00:00Especially in white ball cricket, I always try to keep the stunts in play, whether right-hand or left-handed
00:05batsman.
00:06So that was my first tactic, but after my first ball, Samson hit the first ball for four that I
00:11bowled,
00:12and it was on the stumps, it's what I wanted to execute.
00:15So after that, I told myself, well, probably the wicket is a bit too good to be using the wicket
00:20consistently.
00:22So I thought I had to mix it up in terms of using the wicket and then going for the
00:26Yorkers as well,
00:27because that's one of my strengths. My strengths are to use my height into the wicket and also to bow
00:33a Yorker.
00:33So then when I tried my first Yorker, it came out well, so I had the confidence to then go
00:38to it whenever I felt like he was going to make a move or under any pressure.
00:42But the hero is undoubtedly Shea Hope.
00:45The classy skipper is stacking his resume as one of the best West Indian players of his generation.
00:50And despite having scored a century in all formats against India, Shea's pushed back on his detractors.
00:56Shea Hope is a guy that he can blank out a lot of noise and just focus on what he
01:02has to do,
01:02and I think that's his special skill.
01:04Because when everything seems to be going wrong, he's still out there giving his best and performing for the team.
01:10So I think that is his hallmark skill, and he's a great player.
01:14He doesn't really have the record probably in red ball cricket,
01:17but as I said, people play down his stats on his record that he has, especially in T20 cricket.
01:25Everyone knows he's great in 50-over cricket, and still sometimes people don't give him the credit.
01:30They always say he either bats too slow or he bats for himself.
01:33So I'm always happy when I see him do well because I know that he's a guy that's very professional.
01:40And the West Indies red ball skipper took pleasure in seeing the Indian bowlers under pressure for a change.
01:45To chase 250 in any conditions, any bowling attack, I think that's a tremendous effort.
01:51I think it's a record chase for us, so I think that was the first thing.
01:55And then also Shea Hope getting the 100 with just four runs left for him to get it.
02:00So we were just happy because usually we've come under a lot of scrutiny for this tour about not being
02:07able to bowl or bowl out India for a cheap score.
02:10So to be able to come and back that up and get that score to show that it's not only
02:14our bowlers that are being put under the pump,
02:17it was just a great feeling and it came out in the celebration.
