally, I play one on TV and here on YouTube. I don't know. Did he need a puke bucket looking
04:53at
04:54his latest contract offer from the Dallas Cowboys? Richard Sherman went there. And honestly,
05:00I don't blame him. I don't think it was reckless. It's the same Joey Porter Jr. who was injured in
05:07Pittsburgh and then all of a sudden was miraculously cured last week when he got traded to the Dallas
05:14Cowboys. Puke bucket? I wanted a puke bucket watching this team play last night. I mean,
05:22Dak Prescott a couple picks last night. Not his fault. He made the mistake of hitting the receivers
05:27in the hands. I mean, that one at the end. I mean, it went from Ferguson's hands to his face
05:33mask
05:33right into Anzalone's pause for an interception to seal the game. I thought last night was as
05:40disgraceful a sporting event as you could find in terms of I don't even think the Bucs won. Like,
05:44there's not a Tampa fan out there saying we're back. We played great. I mean, you saw the defense
05:52absolutely for Dallas get destroyed. You saw special teams. The turban fumble was
05:57absolutely atrocious. I mean, CeeDee Lamb was injured and ineffective last night. George Pickens
06:03had that touchdown. But then what the hell was Brian Scheinheimer doing going for two? That made
06:08no sense. And even if you're a fan of the Buccaneers, I mean, what happened with Todd Bowles in that
06:15game?
06:16Not kicking the field goal. To go up three scores with 836 to go? Like, I destroyed Nick Sirianni earlier
06:25this week and meant every single word and backed it up on the eyeball test. But even in that spot,
06:31there was no way that they were going to score a touchdown. The Eagles were against the LA Rams.
06:35They're going to, if they make the field goal, they go up 13. This to go up three scores,
06:39there's no debate. It's not even an apples and oranges conversation. It's apples and Oldsmobiles.
06:44This was a million times worse. The Bucs were giving you the game. I mean, Todd Bowles is the
06:50ex-coach of the Buccaneers. The only question is, when will he get fired? Next week, the week after,
06:56December, December, Black Monday after the season ends, he's done. He's gone. And this is the team
07:04you allow to walk into Dallas and beat you? There have been two games this year where Brian
07:11Schottenheimer has completely just failed. Obviously, we went through it in the Baltimore game. That was
07:16a game where, frankly, Lamar Jackson didn't exactly dazzle. It wasn't like he put up these eye-popping
07:22numbers. Should have won that game. He screwed it up. The game management, the clock management,
07:25everything that we've been through on that game. But they bounced back brilliantly and
07:30hand-raised. I took the cheese on the Dallas Cowboys. I did. Even more. Let me hold myself
07:36accountable for this. I spent all offseason on Shine Time saying how great, how solid, how reliable I
07:46thought this defense was going to be. I thought Christian Parker was absolutely the right guy at
07:51the right time. Well, Christian Parker doesn't know what he's doing. Brian Schott,
07:55Schottenheimer, as a head coach, doesn't know what he's doing. This team just doesn't have
08:00the toughness and the moxie and the ability to handle success and prosperity. With everything
08:07going on with the Philadelphia Eagles, they had a golden opportunity to grab the NFC East
08:13by the throw. And honestly, it wasn't even about winning. You wanted to leave this game.
08:19Bucs are winless. Again, that whole rookie quarterback undrafted free agent first road
08:23start thing. You wanted to feel good about the Cowboys. Seriously. You wanted to look at the final
08:29score and say, no sweat. You know, like you press the easy button. Defense took a step forward.
08:34Instead, this. I mean, what a disgrace. Embarrassing is the only way to phrase it. What a complete and
08:43utter fiasco. A disaster. Man, what a rough time to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
08:50First place Giants head to the nation's capital to take on the commanders who expect to have
08:54Jaden Daniels back. Jameis Winston is once again going to start for the Giants. Bud is his new
09:01backup on his heels. I would say it's an A plus. He's doing really well. That's as best as I
09:08can put
09:08it. You look back seven days ago when we were up here having the same conversation. He's much further
09:14along, which is again a credit to our position coaches and Brian Callahan, Mike Snyder. These guys
09:21are spending a lot of time putting time in with J.J. and with Jake just in case, you know.
09:27So at the
09:27same point in time, J.J. is spending a lot of time trying to learn everything. So that part has
09:32been
09:32great. Proud of him. But this is just the beginning. But I'd say A plus right now. So Matt Nagy
09:38had an
09:38opportunity talking to the press yesterday to answer that question about J.J. McCarthy any way he wanted.
09:44And he decided to go with that. And I applaud him. A, if you're a Giants fan and you hear
09:50that, it means,
09:50okay, J.J. McCarthy, A plus right now. Also, he's trying to put a little heat on Jameis Winston
09:58and just remind Jameis Winston that the Ram game, the Titan game, playing like that is unacceptable
10:03and we need the Jameis Winston we saw against the Arizona Cardinals where he threw for three
10:08touchdowns. I'm very cool with that. Listen, Matt Nagy, been a head coach before, been an offensive
10:14coordinator forever. He's been around the block. He knows what he needs and he knows he needs to keep
10:21Jameis Winston focused. And listen, last week it was the full Jameis experience, obviously.
10:27Look, at some point we've talked about it. J.J. McCarthy is going to play. Jameis Winston,
10:32his ball this week. Jaden Daniels is back for the Washington Commanders. So clearly quarterback edge
10:40in this game goes to Washington. I don't care. The Giants are going to win. The Giants have the
10:49better head coach. John Harbaugh runs circles around Dan Quinn. The way that Arvel Reese is playing,
10:57he is going to absolutely torment and torch that turnstile offensive line. Daniels is back.
11:04Steph Diggs is out. That is a significant injury in this game. There is such an awesome confidence
11:12when you look at the Giants and how they're playing. And you look at the standings right here,
11:18the NFC East. We talk about the Cowboys and the missed opportunity for the stranglehold.
11:24Nobody is picking the Giants to win the division. I'm not picking the Giants to win the division.
11:30The Giants have a great opportunity to bury Washington on Sunday, bank their fourth win of
11:37the season. There's a real shot, obviously, that Jacksonville is going to beat the hell out of the
11:43Philadelphia Eagles. We've talked about the Eagles' issues and all the changes on the offensive line
11:48all week on Shine Time. We'll pick that game later in the show. I think the Eagles are going to
11:53get
11:53slaughtered this weekend. So it's all there for the Giants. I think Malik Nabors is going to have a
11:58monster game. I think the Harbaugh effect is real and spectacular. Remember what Joe Buck said on
12:05Shine Time yesterday? The pickup and the move of the offseason was John Harbaugh becoming the coach
12:12of the New York football Giants. The Giants have a golden opportunity to remind everyone in the
12:17division they're not going away. No Burns, no Dart, but they have this guy. He's going to make sure that
12:24his team is buttoned up and focused for every single ballgame all season long. And if you can get to
12:32four and one and bury Washington and go up by a couple of games in the division, nobody's planning
12:40parades. No one's telling a Giants fan, hey, make sure that you free your calendar for when the playoffs
12:47are scheduled in January. Nobody is saying that. But that can guarantee that this team is going to
12:53have a culture and an attitude that's going to permeate throughout the season into the offseason
12:58into next season when the Giants can have a golden opportunity to make the playoffs. And if you get the
13:05four and one, it doesn't matter what people like me say. The confidence in that room is going to be
13:11off the charts. Giants will also be playing games that matter to make the playoffs at MetLife Stadium
13:20in December if they can win. It doesn't get any better than that. I'm telling you right here, right now.
13:29Giants are going to win the game. The Giants are better than Washington. I acknowledge how special
13:34Jaden Daniels is. To me, it's Jaden Daniels as a one-man band. When it comes to the rest of
13:39the team,
13:40when it comes to talent, when it comes to defense, most especially when it comes to the head coaching
13:47matchup, I favor the Giants over Washington. The Giants are going to make a huge statement
13:52in the nation's capital. The Giants will win their fourth game of the season on Sunday.
13:59Brock Purdy has been the MVP of the NFL through the first four weeks. Last two times he faced the
14:04Seahawks last season. 49ers did not score a touchdown. That fact has not been forgotten.
14:12Obviously, for me, it sucked how last year ended and not getting in the end zone and scoring and
14:19stuff like that. So, for sure, I went back and watched some stuff this offseason and sort of just
14:24like, all right, what was it? How could I have played better? And what did I need to do?
14:28And I'm sort of just being hard on myself in that regard. But, you know, every game is new. Every
14:34moment is different. And so, for me, I'm just like excited for obviously week five against these guys
14:39back up in Seattle and, you know, ready for the challenge.
14:44Oh, baby. I love that from Brock Purdy. And listen, he has been terrific ever since he became the
14:49starting quarterback in San Francisco. A kryptonite, though. A Mike McDonald defense,
14:55whether that's been in Baltimore or now in Seattle. And you look at last year, and honestly,
15:03of course it matters. Week 18, if San Francisco would have won that game,
15:07they would have had the one seed and home field advantage and a bye. Instead, Seattle wins the game.
15:15Seattle beat them not only in week 18. Mike McDonald's team destroyed them,
15:21bludgeoned them in the divisional round. Just absolutely kicked their ass. And then,
15:27and this is important here in terms of the revenge angle as well. Mike McDonald's team won a Super Bowl
15:34in San Francisco Stadium. In San Francisco. Enter the 2026 version of Brock Purdy. Look at these numbers.
15:43Let me tell you what I see. I see NFL MVP. We've been ahead of the curve on this. Looks
15:49like Trent
15:50Williams is going to play. That is obviously a massive deal when you talk about a Hall of Fame
15:56left tackle. Christian McCaffrey, I think, is going to have a big game. And listen, this game matters.
16:03Certain games in the NFL just bigger and mean more, you know, during the course of 17 game schedule,
16:0918 weeks in the regular season. I think a lot of people are kind of waiting for maybe
16:15the Niners to turn back into a pumpkin. I think this is a way for San Francisco to prove
16:21they are the team to beat in the very competitive NFC West and in the NFC. Seattle is going to
16:27be a
16:28force and a factor all year. Mike McDonald's unbelievable. Loves Sam Donald. Jackson Smith and
16:33Jigba's on fire. That defense flies around. Again, that defense has been a house of horrors for Brock
16:39Purdy in San Francisco and a Kyle Shanahan team through the years. They're not the same right now
16:44as a team. New offensive coordinator, Clint Kubiak, is in Vegas running the Raiders. And they don't have
16:52a legit running back. Kenneth Walker's in Kansas City. Price, the first-round pick out of Notre Dame,
16:57is hurt. Charbonnet still recovering from surgery. He remains out. That, to me, is where San Francisco
17:04can really take advantage. This is going to be the game of the week. Can't wait for it with our
17:11friends Kevin Burkhart, Tom Brady, Aaron Andrews, Tom Rinaldi, NFL on Fox. This is going to be the game
17:19of the week in the NFL, and I am here for it. And I'm also here for Brock Purdy making
17:25a massive
17:25statement that he can handle Mike McDonald. He can handle Seattle. He's the leader in the clubhouse
17:32for the NFL MVP. And the Niners are the team to beat in the league. The Broncos head to SoFi
17:40to take
17:40on the 0-4 Chargers on Sunday. And Sean Payne has decided to make a major change. We'll make a
17:46change
17:47offensively. I'll call the plays. As the head coach, no different than evaluating your right tackle,
17:56your slot receiver, your running backs. You know, something to change it up.
18:03So I'm not going to lie. That change up for the Denver Broncos has officially changed up my pick
18:08for this game. I was going into it thinking, all right, Chargers are going to win because the
18:14Broncos offense under Davis Webb looks atrocious. Take a look at these nuggets of futility for the
18:20Denver Broncos on offense. And honestly, the person I blame, it's not Davis Webb. It's Sean Payton.
18:28We first guessed this on Shine Time in the offseason. If you're Sean Payton, one of the best play callers
18:35in the history of the National Football League, why in the world would you give Davis Webb the keys
18:43to your car? Why would you sit in the back seat? Doesn't make any sense. Davis Webb might turn out
18:49to be the next Sean McVay at some point. He might end up being a head coach in the NFL
18:54next year. He
18:55might end up being the next head coach of the Jets. That's not relevant to this topic for conversation.
19:02Sean Payton's the best. Sean Payton, the whole reason why that Bo Nix pick was worth it was
19:08because it was Sean Payton and Bo Nix. That was Sean Payton's guy. When he was still doing,
19:13he told me as much when he joined my radio show on Sirius XM before the draft a few years
19:19ago.
19:19Paint did a picture. I'm like, oh, he's going to pick Bo Nix. Bo Nix should not have gone that
19:23high.
19:24Bo Nix and Sean Payton, that's a winning ticket. Bo Nix and Davis Webb, well, you saw the results.
19:30And you watched the Broncos play. You saw them last week against San Francisco. This team can't
19:36function. So I at least give Payton credit for recognizing it because why would you keep the train
19:44off the tracks if you could do something about it? So this to me changes everything. So bad news for
19:51the Chargers. Sean Payton decided it's going to be his show, his team, his offense once again.
19:59And I believe that'll change everything here as the Denver Broncos will march into Los Angeles
20:05and beat the Chargers. Coming up next, it's time to collect some cash. My guy, the brilliant
20:12Jeff Ratcliffe joins me for Shine's Lines. If you like money, only if you like money, stay tuned.
20:29Ah, yes. Football Friday. That means it's time for Shine's Lines. Listen, I'm thrilled with this
20:37record. All things considered, based upon how wild it's been this year, picking every single NFL game,
20:4335-29-1. We lost, of course, last night. We've been talking about it all show long.
20:50Ah. Nice job, Dallas. Week five. The lines are set. Ready to make some money. Joining us today,
20:59one of the sharpest minds in all of football, a fantasy sports guru, a man who knows his way
21:05around the numbers. The critically acclaimed host of the Jeff Ratcliffe show on Sirius XM Fantasy Sports
21:12Radio, host of the Ram Podcast, co-CEO of For the Numbers, my guy, the great Jeff Ratcliffe. Jeff,
21:20how are you? I am fantastic. I also felt that beat in Survivor last night. I mean, hey,
21:25eight and a half point spread. It's a lock, right? You got a backup quarterback. What else could go wrong?
21:30And honestly, he played really well. Shout out to Jalen Daniels for that game. Shout out to Bucky
21:34Irving for that game. And my Survivor dreams are over in the big contest. You know, I always avoid
21:41Thursday night football for Survivor. Always. I didn't like the slate this week on Sundays,
21:46not making an excuse. I slept like a baby. I don't even regret the pick. I just lost. I feel
21:51like a
21:52horse's ass. But yeah, we're on the same page. I mean, how could you possibly lose that game? Unless,
21:58of course, you're the Dallas Cowboys. So Jeff, let's start with one of the Cowboys' rivals,
22:03the Philadelphia Eagles. Could be an international incident this week. Eagles, Jaguars in London,
22:08Jacksonville favored by seven and a half. Take your pick. I'm actually going to have the Eagles.
22:13I don't know if they necessarily win, but seven and a half is a big spread here. I know a
22:17lot of
22:18people are looking to Philadelphia. Obviously, the injury, Saquon Smith, Goddard still banged up.
22:22Not sure of his status just yet. Nobody to throw the football to. The offensive line now with
22:27Lane Johnson retiring and Juergens being traded. But hey, last night showed us. And by the way,
22:34the Eagles shorthanded also pushing the Rams. Obviously, they gave that win to the Rams at the
22:39end there. But I think the Eagles have enough to stay in this game. They're still solid in coverage.
22:43They've only allowed four passing touchdowns on the season. And that's really where Jacksonville is
22:47going to try and beat you with Trevor Lawrence's arm. I love Basial Tootin. I love that he's coming
22:52along in the run game. But I don't think they have the the firepower here to really cover this
22:57seven and a half point spread. What I hate about this is you're using your brain. And there's a lot
23:02of intelligence. And everything you just said, I think makes sense. I love Jacksonville. And I beat
23:08up the Eagles all week, right? And the changes on the offensive line, that's a real thing. And Jalen
23:14Hurts looks broken. And the injury report is damning. Jeff, to me, this is about the Jacks. I just
23:21think Jacksonville is a really good team. I love the coach. I love Trevor Lawrence. I think they
23:25could run the ball effectively. I like the weapons on offense, even if Parker Washington has kind of
23:31come back down to earth a little bit. The defense is really good. The pass rush is great. I think
23:37they can attack the newbies on the offensive line. So listen, I'm going to take Jacksonville. We've beat
23:43up the Eagles all week. They're a beaten football team right now. I just think people in general
23:49sleeping on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bears had to Lambeau to renew their rivalry with the
23:55Green Bay Packers. One and a half point road favorites. Take your pick. It's been 20 years
24:00since they've been favored in Lambeau, which is quite something right there. But this team is the
24:05real deal. Even with Tyson Bajan under center, heck, even Case Keenum under center against those
24:09Philadelphia Eagles a couple weeks ago. Bajan gives them mobility, though, which of course is what
24:13they get with Caleb Williams. I am taking a Bears mat minus one and a half. No Kyle
24:18Monunga that was announced today. It doesn't matter. They're just going to feed DeAndre
24:22Swift a ton of work. And it's really comes down to the run game on both sides for the Packers.
24:27They can't defend the run and they can't run the football without Josh Jacobs. So I just don't see
24:33how they're going to stay in this against Ben Johnson. Listen, I agree with you completely. In fact,
24:37this is one of my best bets of the week. Not to mention the fact that Ben Johnson and Matt
24:43LaFleur
24:43hate each other. And that matters in a game like this and the history and the rivalry. It's been
24:49frankly one sided with Green Bay being the team that just owned Chicago. I mean, ask Aaron Rodgers
24:56about that. He'll be the first one to tell you. And I think that go back to Tucker Craft a
25:00few weeks
25:00ago when he said, look, why are they booing us? I think Ben Johnson wants to hear those boos.
25:08I think this is going to be a bloodbath. I love the Chicago Bears. Ravens take on the Falcons and
25:13Atlanta Sunday night football. Atlanta favored by three and a half. Take your pick. Well,
25:18obviously that line is impacted pretty heavily by Lamar Jackson. It's not a knock on Snoop Huntley.
25:23I think he's a solid backup and a good backup is a good thing to have. But this Falcons team
25:27just
25:27completely turned a corner when you put Michael Penix under center. I mean, and to be fair,
25:31over the first two weeks of the season, I'm not knocking Cooper Rush. He was the number three
25:34quarterback on that team. Michael Penix gets in, starts targeting that dude, Drake London.
25:39Bijan does his thing. And heck, you got, is this the best backup in football right now? And Brian
25:44Robinson, they're going to hit him across the board here. I think Baltimore stays in it,
25:48but Derrick Henry is going to have his hands full with that run defense. And I don't think there's
25:52enough there. I think the Falcons cover this spread, win this game by a good bit.
25:56I love Atlanta. I would pick Atlanta, even if Lamar Jackson was healthy. I love the Falcons
26:03before the season. I picked them against Green Bay to win. People thought I was crazy.
26:07Picked them against New Orleans. People thought I was crazy. I just think Penix
26:12is really good. And if you, if he's smart, if he's accurate, if he could throw the deep ball and
26:17he does
26:17all that, reestablishes Drake London, Bijan's going to be the best weapon in the NFL. So I think that
26:23you're going to see the Atlanta Falcons smoke the Baltimore Ravens. And honestly, you look at their
26:29defense. Jeff Ulbricht has that defense flying around. I love the Atlanta Falcons coming up on
26:35Sunday night. Deshaun Watson's Browns going to visit the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Two and a half point
26:42road dogs. Take your pick. Well, you call him Deshaun Watson's Browns. I call them Todd Monkins
26:47Browns. This team has really taken on Monkins' personality and what an infectious personality
26:52it is. I love the way that they're playing right now. Watson's up and down, right? But the ups are
26:57there. Finally, he's on the move. He's throwing on the move. And he has not only the two best rookie
27:03receivers we've seen for the Browns in a while. These are the two best receivers we've seen in
27:06the Browns for the while, with the Browns for a while. Denzel Boston, Casey Concepcion. Of course,
27:11Harold Fannin Jr. just picking right up where he left off last year. And how about Quinchon
27:16Judkins last week? Finally running with authority. This team is playing good football. Not only do they
27:21cover the two and a half, they win this thing outright. And that's not a knock on the Jets. I
27:25think
27:26the Jets are solid enough with Geno Smith out there. They do need Brees Hall back right now. But this
27:32Browns team, they're a team on a mission. I think they win this game outright and, of course,
27:36cover. We're sharing a brain here. I've got Cleveland winning the game. I just think Cleveland's
27:40better at this stage. I think that Todd Munkin, major coaching advantage in this game over Aaron
27:45Glenn. I agree with you completely on the wide receivers. I think Fannin has a big game. This
27:51defense, even without Miles Garrett, has really been solid. The Jets are banged up. I love the
27:58Cleveland Browns. What a comment. The Colts going to travel to Pittsburgh to match up with
28:02the Steelers. Pittsburgh favored by two and a half. Take your pick. Yeah, this one's tricky
28:06after that loss last week. They did come back in that game. The Browns almost let them back
28:10and win that thing, but ultimately were able to hold them off. I do think the Steelers are
28:14going to cover this two and a half. And I'm looking in particular, old man Rodgers is out
28:19there. And honestly, last year I was not convinced that he had another year in him. This year so far,
28:24I actually am convinced. Now he's not Rodgers from 10 years ago, but he doesn't have to be
28:28as long as he's getting the ball to DK Metcalf. Obviously no Michael Pittman, but Roman Wilson
28:33emerging for this offense. And how about this? Jalen Warren, like, Hey, Mike McCarthy, you're
28:38watching right now. Just give this guy the football. He's very good. And I have concerns
28:43on the other side. It looks like Keenan Allen's turning towards getting back, but the passing
28:47game just without Alec Pierce, they don't have that dynamic downfield element. So they're really
28:52one dimensional relying on Jonathan Taylor. He's great, but I don't think there's enough
28:56there. I think the Steelers win this one and obviously cover. I think Pittsburgh is one
29:00of the best bets of the week. I don't think they're as bad as what we saw going up against
29:04Cleveland. What transpired that to me was more about Cleveland than it was Pittsburgh. You
29:08know, it's always interesting in these, you know, overreaction week to week games and taking
29:13the temperature. I'm with you on Warren. I'm with you on Rodgers. This is a TJ Watt kind
29:19of game. I love the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jeff, I want you to take a look at the rest of my
29:24picks and I want you to react to them and tell me what stands out. I love that D'Amico
29:29Ryans is back calling the plays for the Houston Texans on defense. And normally a game like
29:35this, I'd go with the underdog, especially at home in a rivalry game. They hate each other,
29:40but I don't know. I love the Giants to win outright. I love the Raiders to win outright.
29:48I'm taking the New Orleans Saints to win outright against the Minnesota Vikings. I'll lay the five
29:56and a half with Detroit. We talked about it earlier in the show. I have San Francisco beating Seattle.
30:02Give us a reaction to some of these picks. Well, I love that San Francisco call out. That's a litmus
30:07test
30:08game. If I've ever seen one, they have been absolutely fantastic though. Brock, how is this
30:12possible? He hasn't been sacked this season. Like that boggles my mind. Brock Purdy is insanely good
30:18right now and underrated shockingly enough. I love that call. I actually have that on my ticket as
30:23well. The Raiders, I did pick the Patriots to win, but boy, was I tempted shine. Like it was so
30:30close.
30:30The team is legit. Like it wasn't a couple wins. They pushed the Chiefs. This is a legitimate team.
30:35Kirk Cousins is playing like a younger version of himself with Bowers out there. It's been really,
30:40really fun to watch. And obviously defensively, they're pretty strong. If they get Drake May a
30:45little rattled, I think that'll be interesting. And I love the Giants call out right there.
30:50We haven't got the Jameis game yet. And you know, it's coming. You know, there's going to be like a
30:54350 and three through the air. And Jameis is on all the highlights. We haven't got it yet. If it's
31:00a game
31:00where it could happen, it could be against that commander's defense. Without question. Now,
31:04before we let you go, listen, when it comes to fantasy football, you are the absolute best.
31:09We listen to your radio show and it's on the Sirius XM app. We read everything that you put
31:14out. Listen to your podcast. I'm kicking ass and taking names in DFS because of you. What plays
31:22do we like this week? Anyone join a name in terms of DFS for this upcoming week? You know,
31:28I haven't even really fully dove into the DFS, putting me on the spot here. Normally I do have it
31:33set
31:33up for my show. Of course, on Sunday mornings, I'm on live on Sirius XM fantasy sports radio from
31:38nine to 10 AM Eastern. But I'm going to follow a lot of what I said. I know I am
31:44playing Jameis
31:44regardless of his price tag. Again, it's a ceiling thing. So I'm entering bigger tournaments. I'm
31:51going to put a guy in there who does have a ceiling who I think could be under owned. Of
31:54course,
31:54if I am playing him, I'm going to roster up either neighbors or likely or both because basically all of
32:00his targets went to both of those guys last week. Regardless of the price point, I do want to lean
32:05in on some situations like DeAndre Swift. Honestly, that's a 45 and a half over under. I am hammering
32:11the over in that game. So I want to get a lot of DeAndre Swift with no Kyle Minunga. That's
32:16going
32:16to be a bit of a chalky play, but that's okay. There's nothing wrong with having good chalk out
32:20there. So I'll be going after that one as well. And then I probably will get in on the other
32:25side of
32:25that. I think Christian Watson is due for a little bit of a bounce back after last week. He was
32:30used,
32:31just not didn't find the end zone. He's an alpha in that offense, him and Matthew Golden. And by the
32:36way, Matthew Golden had a routine touchdown and he spins around in the air. He looks like quad God on
32:41that thing, spinning, hovering in the air, catching this football, a thing of beauty on a routine
32:46touchdown reception, but really like what Matthew Golden has done so far this season. We'll be
32:50listening on Sunday morning, 9 to 10 Eastern on Sirius XM Fantasy Sports Radio, as we do each
32:56and every Sunday morning. Jeff, you're the best. We appreciate it. Thank you.
33:02Coming up next, Nixon 5 vibes seem to be dissipating quickly in Madison Square Garden.
33:07Team put out a statement that has everyone's attention today. We discuss next on Shine Time.
33:14I've made it known, you know, I want to, you know, play here. I've been a fan since I was
33:18young and, you know, so I would like to get one done, of course. That's obvious, you know,
33:24I would like to get it done so I can step on the court and feel comfortable as possible.
33:28You always want to get it done kind of as soon as possible, obviously, because like I said,
33:34you don't want that, you know, trickling into the season because whenever there's uncertainty,
33:39there's going to be a lot of questions, there's going to be a lot of, you know, rumors.
33:47Whoa. That was Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart at Knicks Media Day last week being very public,
33:54very outspoken on their desires to get new deals done. Well, today, the Knicks strike back,
34:03taking the rare step of publicly announcing tabling all contract talks. This is fascinating.
34:14Here's the quote. As an organization, our entire focus is on preparing for the upcoming season
34:20and delivering another year for our fans to be proud of. As a result, we will not be negotiating
34:28contract extensions until later in the season and will remain solely focused on preparing for the
34:35start of the season. Well, these are not exactly the Knicks in five vibes. I don't know what the
34:44hell the Knicks are doing here. Seriously. This is a terrible job by James Dolan. First of all,
34:51you just won a championship. And I know organizations don't like to say, well, let's run it back and go
34:58back to back because it's a new year. You're trying to win another championship, however you want to
35:03frame it. If, and listen, when Kat said what he said, when Hart said what he said, and we talked
35:11about
35:11it on Shine Time, the antenna went up because they made it public. But if you're a savvy organization,
35:19you just let them talk. Clearly there's a divide. They want new money. And for the record, and I said
35:26this in real time when that story broke, in this specific case, I'm very pro player, especially for
35:33Carl Anthony Towns, who is worth every single penny. Josh Hart is worth it, an extension, a raise.
35:42I think he needs to make sure he doesn't price himself away from his dream situation. Now for
35:49the Knicks to come out and say that, a week and a half before they're at Madison Square Garden against
35:57Philly and they raise a banner? I mean, why? Then now this is a talking point. Every show like ours
36:04is
36:04doing it. It's the number one story today in the New York Post sports. It just didn't have to be
36:10like
36:10this. Yeah, just let the players say what they're going to say. And even more, give them the money.
36:18Like, Carl Anthony Towns is one of the handful of best centers in the league. And not only that,
36:26it's no longer a hypothetical for Carl Anthony Towns. He's New York Knick championship center,
36:32championship big man, Carl Anthony Towns. You want to let Mitchell Robinson go. You don't want to
36:39spend the first round pick on a legit center. You don't want to go into second aprons. Whatever it
36:45is, we have a discussion about it. You can get away with it because you just won a championship for
36:50the first time in my lifetime. Fine. But why are you messing around with the players who brought you
36:56that championship, specifically the second best player on the team? I don't get it. And look,
37:02we could talk about Deuce McBride, Tyler Kolick. They are under the umbrella here in terms of wanting
37:07new deals or eligible for new deals. It's Towns and it's Hearts. And why would you, and I think this
37:15angle needs to be discussed. When you think about Heart and you think about Towns, you have to think
37:22about Jalen Brunson. Why would you piss off Jalen Brunson? Why would you make things uncomfortable
37:29for Jalen Brunson? If you don't want to pay these guys, I disagree with it. Vehemently disagree with
37:35it, especially Carl Anthony Towns. But to now make this a bigger story and basically tell the players,
37:45Brunson's running mates, to shut the hell up and play basketball? I don't like that at all. That's a bad
37:53job by James Dolan. Terrible job by the organization. And I live for the Knicks and I live for this
37:59group
37:59and I absolutely think they can win again. So why create real drama, fake drama, talking points
38:08or about anything else? And this is what I think Brunson is going to go nuts about other than winning.
38:13The only thing that should matter is winning. That statement, not conducive to that. But wait,
38:21there's more.
38:28He's scuffling right now, but I really believe that he's going to come to life at some point.
38:33And I believe in him. Our players believe in him. So it's just good to know that we can still
38:39win a
38:39series when he's not doing what we all know he can do. We'll stay on the right side, third row.
38:46Dave, congratulations. How good is it to have in this time of the season, of the postseason,
38:52to have Edwin Diaz in his best shape? It's great. He's had a tough season. He's been hurt. He was
39:00having trouble with his delivery and went on a long rehab assignment. But to get him pitching the way,
39:09that's the reason we got him the last two nights, that's the reason we acquired a guy like Edwin
39:14Diaz. He's a guy that's... Listen, I understand exactly what Dave Roberts is talking about here.
39:20And Shohei Otani is clearly, physically not 100%. That has been evident throughout the second half of
39:28the baseball season, specifically evidence in September. And honestly, more evident than ever,
39:35when you look at the Atlanta series, on execution, on placement dropping down in the lineup,
39:41which proved to be a no-brainer. I also think, and I firmly believe this, it's kind of a non
39:49-factor
39:49for this series. I think Otani will hit. I think he's going to come up in a big spot.
39:55I think this is who he is. This is what he does. Has an all-time great talent and a
40:00living legend
40:00and a prolific playoff performer. Also, the Dodgers don't need Otani to be Otani to beat the Milwaukee
40:08Brewers. Brewers come into this series, game one Sunday in Milwaukee, confident. They just were able
40:14to win on the road in the playoffs, something they hadn't done in a long time. They beat the Padres,
40:20and they played well in all these close games. They took advantage of great breaks. They played
40:25great baseball. Jackson Churio is right now on a heater. They'll have the Miz going. It's all set
40:32up for Milwaukee. They're just not the Dodgers. And the Dodgers' DNA, the Dodgers' toughness,
40:38I mean, you take a look at their depth and their talent. You look at Pajes. You look at Muncy.
40:44You
40:44look at the way that the bullpen, Vestia Scott, Edwin Diaz now being healthy. The way these guys
40:51have stepped up. And you look at the Dodgers' pitching. I really think this team is absolutely
40:57going to be able to rock and roll. I would be floored if the Brewers beat them in this series.
41:03I think the Brewers, who got swept last year in the NLCS, obviously this team was completely
41:09overmatched. I have too much respect for this version of the Milwaukee Brewers to say they will
41:15go out in the NLCS without getting a game. In fact, I'll give them two. But I think the Dodgers
41:23absolutely win this series. I don't necessarily think it's going to be that close. I have the Dodgers
41:30making a statement and getting game one on Sunday. The Dodgers pitching and their manager
41:36and their toughness and the role player stepping up. It's been amazing. Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman,
41:42they can make up for whatever Otani's lacking health-wise right now. Dodgers in six. Dodgers
41:50going to the World Series. We're on the show this week, on a sad note, with the passing of
41:56legendary Bears head coach and Hall of Fame tight end, Mike Ditka. Mike Ditka was the best. An absolute
42:06icon. Mike Ditka was larger than life. A legendary player, the epitome of toughness and game day
42:15execution at the tight end position. Mike Ditka was a legendary coach. You think about one of the best
42:24teams in the history of the NFL? The 85 Bears. A team that was loaded with superstars that Ditka could
42:33bring together. Loaded with personalities. Loaded with characters. We could talk about obviously
42:40Singletary and Dent and Walter Payton and Jim McMahon. And obviously this defense under Ditka,
42:47it was an all-time great, if not the single greatest defense in the history of the National Football League.
42:55Those 85 Bears? Iconic. They go to the Super Bowl and they beat the hell out of the New England
43:02Patriots.
43:02They had the Super Bowl shuffle. They would kick ass and take names. You love them. You loathe them.
43:09They played with the swagger and a toughness that mirrored their head coach. Ditka, with the hair,
43:17with the mustache, with the sweater, with the Chicago personality, smoking the cigars. He was,
43:25he became a legit character on Saturday Night Live, the epitome of what a Chicago human was all about.
43:33I mean, he was one of one as an entertainer, as a legend, as a phenomenal, phenomenal head coach.
43:42Goes to the New Orleans Saints. Traded a whole draft once for Ricky Williams. Because, you know,
43:48why not? That was my Ditka. He was phenomenal on television, NBC, and for all those years,
43:56on Sunday mornings on ESPN. Ah, just a gem. You think about some of the great coaches in the history
44:04of sports. Then you combine in the NFL coaching, personality, and a character. Man, Ditka was one
44:15of one. Ditka, the Bears. I didn't get any bigger, better than that. Rest in peace, Mike Ditka,
44:21who passed away today at the age of 86.
44:26I've been dancing. So, you're like a, what?
44:26you're like, I'm going to be here, has a great writer.
44:26You're like a different writer. So, you're like an interesting writer,
44:26who is the writer, who loves to see each other, and a different writer,
44:27And this is, who talks about the hero versus the technology.
