01:13And I loved the Bears yesterday, but I did not expect this.

01:22He grossly outplayed Jalen Hurts.

01:27And when I say case closed, we're talking about Ben Johnson.
01:31Ben Johnson is the best.
01:33And this is why, even with the great Caleb Williams outs,
01:37and he's gonna miss three, four weeks with the hamstring injury,
01:40and then the backup quarterback Tyson Bajan out with the concussion.
01:45I don't waver.
01:46I don't waffle when it comes to picking a Ben Johnson coach team.
01:50Because you might have a third string quarterback in,
01:54but you have this guy calling the place.
01:57And Ben Johnson is so buttoned up, so dynamic as a play caller.
02:02He really fills the Chicago Bears with so much amazing confidence.
02:07And it is ridiculously awesome to watch.
02:10Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams, eventually,
02:14are going to be able to win a Super Bowl together in Chicago.
02:18And I feel even more convinced saying that, and Caleb Williams didn't even play.
02:23Look at what he just did last night with a third string quarterback
02:26against the Philadelphia Eagles.
02:28And think about that first drive.
02:29Just incredible.

02:33Touchdown scoring drive.
02:35A tone setter.
02:36Think about the second drive.
02:39They go down the fields.

02:43Then you see Keenum dropping in the bucket to Roma Dunze.

02:47I vehemently disagreed with Ben Johnson,

02:56Because Case Keenum, in that offense,

03:47This is going to be a spot in a situation
03:50where we're going to be talking about the Chicago Bears
03:53not only being in position to win the division,
03:56but how high is their seed going to be in the NFC.
04:00And this team, because of Ben Johnson,
04:03the way Dennis Allen's defense flew around last night,
04:05they will be in position to do some serious damage
04:09in the NFC postseason.
04:11On the flip side, you have the Philadelphia Eagles.

04:53I mean, Shawn Mannion had no experience.

06:25Say what you want about the Hurts and A.J. Brown relationship.
06:28A.J. Brown's not walking through that door.
06:31So Jalen Hurts on display.
06:34That's no good.
06:35And now it's a short week with the salty Rams coming to town.
06:41So I think the Philadelphia Eagles are about to go on a losing streak.
06:46Who do they play after that when you check the schedule?

10:02So, what does he see in the former 10th overall pick?
10:05What did you see in his college tape that gave you, when you were watching those games at Michigan, that
10:10gave you confidence you could succeed in the NFL?
10:12You mean the national championship tape, the undefeated season stuff, Charlotte?
10:19Yeah.
10:20All those plays that he made in those games?
10:23Yeah.
10:24Yeah.
10:25I mean, you want to go, I'm not going to go through a play for play, but there's a lot

10:30There's a lot of really good throws.

10:33He makes plays with his feet.

10:46And the fact that Harbaugh answered that question by literally almost reading from our Shine Time script on this topic
10:55yesterday kind of underscores why I love this move for the Giants.

11:47I thought he was going to be a really good to great player.

11:54The numbers on your screen tell you all you need to know about J.J. McCarthy as a bust.
12:01And the Vikings traded him.

12:05I mean, Kyler Murray missed time and they played Carson Wentz.
12:08You know, and it's a good move for Minnesota.
12:10They needed to move on.
12:11It's a good move for the Giants.
12:12It's a good move for J.J. McCarthy.
12:14Because when you jogged the mental Rolodex on what his resume looked like at Michigan, exactly what John Harbaugh was
12:22talking about, this is phenomenal stuff.
12:26We could talk about winning a championship.
12:28We could talk about completion percentage.
12:31We could talk about the third down throws, touchdowns versus interceptions, however you want to frame it.
12:37And you take a look at the Giants' schedule.
12:40And I think this is kind of important here.
12:43The New York football Giants will be in position where they're going to have some pretty interesting spots here.
12:51Because, by the way, the Arizona game and the Washington game are, to me, pick'em games, right?
12:59Let's be honest.
13:00Jameis Winston is going to start against the Arizona Cardinals.
13:03Cardinals have, to me, a big advantage at the quarterback position.
13:07Jacoby Brissett versus Jameis Winston.
13:09I think, you know, that's not even close.
13:12If J.J. McCarthy can learn the offense, I think he will end up playing before the bye week.
13:20I feel pretty confident in saying that.
13:24Jameis Winston, who, the last thing I want people to do is rip the Giants for not being prepared if

13:30Jameis Winston has been one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL.

13:38He looks like he's more interested in this podcast.

14:11I'm more convinced today.
14:13Harbaugh is going to play J.J. McCarthy more than Jameis Winston whenever, ultimately, McCarthy's up to speed.
14:21Three important things that are going to dictate the playing time.
14:25One, when McCarthy knows the playbook.
14:27Two, whether or not the Giants win or lose these games.
14:31And three, how Winston performs.
14:34I think there's a real shot we're going to see McCarthy sooner rather than later.
14:39For me, it's Rutherford to the Bronx.
14:41Where the Yankees will begin their wild card series against the hated rival the Boston Red Sox tonight.
14:51And if you have been paying attention, and if you saw the incredible interview we did, and I know that
15:00you saw it because we got an incredible reaction to it, that we did with John Heyman from the New
15:05York Post on Shine Time last week.
15:07None of this is a surprise.
15:10When it comes to Judge, this was the right move and the only move.
15:14And Aaron Boone basically said he was not going to play Aaron Judge.
15:19And he told the press that.
15:21And then Judge kind of went off at the end of the day on Boone last week.
15:27And that's created some controversy and some drama.
15:31And our Boone and Judge on the same page.
15:34And we didn't, at the end of the day, change our minds on whether or not Judge was going to
15:39be out there for the Yankees in the wild card round.
15:42And then John Heyman from the Post when he was with us here on Shine Time said he would be
15:47very surprised.
15:48And his intel said that Judge won't be on the Yankees wild card roster.
15:53This is the right move.
15:55This is the only move.
15:56Aaron Judge is not healthy.
15:59Ever since he returned after missing 100 games, he was terrible in September.
16:06Then he got injured again.
16:09You have the whole conundrum.
16:12Well, if he's healthy, do you DH him?
16:14What does that mean for Rice and for Garcia and Goldschmidt?
16:18And you couldn't play Judge.
16:21But I want to be crystal clear on this.
16:23There's no excuse.
16:25The New York Yankees are at home in the Bronx with the pitching match of advantage.
16:30And they're better than the Boston Red Sox.
16:32And if that means tonight, if the Yankees can't hit, let's be crystal clear.
16:35That means they have to win to nothing.
16:38They win to nothing.
16:39So I think this is the right move and the only move.
16:42John Carlos Stanton, look, bring him off the bench.
16:46John Carlos Stanton is a prolific playoff performer.
16:49What he does in big spots, hitting the long ball for the Yankees in the postseason.
16:56Listen, maybe he can just at the end of the day be healthy enough to pinch it in a key
17:02spot.
17:02Also with Stanton, it doesn't matter lefty, righty, any kind of, it doesn't matter the inning, any situation that calls
17:11for a long ball and for Stanton to live up to his playoff numbers.
17:15I mean, it's not like at the end of the day, there's anyone else on this roster other than rice
17:21and belly that you trust on offense.
17:25Seriously.
17:26I mean, the Yankees offense is poor.
17:28So if you can add this, even in a pinch hitting kind of roll, great.
17:34I mean, I don't believe John Carlos Stanton is a Hall of Famer.
17:37I will always have, and I love, love Big G.
17:40But the only reason he has a case is because of what he does in the playoffs.
17:42And these are all games and numbers and big moments with the New York Yankees.
17:48So, by the way, let's make sure we give credit to our guy John Heyman, who was all over this.

18:14And here's the beauty and here's the genius if you understand the New York Yankees and this pitching matchup.
18:22Cam Schlittler owns the Boston Red Sox.
18:26And he grew up in Boston as a Red Sox fan.
18:30And he has talked about the fact that, you know, he even looks on Instagram to find trolls.
18:36Look at what he did against Boston this season.
18:39And, of course, we all remember the iconic performance.
18:42Eight shutout innings.
18:4412 strikeouts.
18:45Game three to beat Boston and move on to the next round.
18:48So, and when I say iconic, if you remember that game, to advance in the playoffs, eight shutout
18:55innings, 12 strikeouts against the Red Sox as a rook.
18:58I mean, that was unbelievable stuff.
19:00And Schlittler is going to have to be Schlittler.
19:04That means Cy Young because, and I do think unequivocally he's the American League Cy Young.
19:09I don't think there's any doubt about that.
19:11Some people have him as the AL MVP.
19:13I would put him third on the list, frankly.
19:16He needs to be lights out and he will be because Tully is going to absolutely dominate tonight as well.
19:23I think the Yankees will win this game 2-0.
19:26You look at Tully's numbers and what he has brought to the table going up against the Yankees this season.
19:31A couple of starts and, listen, he's quirky, he's talented, his stuff is filthy.
19:3918 strikeouts, an ERA of 0.69 and a couple of starts.
19:43Big spots against the Yankees this year.
19:46I expect this to be incredible theater and drama and the ultimate pitching matchup.
19:51Now, it always scares me when it comes to Aaron Boone acting like a buffoon in the postseason.
19:56Always makes me nervous.
19:58Now, the good news is, and Chad Tracy's done an excellent job for Boston this year.
20:03You know, Alex Cora knows how to navigate the postseason.
20:07So, obviously, that's a big deal in terms of maybe the inexperience with Tracy.
20:13Also, Boston's not a great team.
20:15Give them credit for surviving the Cora firing and the slow start.
20:19They are resourceful.
20:20They're plucky.
20:21They've got a bunch of injuries.
20:23I think this is going to be a brilliant series.
20:27Yankees, we showed you their rotation with Cam and then Max Fried and then Garrett Cole.
20:32Look, I happen to love Sonny Gray.
20:35Terrific pitcher.
20:36You know, Sonny Gray, who told the press how much he hated his time in New York and ever wanted
20:40to be there.
20:41He's been an all-star every spot, including in Boston this year.
20:43He's been phenomenal everywhere except in New York.
20:46So, I think there's a real shot the Yankees end up taking not only the game tonight but the game
20:51tomorrow as well.
20:53The ambiance is going to be amazing.
20:55No judge.
20:57No excuse.
20:58The Yankees must and will beat the Boston Red Sox.

22:00Beginning with possible concerns for the Knicks if they don't get deals done with two of their stars.
22:08I've made it known, you know, I want to, you know, play here.
22:11I've been a fan since I was young and, you know, so I would like to get one done, of
22:16course.
22:16That's obvious, you know, I would like to get it done so I could step on the court and feel
22:20comfortable if it's possible.
22:22You always want to get it done kind of as soon as possible, obviously, because, like I said, you don't
22:27want that, you know, trickling into the season.
22:30Because whenever there's uncertainty, there's going to be a lot of questions.
22:35There's going to be a lot of, you know, rumors.
22:41So this is officially a thing in terms of Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart seizing the moments with all
22:50the Knicks in Five talk and Knicks winning a championship.
22:54And nobody thought we would see this.
22:56And these guys, this team, entrenched forever.
22:59But in terms of this upcoming season, this is now a public topic.
23:05It's not, you know, a report.
23:07It's not a rumor.
23:09This is Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart on record saying they want new contracts.
23:14And both said they want new contracts now, as in before the season starts and they raise the banner and
23:24have the ring ceremony, so they don't have a distraction.
23:30I agree with them.
23:32I also think these situations are very different.
23:36Karl-Anthony Towns is worth every single penny.
23:39Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best bigs in the sport.
23:43Karl-Anthony Towns should absolutely get taken care of.
23:47And what he's asking for, the Knicks should absolutely give it to him.
23:52It's that simple.
23:54Josh Hart is a terrific, integral, winning role player.
24:01That's who he is.
24:03I mean that, and I want that to be interpreted as the ultimate compliment.
24:08I don't think the Knicks would ever trade Josh Hart, who happens to be the best friend and the podcast
24:17co-host of Jalen Brunson.
24:19Also, Dante DiVincenzo was in Jalen Brunson's wedding party and was his other best friend.
24:26So, if Josh Hart isn't happy with his contract, and this is going to be a thing and a topic
24:34for conversation, then I think we get into a bit of a different realm.
24:40Now, I would make sure, and this is important here, and listen, when it comes to the Knicks for everything
24:45in Leon Rose we trust, right?
24:49Kat should be in position to have the best regular season he's ever had.
24:55Because he just won a championship.
24:56So, everything that he's ever worked for, number one overall pick, the trade from Minnesota to New York, feeling the
25:03pressure, it all worked!
25:04He's entrenched!
25:06He's a legend!
25:06He's revered!
25:07He's a god!
25:08He's on Saturday Night Live!
25:09This was the team he grew up rooting for!
25:11So, in theory, Towns, and I'll even throw Mikael Bridges into this, should have the best regular seasons, because now
25:18they can take a breath, the trades were justified, best regular seasons they've had as Knicks.
25:23Josh Hart's Josh Hart!
25:26I just want to make sure that for Josh, because I love Josh Hart, just be careful on rumors and
25:33innuendo and different things.
25:36Because if I'm making a list of Knicks, and I don't think that the Knicks are trying to bust anything
25:40up, they're running it back, right?
25:42They could say it's on to 2026, on to 2027, the chemistry, the believability, that matters.
25:49Mitch is the only integral guy who's not here, he left, he goes to Boston, good luck with all that.
25:53The two Knicks on the roster that I think, between now and the trade deadline, who would be most vulnerable
26:02based upon position or finances to be trading, Deuce McBride and Josh Hart.
26:10I don't think Hart's getting traded. I would absolutely pay him. But when Hart starts talking about distraction, listen, I
26:20also think when it comes to the situation that you have wonderfully so in New York, it takes two to

26:27Speaking of the Knicks, were they LeBron's first choice in free agency?
26:31You know, I have visions of definitely, you know, playing in the garden, finishing my career in the garden, one
26:36of the best places I've ever played.
26:38I think it's the number one arena in the world as far as a basketball player. But after they, after
26:43they beat San Antonio, I was like, I can't, I couldn't do it.
26:47Wouldn't feel right. Y'all wouldn't have made, y'all wouldn't have let me lay that down at all, you
26:51know, but no, you know, but much respect to the Knicks, obviously unbelievable team, unbelievable players.

28:24LeBron, as you may have noticed, has officially begun his bald era. And he spoke in Philly about his goals
28:32and what the Sixers need to do to reach him.
28:35Everyone wants like instant oatmeal. You just put the oatmeal in the bowl. You put the water in and throw
28:39it in the microwave in a minute and a half. You got something like you got something you're ready to
28:42go.
28:44Like if you want to do something special, it takes time and it takes like every single day doing things
28:52that you may not want to do because it's like the same thing over and over and over and over
28:59and over.
28:59It's like repetition after repetition after repetition after repetition. In order for us to be great, we have to do
29:05things that are just not comfortable.
29:07I didn't leave my family to lose in the second round. I know that for sure. So work needs to
29:12be done and I'm ready to put the work in.
29:15That might be my favorite quote that I've ever heard in a media day. I didn't leave my family to

29:23And here's the thing. While I don't believe LeBron, I think it's convenient nonsense.
29:28Oh, I wanted to take my talents to to Madison Square Garden. I think LeBron's in an unbelievable spot.
29:34And I I first of all, I know Philly has Jalen Brown and got him before LeBron.
29:40And obviously, you know, I'm obsessed with Maxie and I love Vijay Edgecombe.
29:44The Sixers haven't won anything in decades. OK, and obviously with Joel Embiid, they can't get out of the second
29:54round.
29:54So this is not LeBron jumping on some kind of juggernaut or dynasty. OK, so I will defend LeBron.
30:03I personally selfishly wanted him to go to Golden State, wanted to see him play with Steph.
30:07When he signed with Philly, I get it. And I'm of the opinion that Joel Embiid is a losing ballplayer,
30:14right?
30:15I like this group so much that I am willing to get off of my take that we will never
30:22see Joel Embiid win.
30:24Because Joel Embiid at this stage is a OK, whatever.
30:29That's the components that he is for this basketball team.
30:33Jalen Brown is going to be highly motivated and he is coming off of a phenomenal season in Boston.
30:40Maxie is tough, clutch, brilliant. I mean, he's one of my favorite players in the league.
30:46Edgecombe is fantastic. They have brilliant depth and talent on this team.
30:51And Nick Nurse is a fabulous coach and he's won a championship with the Toronto Raptors.
30:57So it's early. The East is really excellent this year.
31:03For so long, you know, the depth of conferences, the West was so much better and deeper than the East.
31:10Even if you want to say two best teams are in the Western Conference, which we could have an argument
31:15about,
31:15the Eastern Conference has six, seven, eight teams that think they're going to be playing in the conference finals.
31:22I think going into training camp, the two best teams in the Eastern Conference, New York, Philadelphia.
31:32Love this. Love where LeBron's brain is. Love the mentality.
31:37And if LeBron James can carry noted losing ball player and playoff failure, Joel Embiid out of the second round,
31:49might as well raise a banner in Philly.
31:52As for the King's son, Bronny, who is left behind in Los Angeles, he is ready to begin the next
31:58era of his own career.
32:00What is it like to want to have a path of your own?
32:04Just the motivating factor of, you know, creating my own path and, you know, my own career, you know,
32:12just makes me want to get up every day and work hard and come to the gym and learn from
32:17guys that have been longer,

33:38I wanted him.
33:39All the players wanted him.
33:40So, I think it's an amazing fit for us.
33:43You know, obviously, rim protector.
33:45But, then, offense, he improved so much that he's going to help us a lot.
33:51I mean, that's it right there.
33:53Right?
33:53And, we talked about this in real time on Shine Time.

33:57I really wanted Walker Kessler.
34:01These are Luka Doncic's Lakers.
34:03That's it.
34:04We can talk about ownership.

34:29They found players to play around Luka Doncic.

34:39That's what makes sense.
34:40And, I think Doncic is about to explode.
34:43And, have an unbelievable season in every phase.

34:50LeBron is gone.
34:51That's going to benefit him.
34:52The Lakers know they could win with Doncic as the number one.
34:57Austin Reeves as the number two.
35:00Walker Kessler.
35:01You can talk about, you know, what they paid him or anything else.
35:06He is a perfect fit around Luka Doncic.
35:11He is going to be a terrific Laker.
35:14The four signature moves this offseason were all calculated to play around Luka Doncic.
35:23They are better on defense.
35:25Better on offense.
35:26They are a deeper team.
35:28J.J. Redick is a fabulous in-game coach.
35:31I think the Lakers are going to be better this year than last year.
35:35And, that's not me throwing shade at LeBron.
35:38It's about fit around Luka.
35:40I think LeBron is still a fantastic player.
35:43Obviously, second-best NBA player in the history of the sport.
35:45And, like we just talked about, he's going to be incredible, leading Philadelphia to new heights.
35:52But, I really love, and it's not getting talked about enough, exactly what the Lakers did in the offseason.
35:59And, I think that this quote is healthy.
36:03What the Lakers did is they involved Luka Doncic in the process.
36:08Luka, I really wanted Walker Kessler.
36:11Backs up everything we talked about when they made this move.

36:46It is time right now to present the most coveted award that an NFL player or coach can get every
36:53single week.

36:56Let's start with number five.
36:59Kevin O'Connell, the coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
37:03And, listen, I think Kevin O'Connell is a sensational coach.
37:08And, when I say the Minnesota Vikings, we're talking about the undefeated Minnesota Vikings.
37:14Kind of gets lost in the shuffle a little bit because, well, Baker Mayfield, he got hurt.
37:20And, then, the week before, it was Caleb Williams got hurt.
37:24Nonsense.
37:25What O'Connell has done with injuries on his own team, including Kyler Murray,
37:31who finally played his first full game and threw his first touchdown as a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings,
37:38just incredible.
37:40Brian Flores' defense flying around.
37:42Justin Jefferson, they got some good news on the injury front for him.
37:47You look at the Vikings' schedule.
37:49I'm telling you, this is the beginning of the beginning because they are going to crunch in the Brian Flores'
37:56revenge game.
37:57The Miami Dolphins coming up this week.
38:00And, then, New Orleans is going to be tough.
38:03Colts, Lions.
38:04I mean, I told you before the season the Minnesota Vikings would make the playoffs.
38:09And, frankly, at this stage, even as we rave about the Chicago Bears,
38:14sky's the limit here for the Minnesota Vikings,
38:18who have that head-to-head win against the Bears right now in the bank.
38:22I think Kevin O'Connell is one of the best in the business.
38:26He's one of my guys from week number three.
38:28How about Jameer Gibbs?
38:29My guy, Jameer Gibbs.
38:30The way he ran the ball with authority, domination, flash, wiggle,
38:38it was unbelievable against the Jets.
38:42I mean, he had a touchdown run where he ran for 50 yards on a 17-yard touchdown run,
38:48according to NextGenStats.
38:50He is unbelievable.
38:52Watching him play is just amazing.
38:56And the Jets have a really good defense.
38:57His speed, his eyes, his power, his precision.
39:02You look at the numbers and what he was able to do against the Jets,
39:05and he was the difference.
39:06I mean, and look at what he's done in terms of the second player in NFL history.
39:11300 more rushing yards, 150 receiving yards,
39:15six more touchdowns in the first three games of a season.
39:19Look at what he did with carries and total touchdowns, three of them.
39:24He was the reason why Detroit was able to survive the Jets.
39:28And part of the reason why I didn't hot take the Jets losing,
39:31because the Lions have dudes, starting with my guy, Jameer Gibbs.
39:36Number three, my guy, Brock Bowers.
39:39Brock and roll.
39:41Brock Bowers is the best tight end in the National Football League.
39:45Not my guy, George Kittle.
39:47Not my guy, Trey McBride.
39:48Not my guy, Travis Kelsey anymore.
39:51Brock Bowers missed the first two weeks of the season.
39:53And Brock Bowers comes back, and he just lit up the New Orleans Saints.
39:59Remember, too, it was the first time he's ever played a regular season game
40:02with Kirk Cousins, like they've been rocking together for years.
40:07Look at the numbers for our guy, Brock Bowers.
40:11Remember, he was hurt, didn't play first two weeks.
40:1510 catches, 116 yards, and a touchdown in his season debut.
40:21Rock and roll.
40:22Number two, my guy, Tyler Loop.
40:25Listen, obviously, you've got to make the kick to make it all stick, right?
40:31We kill Brian Schottenheimer for how he handled the clock at the end.
40:36We kill him for not squibbing it.
40:38We kill him for the play selection before the field goal for Aubrey.
40:41We kill Christian Parker for the defense.
40:44We credit Lamar and Zay Flowers.
40:46How about Loop bombing it with a second to go?
40:49Just unbelievable.
40:52And this is the same Tyler Loop who missed that kick,
40:54ended the Harbaugh era against Pittsburgh last year.
40:57I feel so happy for him.
40:59Tyler Loop, my guy, number two.
41:02And my number one guy from this past week, Brock Purdy.
41:08Honestly, this story needs to be told.
41:12After Josh Allen, if we start doing an early MVP ranking, Brock Purdy's number two on my list.
41:20Brock Purdy has been flawless, dominant, unbelievable.
41:24Take a look at Brock Purdy's numbers this season.
41:28He's completing 72% of his passes.
41:32Look at the touchdown to interception ratio.
41:37Look at what he did with the four touchdowns.
41:39They needed them all against Arizona.
41:42And remember, you had injuries with Mike Evans, Trent Williams.
41:48We're talking about two future Hall of Famers, middle of the game.
41:51And this team was able to Brock and roll because of Purdy.
41:56Listen, sometimes I'm guilty of it where it feels like we're not giving or someone's not giving Purdy enough credit
42:03because we credit Kyle Shanahan.
42:05Listen, that is never meant as an insult, right?
42:09Shanahan is a genius.
42:10He discovered Purdy.
42:11Obviously, Shanahan's the best when it comes to call and plays.
42:15Brock Purdy is his guy.
42:17And he's out there after the film study, after the preparation.
42:21He's a leader.
42:22The way he executes on game day, he is phenomenal.
42:26He is a surgeon.
42:28I am obsessed.
42:29He was my number one guy from this past week in the NFL.
42:34Brock and roll.
42:35And when you start talking about teams that can go out and win the NFC and win the Super Bowl,
42:41and I still favor the Rams.
42:43Let's be crystal clear on that.
42:45Look at what Purdy did against them earlier in the season.
42:48Look at what Purdy has done throughout his career.
42:51Brock Purdy, to me, has been the second best quarterback in the NFL behind Josh Allen when you look at
42:59the first three weeks of the NFL campaign.
43:02But wait, there's more.
43:08Knowing what you know now, would you do anything differently with Pete Alonzo?
43:14You know, I think that's a very fair question.
43:17The truth is, in this job, I don't get mulligans.
43:22I also recognize Pete had a tremendous year, and the totality of our production at first base wasn't good enough.
43:30And so now it's my job to ensure that we've got better success across our roster, but for the entire
43:38season, better production at first base as well.
43:41David Cerns talked to the press yesterday and flat-out embarrassed himself.
43:45He dropped lines that made absolutely no sense.
43:49I don't get mulligans.
43:51He referenced Alonzo's great year and how there was no productivity at first base.
43:55He talked about where he went wrong and different things and made weird faces and, you know, said things in
44:03a very quizzical way.
44:04There is absolutely no way, if you're a Mets fan, you watch that and you're inspired.
44:10It sucks.
44:11It absolutely sucks.
44:13Now, they do have Steve Cohen's money to spend.
44:16Obviously, the Mets finished the season on a high.
44:19I love that Green is coming back as the manager, but every time I see Pete Alonzo in a Baltimore
44:24Orioles uniform, I mean, if you're a Mets fan, you kind of shake and shiver a little bit.
44:28There was never any excuse.
44:30That was the easiest first guess in the history of first guesses.
44:34Pete Alonzo was one of the all-time great Mets, still in his prime, thrived on center stage at Citi
44:42Field.
44:42This regime will never get over saying goodbye to Pete Alonzo.
44:48Last but not least, the late game of the wildcard quadruple header today.
44:53I'm amped for this with the Cubs and the Padres.
44:57If I was ranking the wildcard series, Yankees, Red Sox, number one, Braves, Phillies, number two, I think the Padres,
45:05Cubs is number three.
45:06And, you know, they tell me the White Sox and the Astros are playing, but are they really?
45:11I think Cubs and Padres is going to be a banger.
45:16If the Cubs were healthy, I might pick Chicago, what PCA did in an MVP season, 40-40 club, great
45:23defense, tough clutch.
45:25I would pick Chicago, but Gossman's on 100%.
45:28Cubs limp into the playoffs.
45:30There was a moment in time this summer in August, I said, you know what?
45:35Cubs can make a run.
45:36That ship has sailed.
45:37The Padres, to me, are going to win this series.
45:42Then we are going to see the Padres beat the Milwaukee Brewers.
45:46And then we are going to see the Dodgers and the Padres going up against each other.
45:54Winner goes to the World Series.
45:55And I think that would be amazing for baseball.
45:58And I want to see it.
46:00I think it would be great for the sport.
46:01The Padres fans, like when you talk about atmospheres in baseball, right, and everyone knows about Yankee Stadium or Fenway
46:10Park or Dodger Stadium.
46:12I think Philadelphia has unbelievable baseball playoff ambiance.
46:19Toronto, when the Blue Jays are rocking and rolling.
46:22You can make the case that the most underrated crowd and home field advantage in all of baseball, San Diego.
46:30San Diego's fans are passionate.
46:33They're unbelievable.
46:34They're knowledgeable.
46:35The ballpark is beautiful.
46:37They always just light it up when it comes to the playoffs.
46:41They have superstars who play their best on center stage.
46:45Listen, I'm going to be up all night watching the Padres and the Chicago Cubs.
46:52PCA is must-see TV.
46:54Padres are amazing.
46:55That ballpark is incredible.
46:57And I can't wait, not only for the Padres to beat the Cubs, but for the Padres to beat the
