00:01TNT left arm spinner Carey Pear had a solid 2025 regional four-day season, taking 41 wickets, which was the
00:07most by any bowler.
00:08He says it gave him a lot of confidence moving forward.
00:11Yeah, a big motivation. I think those wickets got me a call to the West Indies team.
00:15I'm eager to go again. It has been a good preparation so far.
00:19I'm just looking forward to trying to help the team as best as possible.
00:23Speaking of test cricket, Pear played two matches against India and picked up a wicket.
00:27But what's most important for him is that it was all about gaining experience and improving as a cricketer.
00:33So is he looking forward to playing more red ball cricket for the West Indies?
00:37Yeah, most definitely. Growing up, every cricketer dream growing up is to represent the West Indies at the highest level.
00:44And test cricket is the main format we want to play.
00:48So yeah, I'm eager to play for West Indies and it was a great challenge playing against India, one of
00:55the best teams in the world.
00:56So it was a really great experience and I just needed to take what I learned from there and bring
01:02it back to my game to try and better it for the international level.
01:05Going back to the regional 40 tournament, Pear is aiming to have another good performance for Team Red Force.
01:11Regarding his goals, he's keeping it simple.
01:14So I'm just, as I said, taking it game by game just like I did last year.
01:17Not trying to prove no point or anything like that.
01:19Just trying to take it game by game and try and help the team win as best as possible.
01:23I think my role in the team was just to bowl and express myself, keep it tight and force the
01:29batsmen to make the mistake.
01:30More of the same, so I just want to continue to repeat those things, work on my craft, develop my
01:35game and that will help me reach the next level.
01:39Pierre also relishes batting and has a first class ton plus one half century.
01:44It's something he's working on and is hoping to make the most of it during the 40 tournament.
01:49In cricket these days, there's no just batter or no just bowl alone.
01:52You know, you have to be able to, you know, contribute and bat and ball even in the field.
01:56So, you know, I know I try to, you know, to elevate my game to the best of my ability,
02:01you know, and continue to work on my batting, work on my bowling.
02:04You know, because at the end of the day, there's no limits, you know, we have to continue to express
02:10ourselves, you know, and try and learn on the job.
02:12And that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to learn, try and improve my game, you know, and that
02:17will help me going forward.
02:19According to reports, the West Indies Championship is set to bowl off on April 10th.
