00:00If the Dallas Cowboys don't want to play anymore just tell us we'll stop talking about them because I can't
00:06watch this garbage and slop and keep believing and picking the Dallas Cowboys week after week. Jerry Jones defending Brian
00:14Schottenheimer. Get the hell out of here.
00:23Yeah I mean obviously it's a big game I mean I'm not going to hide from that but now you're
00:28kind of in the dogfight for the division.
00:29I think it's something that coach has been saying I'm like when we come out here on Sundays on the
00:32six seconds of reset up.
00:33You know I'm not going to throw the ball I got to get active somehow.
00:35That's the goal right to to go out there and be the best quarterback that you can be.
00:40I'm not very complete.
00:41Come to this game I'll be disappointed in the outcome of this game.
00:45I like when he gets emotional like that.
00:46This is where I've grown up you know this is where I've grown up.
00:49We tee it up for those kind of spots to win it.
00:54We really do want those situations.
00:56Call for it bring it on.
00:57And we got it and didn't get it.
01:00A lot of people let Brian down today.
01:03What an epic weekend in the National Football League.
01:06Another banger.
01:07Incredible games.
01:08Unprecedented results.
01:10Upset specials.
01:11And this is a manic Monday here on Shine Time after a legendary sensational NFL Sunday.
01:18We need to start with the Dallas Cowboys.
01:21Because honestly that was a gutless pathetic puke of a performance.
01:28If the Dallas Cowboys don't want to play anymore just tell us.
01:31We'll stop talking about them.
01:33Because I can't watch this garbage and slop and keep believing and picking the Dallas Cowboys week after week.
01:40Jerry Jones defending Brian Schottenheimer get the hell out of here saying it's not Schotty's fault and players let Schotty
01:47down.
01:48That's nonsense.
01:49Brian Schottenheimer should not be the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
01:53Should have never been hired in the first place.
01:55And listen I thought the Dallas Cowboys would be a great team this year despite what I thought of Brian
02:01Schottenheimer as a head coach.
02:03Because listen I really respected the talent.
02:06And worst case scenario going into this week against Arizona I said all right great news.
02:13The Dallas Cowboys have Arizona.
02:15Arizona at home.
02:16They'll be able to win that game.
02:18They can bank it.
02:18They can take care of business.
02:20Move it forward.
02:21They're going to.
02:21They beat Philadelphia the week before.
02:23They'll get another victory.
02:25And when they were up by 14 points on Sunday it was over.
02:30Instead this was a historic inept pathetic collapse.
02:36You look at the defense.
02:37You look at Christian Parker's unit.
02:39You take a look at what transpired in this unbelievable comeback by Arizona and Gardner Minshew.
02:46You take a look at the Dallas Cowboys and how they collapsed and choked in epic proportion.
02:51Up by 14 points.
02:55This is the first time in the history of the Dallas Cowboys at home that they have been up by
03:0214 or more points in the fourth quarter.
03:04And they choked and they blew it.
03:07A historic inept performance.
03:10And yeah you take a look at some of these unfathomable losses.
03:15I mean this is as bad as it gets.
03:17First home loss as we mentioned in team history up 14 or more points in the fourth quarter.
03:21They were 202-0-1.
03:28And look at these two losses at home.
03:30Right.
03:30They lost to Jalen Daniels in his first ever road start.
03:34He's not even a quarterback in the league anymore.
03:36He's a backup to Baker Mayfield.
03:37The Baker didn't complete a pass over the weekend.
03:40Seriously.
03:41They were nine and a half point favorites in Vegas.
03:43They were over a touchdown favorites against the Arizona Cardinals.
03:47And this was garbage.
03:48And before anyone says well blame the players.
03:51Here's all I know.
03:52Before we get into specifics when it comes to the players.
03:55If Mike McCarthy was still coaching the Dallas Cowboys.
03:58They would have six wins.
04:00Bare bones minimum.
04:01Mike McCarthy would have won in Rio against the Baltimore Ravens.
04:05Mike McCarthy would have won against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
04:08Mike McCarthy would have won on Sunday.
04:12And if that sounds like a random name.
04:14Let's remember Jerry Jones said goodbye to Mike McCarthy to bring in and elevate Brian Schottenheimer.
04:19No one in the NFL was interviewing Brian Schottenheimer.
04:22Wanted him to be a head coach in the National Football League.
04:25Mike McCarthy won 12 games.
04:28Three consecutive years for the Dallas Cowboys.
04:30You can talk about the Green Bay playoff game until the cows come home.
04:33Look at what McCarthy's doing in Pittsburgh.
04:35Look at what he did for all those years.
04:37Won a Super Bowl.
04:38Won a ton of games.
04:39Won playoff games with the Green Bay Packers.
04:41There's a street named after him in Green Bay.
04:43Instead you have this.
04:45And listen to Jerry's point.
04:48The players deserve blame.
04:50But Shottie clearly did not get them ready.
04:52I thought the defense was deplorable.
04:55When Gardner Minshew is carving you up.
04:57When Tyler Algier busts off that incredible run in the fourth quarter.
05:01It looks like Earl Campbell in his prime.
05:03I mean it simply put can't happen.
05:05I thought the offense was inept.
05:07I thought Dak did a bad job.
05:08And everyone knows I'm a Dak Prescott fan.
05:10I thought the wide receivers were terrible.
05:12Lamb didn't have the chops.
05:14George Pickens was invisible.
05:15Offensive line wasn't very good.
05:17The run game wasn't very good.
05:19Even when they were up by 14 it wasn't an offensive explosion.
05:23This was a pathetic performance.
05:26And listen.
05:26It wasn't even supposed to go into overtime.
05:29I mean Ryland whose money missed the extra point to take the lead.
05:32They go into overtime.
05:34You figured all right Dallas has reprieved.
05:35There's no way they're going to lose.
05:36And they did.
05:38Awful.
05:39Absolutely unacceptable.
05:41And now this is a problem for the Dallas Cowboys.
05:46And without question one of the biggest winners of week eight in the NFL.
05:52Well the New York football Giants and they didn't even play.
05:57That is unbelievable.
05:59If you're a Giants fan you had an unreal weekend.
06:03I mean you're sitting back.
06:04You've got your feet up on the couch.
06:06And you're watching the Cowboys commit the Cardinal sin of losing to the Arizona Cardinals.
06:12When they're up by 14 points at home.
06:14Trey McBride is talking smack to Caleb Downs saying you were a first round pick.
06:19It's like he told Mike Evans in terms of trash talk this year.
06:23Hold my beer.
06:24I mean that's unbelievable.
06:26So look at the schedules for the next four weeks.
06:30When it comes to the Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.
06:33The New York football Giants have a golden opportunity.
06:37And we're raising the bar on the Giants here.
06:40To take at minimum three of their next four games.
06:43I know the Jacksonville game is in New York.
06:46And listen Giants all of a sudden have played well at home.
06:50Jacksonville will enter the better team.
06:51They're going to have a couple of division rivals in a condensed period.
06:55The artist formerly known as the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
06:58Then short week with Washington coming to town.
07:01Listen that game should not have ended in a tie.
07:04They should have won.
07:05I know how great Jalen Daniels is.
07:07I don't care.
07:09Jalen Daniels at the end of the day.
07:10It's a one man band.
07:11They absolutely and the Colts police.
07:14They've just given up on professional football.
07:16Dallas in theory should be able to beat the Colts.
07:19Should be able to beat the Tennessee Titans.
07:21And on Thanksgiving should be able to beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
07:24But there's no shot they're going to be able to beat the San Francisco 49ers.
07:28which really puts the Giants if you think about it because I predict both teams will go three and one
07:35over the next four games in the driver's seed for December football.
07:40So you look at the standings and understand if both teams go three and one monster advantage for the Giants
07:49when it comes to a December stretch run.
07:51So if you're a Cowboys fan you've got to be sick.
07:54If you're a Giants fan this is about as great as it gets.
07:58More incentive if you're the Giants to go trade for Jonathan Taylor to cement that you're the team to beat
08:04in the NFC East.
08:05If your ownership if you're the Giants you trade for Jonathan Taylor cements getting a home playoff game which would
08:12be unbelievable.
08:12The Dallas Cowboys embarrassed themselves.
08:16They embarrassed me.
08:18I took the cheese on the Cowboys.
08:20I said preseason they would win the East.
08:22I said they play on Championship Sunday.
08:23I mean this is a joke.
08:25And what's been the common theme and denominator over the last 30 years they haven't played on Championship Sunday in
08:2930 years.
08:30Jerry Jones his cluelessness his buffoonery are complete and utter unacceptable disgrace.
08:37I mean on the heels of what happened against Baltimore what happened against Tampa Bay.
08:42You had to be able to take care of business and it's not one of those where you tip the
08:46cap to the opposition.
08:47You're up 14 points in the fourth quarter embarrassing.
08:52Everyone deserves all sorts of blame.
08:54Brian Schottenheimer should not finish the season.
08:57The Dallas Cowboys players they absolutely should be embarrassed and humiliated and humbled.
09:03A pathetic display of disgraceful football from the Dallas Cowboys.
09:09To the West where the two L.A. stories are shaping up to have two very different endings.
09:13The Rams beat up on the Chargers but Pukunakua knows his squad can't let up.
09:18I think it's something that coach has been saying.
09:20I'm like when we come out here on Sundays on the six seconds of reset.
09:22I'm like this is something that we got to be able to continue to build upon.
09:25But it's not something that we can exhale from.
09:27There's still a lot of improvement.
09:28I'm obviously not being able to get out there and execute early in that first half.
09:31That's something that we can't have alone.
09:33If our defense is playing their butts off like that we got to be able to go out there and
09:36play complimentary football.
09:37So we're minimizing their time on the field that we can get explosive plays and keep us on the field.
09:41Love that sound bite from Pukunakua.
09:43Love what Pukunakua brought to the table.
09:45And let me tell you what happened to the Rams yesterday.
09:48The Rams showed their back.
09:50And I want to stress this.
09:51The Rams are 4-4.
09:52Now obviously you look at the Rams schedule and still have to take advantage of teams you're supposed to beat.
09:57And after 10 weeks they have to be 6-4.
10:01No question about it.
10:02They have Green Bay obviously coming up on Thanksgiving Eve.
10:06Have to be able to win that game.
10:08And I really think that the L.A. Rams still make the playoffs.
10:12Remember that's not good enough.
10:14This team will be judged by whether or not they make a true run to the Super Bowl.
10:18But I thought what transpired with the Rams was absolutely terrific.
10:22Nakua was unstoppable.
10:25Shaw McVay did an excellent job establishing balance on offense.
10:29Kyron Williams and Blake Corham running the football.
10:31These guys were incredible.
10:33The defense did not give up a touchdown.
10:36Played terrific.
10:37I thought this was a tremendous win by the Rams.
10:41Not just that they won.
10:42They looked great.
10:44You look at L.A.
10:45You look where they are in the standings.
10:47You look at their upcoming schedule.
10:48You look at what has happened.
10:49Then you start going into the crystal ball.
10:52You can now see the Rams ultimately doing everything that you need them to do to become a team that
10:59can live up to their expectations.
11:01So I thought this was inspiring for the Rams.
11:05Chargers, they're an embarrassment.
11:07A complete and utter embarrassment.
11:09Once again, they had zero touchdowns.
11:12Herbert looked terrible.
11:13How Mike McDaniel holds a job, I have no idea.
11:17You take a look at the offense.
11:20It was offensive.
11:21The offensive line stinks.
11:23The defense got shoved around.
11:25And here's what's fascinating, and I feel compelled to really hit this home.
11:29Jim Harbaugh had no answers.
11:32The press really hit him after the game with amazing questions on what's going on.
11:40And Jim kept talking in word salads.
11:43And the press focused on, well, how do you fix it?
11:47What are the problems?
11:48And Jim really said, nothing.
11:52Not a word.
11:53Zero.
11:54Zip.
11:54Nada.
11:55And Jim Harbaugh, if you have followed his career, no matter where he's been as a head coach, we could
12:01talk college, San Diego, Stanford, Michigan.
12:04We could talk the NFL, where he was sensational, obviously, in San Francisco, and, you know, started off his Charger
12:10career phenomenal, winning double-digit games all the time.
12:1411 wins last year, 11 wins the year before.
12:18Jim Harbaugh has never faced adversity like this as a head coach.
12:22Never.
12:23I mean, he battled Jed York when he was in San Francisco, had to clean things up in Michigan.
12:28This is a disaster.
12:30They are the worst team in the NFL, record-wise, eyeball test.
12:35They get shoved around left and right.
12:37The L.A. Chargers are the biggest failure and flop in the National Football League.
12:43And I actually don't think there's a chance, as we speak, that the Chargers would ever fire Jim Harbaugh.
12:49And I think for the Chargers and their fans, you know, Mike McDaniel at some point will be the sacrificial
12:54lamb.
12:54But I think that they believe that they can still win with Herbert and Jim Harbaugh.
13:00And I think Harbaugh is an unbelievable coach.
13:03But it's pretty clear he has no answers here.
13:06And for a guy who's a brilliant tactician, a winner, and he's always been, I mean this as a compliment,
13:13able to turn things around.
13:15And ultimately, when the train starts rolling, it just stays on the track and is going at 100 miles per
13:22hour.
13:23You know, Harbaugh can be tough on his players, but he has no answers right now.
13:28None.
13:29Compare and contrast a Jim Harbaugh press conference to a John Harbaugh press conference.
13:35John Harbaugh calls out his players.
13:37John Harbaugh cuts Najee Harris.
13:40He benches Cam Scadaboo.
13:41He says this is ultimately not acceptable, whatever it is at a specific moment.
13:47Jim Harbaugh has nothing.
13:49It's kind of weird.
13:51It's kind of alarming.
13:53And if you're a Charger fan, this is officially hell.
13:57I thought this was noteworthy for both teams.
14:00The way the Rams were able to cook, the belief that the Rams are back,
14:06it's actually getting worse by the second when you look at it for the Chargers.
14:10I thought the most impressive victory of any team in the league was what the Lions did to the Minnesota
14:18Vikings.
14:19And the Minnesota Vikings have a problem.
14:22Kyler Murray?
14:23More like Kyler Worry.
14:27The stats are bad.
14:29The feel is worse.
14:32Kyler Murray can't complete the forward pass.
14:35Kyler Murray refuses to throw the ball to Justin Jefferson.
14:39Justin Jefferson is always open.
14:42If you don't believe me, ask Kirk Cousins.
14:45In fact, the California Post did an interview with Kirk Cousins over the weekend.
14:50And, you know, they asked him who you compare Brock Bowers to.
14:54And he said the comparison is Justin Jefferson.
14:56Because I learned with Justin Jefferson in Minnesota, even when he's covered, he's open.
15:01You've got to throw him the ball.
15:02And it taught me how to play the position of quarterback.
15:05Justin Jefferson went nuts on the sideline yesterday.
15:08And I don't blame him.
15:10Justin Jefferson, who is as media-friendly and savvy and has such an unbelievable intelligence and personality,
15:16one of my favorite guys to interview in all sports.
15:19Justin Jefferson did not talk to the press yesterday.
15:22You know why?
15:23Because he would have said something he regretted.
15:25So I'm not even going to criticize him for a shirking responsibility.
15:29Justin Jefferson could do no wrong in my book when it comes to something like this.
15:33Kyler Murray looks awful.
15:34He can't hit the broadside of a barn.
15:36I mean, there were moments, and, you know, if I was Kevin O'Connell, I would have kicked a field
15:41goal.
15:41You know, after the whole awful situation, we're praying for Jack Campbell.
15:45It's a very scary situation without question.
15:49I would have kicked a field goal there.
15:52You know, I had no issue when he decided to punt on the fourth and five on the 33 to
15:56put it in the hands of his defense
15:57because Kyler Murray can't execute, can't make a play.
16:02I mean, it's crazy.
16:04We're at a stage right now, Carson Wentz might have to play quarterback.
16:08I mean, that's what we're talking about.
16:09J.J. McCarthy, you know, they didn't want him.
16:12They ruined him.
16:12He didn't want to be there.
16:13However you want to frame it, you know, ownership, the old general manager totally messed up the quarterback position.
16:18You know, maybe in this stage, you got to bring back Daniel Jones.
16:21You know, they're on the phone with the Colts trying to get Jonathan Taylor.
16:24I still think that's a perfect destination.
16:26You know, maybe you got to talk about bringing Daniel Jones back to the mix.
16:29Remember, he had that cup of coffee in Minnesota after the Giants cut him a few years ago.
16:34This is a mess, a complete mess.
16:37Now, being fair, I am not going to make this about Minnesota.
16:43And I said that I refused to call them frauds.
16:45I was dead wrong in the game.
16:46I picked Minnesota to win.
16:48I think this is about Detroit.
16:50Dan Campbell, who's a punching bag for me, I thought the Lions and Dan Campbell did a great job.
16:55I thought they were ridiculously efficient and tough on offense.
17:00I thought their defense was excellent.
17:03Brian Branch, his return, has changed everything.
17:06The three and out that they forced on defense, huge.
17:10That was a big deal.
17:12And then you saw Jared Goff, who threw his first interception of the season earlier in the game.
17:16Jared Goff, it's Jamison Williams, 435 to go.
17:20That was a big deal in that moment.
17:22So I really thought that was a huge sequence.
17:25Then after that aforementioned punt, when O'Connell punted, I thought it was terrific.
17:30Just amazing job by the offense, the offensive line, the toughness of Campbell, Jameer Gibbs.
17:36They ran the ball, they bled the clock, they won the game.
17:40Absolutely terrific.
17:41I think Detroit's getting a fifth win is a big deal.
17:45I still don't think the Lions necessarily are great.
17:48This was a terrific, terrific win.
17:51I still think Minnesota makes the playoffs, but they need to go get someone like Jonathan Taylor.
17:57I think they need to consider bringing in another quarterback.
18:01I mean, Kyler Murray has been dreadful.
18:03Whether it's bringing back Kirk Cousins, making a trade for Daniel Jones, going to the bullpen with Carson Wentz,
18:11you can't keep functioning with this kind of inept play at the quarterback position.
18:17And Kyler Murray needs to realize, even when Justin Jefferson is covered, he's open.
18:24It's one thing to lose and you say, okay, tip the cap to the opposition, and that's definitely the case.
18:29Detroit's absolutely earned this.
18:31This was an eyesore on offense again from the Minnesota Vikings.
18:37Yeah, I mean, obviously it was a big game.
18:38I mean, I'm not going to hide from that.
18:40But now you're kind of in the dogfight for the division.
18:42And so you have to take it a week at a time, a day at a time, a play at
18:47a time, really.
18:48It's just, you just try to get better and better.
18:51And so at the end of the year, you're playing your best football, and you've put yourself in position to
18:55go out there and make a run for it.
18:56Obviously, we've lost these last two games against two really good football teams.
18:59But I was proud of how the guys battled.
19:01It wasn't perfect, but we battled.
19:02And we'll learn from it and have to get better and come up this next week and find a way
19:07to get back on that and the win column.
19:09How about that?
19:11Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs lose in Denver when they were up 24-13.
19:19That game is over.
19:22I already figured, all right, Chiefs won.
19:25That hits in terms of shine lines, picking the games against the spread.
19:30Not so fast.
19:31I still cannot believe it.
19:33The Denver Broncos have won 15 straights, one-score games.
19:40Think about that.
19:41Patrick Mahomes now in the fourth quarter.
19:44Ready for this?
19:45Mahomes up by double digits in the fourth quarter.
19:49Now 80-3 in his career when he's up double digits in the fourth quarter.
19:54This is how improbable that was from a Kansas City perspective.
19:58But again, you have to look at it this way.
20:01Okay, Knicks down double digits in the fourth quarter.
20:07We've seen this in New York, right, with the Knicks in the postseason.
20:12Bo Knicks, when he's down and he's uncomfortable, all of a sudden, he turns into Joe Montana.
20:18It's kind of crazy.
20:19That drive that was terrific, that was capped by Bo Knicks, fourth and two, two-yard touchdown pass to Nate
20:27Atkins for a touchdown.
20:28Then the two-point conversion to Waddle to make it 24-21.
20:33Okay, game on, but you still felt like, I know I did, Kansas City was going to win.
20:39Harrison Butker missed a 54-yard field goal.
20:43And I think Andy Reid is a Mount Rushmore all-time NFL head coach, top four.
20:48I made the case he's the second-best coach in the history of the NFL.
20:51Why would you trot out Harrison Butker?
20:53Made absolutely no sense.
20:55Butker stinks.
20:57He can't make kicks.
20:58He has infuriated everyone in that locker room, everyone in Kansas City.
21:02He's not a likable human being in any way, shape, or form.
21:06They just, in awful fashion, signed Justin Tucker, and I would not want Justin Tucker anywhere near my football team.
21:14He's on the practice squad because Butker can't kick.
21:17So why would you think, if you're Andy Reid, that this was going to be a spot on a situation
21:23where he was going to make that kick?
21:24Because if he misses, you give Bo Nix incredible field position and an opportunity to take the lead.
21:31So Butker, of course, missed from 54.
21:35And then you see Bo Nix hit Jonah Coleman, 51 yards.
21:39That was incredible.
21:40And on the very next play, bam, Coleman touchdown, five yards.
21:44And Coleman, the rookie running back, was phenomenal for the Denver Broncos.
21:48So then you see on the final drive, and it's set up with Johnson with the 44-yard kickoff.
21:53And you're like, okay, here we go again.
21:55And it's going to all just turn out to be sunshine and rainbows for Kansas City.
22:01Throw to Kelsey, Walker runs.
22:03Next thing you know, Kansas City has the ball on the five-yard line.
22:09Take a look at these plays to finish the game.
22:13And you have to give the Denver Broncos credit.
22:16I mean, look at Patrick Sertan making that tackle.
22:19That's why we made such a big deal about Patrick Sertan being back.
22:23And then take a look at it again.
22:25Bang!
22:26Walker gets stuffed.
22:27And the Broncos are able to, you know, have a goal line stand.
22:31And they just keep doing an unbelievable job slamming the door shut.
22:36Fourth down, it looks like, well, it's going to be a vintage Patrick Mahomes victory.
22:41And it's going to be a touchdown.
22:42He's going to be able to take care of business.
22:44Nope, not going to be the case.
22:47And you see the false start penalty that was called.
22:51And honestly, just changed everything.
22:54You back him up.
22:55And then ultimately you see what transpired where Nick Benito is able to sack Patrick Mahomes.
23:02And that will do it.
23:03Absolutely, positively, terrific and tremendous.
23:07From a Denver Bronco perspective, to be able to win the game like that, where it just seemed like it
23:14was going to be that familiar script and Kansas City would find a way.
23:18Instead, the Broncos behind Bo Nix and Nick's fourth quarter magic are in first place.
23:25A couple of important things here.
23:27Number one, if you root for anyone else other than the Chiefs, right, you're thrilled seeing that false start get
23:35called.
23:35How many times have you watched the Kansas City Chiefs play and they get all the breaks on every single
23:41call, every spot, all the garbage, all the nonsense.
23:45Taylor Swift wasn't at the game.
23:47So, hey, of course you're going to call the false start.
23:49And I can't listen to Travis Kelsey or Patrick Mahomes or anybody else complain after the game.
23:55No team has gotten more breaks over the last decade in the NFL than the Kansas City Chiefs.
24:00Of course you call the false start.
24:02Of course you call it in that kind of spot.
24:05Let's be crystal clear about that.
24:08That was the right call.
24:09That was the only call.
24:11And Patrick Mahomes could not execute after that.
24:15So, I don't want to hear about poor officiating in any way, shape, or form.
24:19That's number one.
24:20Number two, I expect the Broncos to win the division.
24:23I mean, let's be honest here.
24:25The Chiefs are not that good.
24:26And we said that, and again, you can go to the YouTube page.
24:30You're watching it here now.
24:31I mean, we have not been taking the cheese on Kansas City all year.
24:35Even when they were 5-0 and they were undefeated.
24:38We said, all right, Jacksonville's better.
24:40Buffalo's better.
24:41If you're doing an overall compare and contrast with other teams in the NFL in a power ranking.
24:45The Vikings are better.
24:47The 49ers are better.
24:48The Bears are better.
24:50The Seahawks, they beat them last week.
24:53They're better.
24:54Kansas City does not have a good offensive line.
24:57Kansas City does not have good special teams, especially the kicker position this year.
25:00The defense is getting shoved around.
25:02Love Chris Jones.
25:03Going to the Hall of Fame one day.
25:04He doesn't look the same.
25:06Receivers are non-existent.
25:08Lines non-existent.
25:09This team is not a true Super Bowl caliber team in any way, shape, or form.
25:15And that's not an overreaction.
25:17That's what we said during the five-game winning streak.
25:20That's what we said after Seattle.
25:22That's what we're saying today.
25:24I'm not saying they're going to bottom out and miss the playoffs.
25:27But I don't look at them as a team that will eventually win the division.
25:30I don't look at Kansas City as a team that can make a legit Super Bowl run.
25:34So if that's the expectation for Kansas City, it's just not going to happen.
25:39And I'm sorry.
25:40I do not want to hear anyone say, well, you can't call that in that spot.
25:44Of course you can.
25:46And they did.
25:47And Kansas City has gotten all sorts of calls and all sorts of breaks and all sorts of favorable
25:52spots and all sorts of look the other way when it comes to officiating forever.
25:57So how does it feel?
26:00Not great, right?
26:01Well, it's about damn time.
26:03So I loved every single second of the drama, the way Denver was able to hold.
26:08What a win for Sean Payton, Bo Nix, Jonah Coleman.
26:12Excellent stuff by Patrick Sertan and the defense.
26:15That's one of those, if you're a Broncos fan, considering who that was against, you celebrate,
26:20you party for 48 hours.
26:22That is a big deal.
26:23Now, hold on to it.
26:26Hold on to that lead in the division.
26:28Have Kansas City try and navigate on the road.
26:30That was a monster win and a monster deal when it comes to the Broncos.
26:36That they beat Kansas City, how they came back and beat Kansas City.
26:40All week long, the hype machine was working overtime with Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson
26:44squaring off.
26:45But when Lamar went down early, Buffalo rolled.
26:48Here's Josh Allen.
26:50That's the goal, right?
26:51To go out there and be the best quarterback that you can be and to go out there and play
26:58good football.
27:00Again, we've done that for quite some time now.
27:03We've got to continue to do that and find ways to be better and to get better and to
27:09break the records.
27:11It's cool, but I understand it's not just me.
27:13There's a lot of guys that have put a lot of work into this that have helped me get to
27:18this spot right here.
27:20Listen, Josh Allen now moves ahead of the legendary Hall of Famer, Bills legend, Jim Kelly, when
27:26it comes to most career passing touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills.
27:30And that's kind of a huge deal.
27:32And if you're a Buffalo Bills fan, you got to love this.
27:36And I'm not going to tell you that the Bills, you know, played in the first half this crisp
27:40game.
27:40I'm not going to tell you, you know, as the Ravens, we'll get to them in a second.
27:43We're down to their third quarterback, an undrafted kid from UConn that I've never heard of.
27:47I'm not going to tell you the defense is back.
27:49You're going to have to throw that out.
27:51But Josh Allen was terrific.
27:54Two passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown.
27:56James Cook was great.
27:57Dalton Kincaid was great.
27:58And they handled business.
28:00Take a look at the playoff seedings if, in fact, the season ended today in the AFC.
28:07And we called the league before the show.
28:10It doesn't end today.
28:11But now it's the job of the Buffalo Bills to make sure they get the one seed, make sure
28:19everyone in the AFC goes through Highmark and lovely Western New York.
28:25You see all these teams, including Buffalo, they all have flaws.
28:29There is no classically great team when you look at the AFC, which is why the Bills are
28:36absolutely the team to beat, because their offense is the best of any team in the conference.
28:42Their quarterback is the best player on the planet.
28:45And if they get home field, they're going to be impossible to beat.
28:50And what I need for the Bills, not only to get home field, get a bye, not to go all
28:54yogi on you.
28:55You can't lose if you don't play.
28:58And that would be a huge positive here for the Buffalo Bills.
29:01So this, to me, is a monster deal when you look at it from a Buffalo perspective.
29:07Now, the Ravens.
29:10My goodness.
29:11Lamar Jackson, first play, injures his thumb.
29:14He needs surgery.
29:15He's going to be out for at least the next four weeks.
29:18Then Snoop had the turf toe.
29:20They're playing some cat from UConn who wasn't even drafted.
29:24My goodness.
29:25By the way, Baltimore has a Thursday night game this week against Jacksonville.
29:31That's a mess.
29:33I said last week on Shine Time that if the Ravens lost, I would declare the season over.
29:38They not only lost, they lost Lamar Jackson.
29:40The season's over.
29:42There's no way they're going to beat Jacksonville.
29:44I mean, the fact that we have to watch the Chargers and the Ravens without Lamar in primetime
29:51on Monday Night Football.
29:53Yikes.
29:55They're going to beat Carolina, and I think that at this stage, there's no way you can
30:00predict that they will beat the Houston Texans.
30:03So I think there's a bigger picture thing when it comes to Baltimore.
30:08We talked to Lamar before the season started.
30:11This could be it for Jackson in Baltimore.
30:13I think that, you know, the Ravens obviously have to look at his health in addition to his contract.
30:20Lamar wanted to continue to play great to win another MVP, lead the Ravens to the promised land and make
30:28more money.
30:29Look, if I'm Baltimore, you've got to be careful here because Lamar Jackson is an out-of-this-world incredible
30:34talent, two-time MVP.
30:36You don't want to suddenly go on the wheel of quarterbacks, but there's a financial issue.
30:42You've got to pay him, and he acts as his own agent.
30:46And there's a health and availability issue that needs to be discussed with Lamar Jackson versus other quarterbacks.
30:53So this is something to pay attention to.
30:56It's going to be something to pay attention to after the four weeks on injured reserve.
31:00Something to pay attention to in terms of what's being said, what's being leaked from Jackson, from the Ravens.
31:07This is a disaster.
31:09And you know I liked Baltimore before the season started.
31:12I said they'd make the playoffs.
31:13I did not think they were a Super Bowl team.
31:15I had them third place in the AFC North and thought Cincinnati would win the division and Pittsburgh would finish
31:20in second place.
31:22This is a mess.
31:23Total disaster.
31:24League's always a better place when Lamar Jackson is on the field doing his thing.
31:29I live for Lamar.
31:30He's one of the most electrifying players that we've seen ever in the NFL.
31:34He is a special, special cat.
31:36That was a nightmare for Jackson and the Ravens on Sunday.
31:41It was a fight for first place in Pittsburgh where Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers came out on top.
31:46But the Pittsburgh quarterback says there's still a lot of work to be done on offense.
31:51Well, not very complete.
31:52Defense played excellent.
31:54Special teams did fine.
31:58But offense should have been a lot more points.
32:02Listen, I love the fact that Aaron Rodgers is pissed because that's Rodgers.
32:10And the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rodgers, a Hall of Famer, unbelievable player, one of my all-time favorites, greatest throw of
32:16the football that we've ever seen.
32:18And I really think at the end of the day, Aaron Rodgers is a main reason why the Steelers are
32:27in first place.
32:28And the Pittsburgh Steelers, when you look at it, this team's got it going on.
32:33And you look at the fact that they won against Cleveland, how they won against Cleveland, this is terrific.
32:41And let me tell you what they are.
32:43They are a well-coached, incredible winning team that can absolutely, will absolutely win in the playoffs for the first
32:53time since the Steelers beat Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015.
32:58They play incredible defense.
33:01They sacked Deshaun Watson eight times.
33:05That was incredible.
33:06Pressured him throughout the game.
33:07T.J. Watt and company, unbelievable.
33:09Jalen Warren is an absolute stud.
33:12He is terrific.
33:13He is tremendous.
33:14I can't get enough of watching him play.
33:16Rico Dowdle, he was effective as well.
33:19The offensive line is awesome.
33:21Aaron Rodgers makes a ton of plays.
33:23Mike McCarthy, all he does is win.
33:25And you have the Pittsburgh Steelers right now all lone and first.
33:29And I'm telling you, when you look at Pittsburgh, this team is not going anywhere.
33:34You look at the schedule for the next four, they should be able to at least, after the bye, go
33:38two and two.
33:40I'm telling you, I said this preseason, I'm staying very consistent.
33:43The Pittsburgh Steelers will win a minimum of 11.
33:47This is the year they finally win a playoff game.
33:49And if you look at it, in this AFC, which does not have classically great teams, the Steelers run the
33:56ball with authority, have a terrific offensive line.
34:00T.J. Watt anchors an incredible, terrific, tremendous defense.
34:04They have a coach who knows how to win, a quarterback who's going to the Hall of Fame who knows
34:10how to win.
34:11Sure, the receiver core is weak.
34:13The tight ends are great.
34:15This team has the elements to not only hold on to first, but they're one of the most trustworthy teams
34:22in the entire league.
34:23I think people are kind of underrating the Pittsburgh Steelers, undervaluing the Pittsburgh Steelers.
34:29And listen, I think the Browns are solid.
34:32And they beat the hell out of them.
34:33I still think Cleveland's going to win 10 games this year.
34:36You know, you look at their schedule, you watch them play, they're well-coached, they still have a lot of
34:39good players.
34:40Jared Verst, foolishly, we talked about this last week, poked a bear.
34:45And honestly, they literally, figuratively, all of it, they took them, they threw them, and they beat the hell out
34:52of them.
34:52Jared Verst did nothing.
34:53I mean, that's what happens when you talk smack in an NFL game.
34:56So, I think the Steelers were one of the big winners in the NFL in week number eight.
35:01Not only that they won, how they won, and the signs are there, big picture, that the Steelers are going
35:09to be a pain in the ass in the AFC come playoff time.
35:13Listen, the Cincinnati Bengals, this was a wild ride.
35:20When you look at the ballgame against the Tennessee Titans, never in a million years did I think this one
35:27was going to go to overtime.
35:29Joe Burrow, six total touchdowns, and he did an amazing job feeding his stud wide receivers.
35:38When tomorrow is emotional like that, how do you, you've obviously been teammates for a long time, how do you
35:43make sure that that's channeled the right way?
35:47I don't think I need to make sure about that.
35:50You know, he's a pro, and, you know, guys get emotional sometimes.
35:53That's how it is.
35:56I like when he gets emotional like that.
35:59That usually means that I need to do a better job of throwing the ball.
36:05Joe Burrow, six touchdowns.
36:07Five in the air, one on the ground.
36:09The one that he ran in proved to be the go-ahead scorer in overtime.
36:13And you look at Burrow, the stats are amazing.
36:16And this includes, by the way, the fact that he threw three interceptions in this game.
36:20You give Joe Burrow credit because this was legit NFL history.
36:27The numbers he was able to put up.
36:30Then you have Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins, unequivocally the best one-two punch,
36:36and we have said that forever at the wide receiver position in the NFL.
36:39I'm not just a pretty face with great hair.
36:41I'm also a voter when it comes to all the awards and first team All-Pro,
36:45second team All-Pro in the NFL.
36:47And I'm not saying that for any other reason to explain.
36:50I think Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins both are two of the top six wide receivers in the NFL,
36:57and both would get my vote right now, one first team, one second team,
37:02for All-Pro wide receiver this season.
37:05So this is pretty remarkable when you look at the maintained, sustained excellence of this combination.
37:11And what Higgins did was incredible, and it was noteworthy.
37:15And what Jamar Chase did was out of this world.
37:17Also, it was needed.
37:20And this is where we kind of have the conversation about the Bengals in the small scheme of their team,
37:29the bigger picture in the division, and the broader picture in the AFC.
37:34Before the season started, I picked the Bengals to play on Championship Sunday and lose against the Buffalo Bills.
37:40I don't think that's going to be the case right now.
37:43They need to play better on defense.
37:44And Dexter Lawrence did an excellent job in crunch time.
37:47But when you're giving up chunks of yards to Cam Ward,
37:51when Tony Pollard is scoring touchdowns and getting chunk plays left and right,
37:56and this is a Titans team that just traded, stunningly, especially in the building,
38:02their best player in Jeffrey Simmons, and they take you to overtime, that's not acceptable.
38:09They also could not run the ball, and the line needs to do a better job.
38:13So, Burrow, Chase, Higgins, phenomenal in reality and great for your fantasy team.
38:20But if you're a Bengals fan, or if you bet the Bengals preseason to do special things in the AFC,
38:26you need to be better.
38:27I get what the record says.
38:29I understand that they're in the playoffs right now.
38:31But I'm still waiting for this team to look like a true title contender.
38:38That's the goal for the Cincinnati Bengals.
38:41Burrow, unbelievable.
38:43But I want to see more here.
38:45Zach Taylor's first half was atrocious.
38:48I don't believe he's a big-time head coach.
38:50Game plan was batty.
38:52You know, some people think they could be a sleeper for Jonathan Taylor.
38:55I personally don't see that.
38:57I don't trust the Cincinnati Bengals now as a team that could represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
39:10Ah, yes.
39:11It was a Sunday.
39:12Ugly Sunday for some teams.
39:14Some coaches and players.
39:15Even a win.
39:17Let's kick things off with the head coach.
39:19We can't believe hasn't been kicked to the curb yet.
39:22Comes to this game, obviously disappointed in the outcome of this game.
39:26Obviously a high-scoring game.
39:28I thought our offense did an outstanding job of moving the ball.
39:32I thought they did an outstanding job of creating explosive plays.
39:36We scored touchdowns, which were good.
39:39The one thing that I would say that's a negative is, man, we were still 2 of 6 when it
39:42comes to the red zone.
39:43The one thing is identifying an issue and then having the challenge of being able to make sure we fix
39:48those issues.
39:50Look, the league is all about one-score games.
39:53I mean, it's been a record this year in terms of one-score games, eight points or fewer,
39:59through eight weeks, most in the history of the NFL.
40:02The Jets can't function in one-score games because Aaron Glenn doesn't know what the hell he's doing.
40:07Jets did a lot of things well yesterday.
40:09They're coached by Aaron Glenn, and that's why they can't function.
40:13Why?
40:14Why is Aaron Glenn still here?
40:16If they had a different head coach, they would have at least three more wins.
40:21Think about that.
40:23They would have beat Green Bay.
40:24Would have beat the Raiders yesterday.
40:26Would have beat Miami.
40:27And don't tell anyone this.
40:29They could have beat the New England Patriots, too, if they had a real head coach.
40:34The good news is, if you watch the Jets and you're being honest, there's a lot of talent on the
40:39field.
40:39There's also a lot in terms of draft capital.
40:43So if you're a fan of the Jets or if you're looking around, if you're a coach in college or
40:49if you're an assistant coach or if you're thinking about, you know, coming out of retirement if you're a head
40:55coach or leaving TV if you're a head coach, any way you want to slice it, this is the draft
41:02capital at your disposal right now.
41:04And Indianapolis, this pick, could get even better.
41:08I mean, the Jets pick could get even better.
41:11The Dallas pick could go either way, but it just doesn't even matter at this stage.
41:16This is an absolute haul.
41:18So, look, I thought the Jets did a lot of great things on offense.
41:23They obviously poured on the points.
41:25And I think if I'm a coach, you know, the owner is the absolute worst.
41:29And that's a detriment because, you know, it's all relatable to all of us.
41:33You want to like the people you work for and your boss matters, right?
41:37I mean, that's, you know, a life thing no matter what you do for a living.
41:41Woody Johnson's the worst.
41:42You might be able to forget about that if you keep seeing the Jets perform on offense and you see
41:48key players on defense.
41:49You might say they're not that far away, especially with that kind of draft capital.
41:53But my goodness, I can't look at Aaron Glenn anymore.
41:57I can't watch an Aaron Glenn coach team.
42:00He is completely clueless.
42:02In-game is terrible.
42:04Post-game is terrible.
42:05The feel is terrible.
42:07Frank Reich is terrible.
42:09The way he handles the red zone is terrible.
42:12The disparity in terms of points scored at the end of the first half is terrible.
42:17The inability to beat the AFC East, he's never done it before, it's terrible.
42:22To lose at home in back-to-back weeks to the Dolphins and the Raiders, terrible.
42:27He's supposed to be a defensive guru.
42:29The defense can't make a stop, terrible.
42:32Aaron Glenn, in a word, terrible.
42:36Good news, Bucs fans.
42:37Your team won.
42:38Bad news.
42:38If you watch that game, there's no way on earth you're going to get those hours back after you watch
42:42Baker Mayfield.
42:44Not complete a pass.
42:48You know, if I'm not going to throw the ball, I've got to get active somehow.
42:51So, me and Jesse were out there playing in the mud.
42:54Yeah, he was in the mud puddle over there.
42:56He's a great blocker.
42:56He took Bates all the way to the, he almost took him back to his locker room.
43:00Yeah, but it was like a puddle over there.
43:03I thought someone was going to drown.
43:04But Bake, yeah, he throws some great blocks too.
43:06I mean, just guys get out in space and he's running down the field and Bucky makes a guy miss
43:13and Bake throws a block.
43:14I mean, that's just testament to the selflessness that we have on this team.
43:20Listen, 16-0 was the final.
43:22And I've never seen anything like that.
43:25Baker Mayfield literally did not complete a pass.
43:28Did not.
43:29Zero.
43:29Zero completions for Baker Mayfield.
43:32Frankly, it's even uglier for the Atlanta Falcons.
43:35I mean, they lost to a quarterback who didn't complete a pass.
43:40Michael Penix Jr.
43:41I mean, I spent how many hours here on Shine Time saying I feel like he's the answer for the
43:46Atlanta Falcons.
43:47And he just threw up all over himself.
43:50Had four interceptions in the game.
43:52What a disgrace.
43:54If you watched that game, if you were at that game, my deepest condolences.
43:59I feel terrible for you.
44:00That felt like one of the worst sporting events you'll ever see.
44:04Great job by the Bucs.
44:06They're able to win.
44:07They run to victory.
44:08Defense played great.
44:09But my goodness, that is.
44:12There's nothing in the oven.
44:13Literally.
44:14Zero.
44:15Baker Mayfield didn't complete the forward pass.
44:18Not one pass.
44:20And they won.
44:24The Colts got rocked.
44:25Honestly, who cares who's going to play quarterback for them the rest of the way?
44:29Anthony Richardson?
44:30Daniel Jones?
44:31What are we even?
44:32That's not Montana v. Young.
44:33What are we even talking about here?
44:34All eyes now are on their superstar running back, Jonathan Taylor.
44:38It means a lot.
44:39This is where I've grown up.
44:41You know, this is where I've grown up.
44:43But originally going to school in Wisconsin, you know, you become like a young man there.
44:48You know, you get into your 20s a little bit.
44:50But then from here on out, now I'm 27.
44:52It's just a place where you've grown.
44:55You've evolved.
44:56And it just sucks that, you know, this year, too, that we haven't been putting on the performances
45:02that, you know, the city of Indianapolis deserves.
45:06Yeah, and that was pretty brutal.
45:08The Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely beat the hell out of the Indianapolis Colts.
45:13There was never a reason, we've talked about this at length on Shine Time, for the Colts
45:17to keep Jonathan Taylor.
45:19They've got to trade him now.
45:20And it's interesting, over the weekend, our friend Adam Schefter, our friend Ian Rappaport,
45:24they said that now the Colts are open to listening.
45:28And I'm not surprised by that.
45:29We've talked about it.
45:30They have to trade him.
45:31There are two schools of thoughts on the compensation.
45:35Number one, first-round pick.
45:38I think Minnesota could, would, should give up a first-round pick for Jonathan Taylor.
45:44Schefter reported that the Colts are looking for the Christian McCaffrey package, which
45:49was a 2-3-4-5.
45:51And I think the Giants should absolutely make that trade.
45:55We've talked about this, okay?
45:56I think the Vikings and the Giants, and we talked about it last week, they're the two
46:01teams that should be all over the Colts for Jonathan Taylor.
46:05I also think Green Bay should be in the mix.
46:08You know, I think it's a much lesser scale, but I think that the Seahawks will be in the
46:14conversation.
46:15The Bengals will be in the conversation.
46:17But if I'm the Giants, and we talked about it earlier in the show, they're one of the
46:22big winners in week number eight.
46:24You know, I see what happened with the Cowboys, and it's all there for the Giants.
46:28Would I give up multiple draft picks, a couple of twos, a 2-3-4 for Jonathan Taylor in a
46:35heartbeat?
46:36I wouldn't even think twice about that.
46:38Jonathan Taylor has had a Hall of Fame career.
46:40He's still got, I believe, four more years to run like he has during this decorated running
46:47back career that we've seen with the Indianapolis Colts.
46:50I think Jonathan Taylor is perfect for the Giants, perfect for the Minnesota Vikings, and
46:56I think they need one of these teams to get him now.
46:59I mean, trade deadline's a week from Tuesday, but you want to kind of get these guys in
47:04your house, log more games for you to win this year sooner than later.
47:08That's why you see, you know, the Bears trade for Simmons before week eight.
47:12You see the Seahawks trade for Nelson.
47:14You see the Niners trade for Buckner.
47:16Do it early.
47:18You want more games.
47:19Justify the trade.
47:20Justify the compensation.
47:21Justify the contracts you're going to pay him.
47:23So, I mean, Taylor was wondering aloud about the culture in Indianapolis.
47:28I mean, they don't have a real GM.
47:30They fired Chris Ballard.
47:32I really think that it's over for Jonathan Taylor, and the Giants and Vikings remain,
47:38I've been very consistent on this, the best two fits for JT.
47:43But wait, there's more.
48:00How about it?
48:02USC, got to give them credit.
48:04We talked about this at length on Shine Time on Friday, that this was a massive game for
48:10both USC and for Ohio State.
48:13And we went through the how and the why if Lincoln, Riley, and company were going to get a win.
48:19First of all, game ball if you're USC goes to Ryan Day.
48:23He screwed this whole thing up, and that was the first guess here on Shine Time.
48:26The fact that Ryan Day messed around and found out by not naming a quarterback during the week,
48:31which Julian Sane done for the year, you know, just let Luke Fay have some confidence.
48:35He's not pressing.
48:37USC might have been struggling all year.
48:39It's still going on the road.
48:41Coliseum, Saturday Night Football, NBC, big game, first game as a starter.
48:47You have to ease the pressure if you're Ryan Day, who called a terrible game.
48:51The whole thing is just terrible, right?
48:53I know Arthur Smith calls the plays.
48:55Still Ryan Day in charge.
48:56The way he did not give Fahey any kind of confidence in the week leading up, disgrace.
49:02Lincoln Riley's team came to play.
49:04Listen, kind of what we expected from USC all year.
49:08Defense was flying around, quarterbacks making plays, the young receivers were getting it done.
49:14That's the point when it comes to USC football.
49:18They have talent.
49:19The issue is whether or not they have a coach.
49:22So I think Lincoln Riley campaigning for his job.
49:26Look, that was rich at the end of that football game.
49:30That press conference was wild.
49:32I want Lincoln Riley to be successful.
49:34He needed that win.
49:36If Fahey walked in to USC and won that game and that defense got shredded,
49:43I don't even know if Lincoln Riley would have lasted to today's shine time.
49:46Let's be crystal clear about that.
49:47So I give Lincoln Riley a ton of credit,
49:50but he is not remotely out of the woods in any way, shape, or form.
49:54It does go to show, again, how incredible this season's been in college football.
49:59So Ohio State, we said they were toast when saying got hurt.
50:03Because I don't think Ryan Day has any idea what the hell he's doing.
50:05So it's just a topsy-turvy, amazing season in college football.
50:10The whole day was incredible on Saturday.
50:12That game was wild.
50:14I watched every single second.
50:16And how about the crazy Indiana finish?
50:18I mean, back-to-back 60-yard field goals with Indiana and Minnesota.
50:24That was wild.
50:26That was crazy.
50:27That was incredible.
50:28And honestly, the whole thing was just nuts.
50:31And then you see Becker making catches.
50:33I mean, it's the backup quarterback.
50:36I thought Cignetti completely botched the clock at the end.
50:39And somehow Indiana found a way to win.
50:42Listen, I don't think Indiana's going anywhere.
50:45I don't think they have the quarterback.
50:47When I say anywhere, they'll make the college football playoffs.
50:49I do not think they have a run in them.
50:51Let me be crystal clear on that.
50:53I do not trust this quarterback, the offense at all.
50:58Becker's out of this world.
50:59He is just absolutely terrific.
51:01He's a great college player.
51:03He's going to be a terrific pro.
51:05Indiana survives.
51:06But I don't leave that game feeling any different here about Indiana football.
51:11That's the show.
51:12If you miss any portion of the show, do what I do.
