Opposition Members of Parliament led by Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra boarded buses to march towards Jantar Mantar and the Election Commission in Delhi. The demonstration follows high drama over demands concerning the Election Commission, including the ouster of the Chief Election Commissioner and conducting polls via ballot paper. Delhi Police deployed riot personnel and barricaded Janpath, citing a mandatory 10-day prior permission advisory for protests at Jantar Mantar. Tension remains high as police block the march following previous detentions.

00:00Alright, cutting across to some live updates.
00:02Like we said, that protest has just started.
00:04Those MPs, the opposition MPs, 300 of them, as claimed by Rahul Gandhi, are on board that bus.
00:09Let's take you straight to the visuals that are coming in now.
00:11We are now told that high drama is unfolding in the National Capital over the CEC's Outster.
00:16Rahul Gandhi is leading the opposition MPs towards Jantar Mantar.
00:19We are told that Delhi Police has issued protest advisory.
00:24What is Delhi Police saying?
00:25They are saying that a 10-day prior permission mandatory for Jantar Mantar demonstration.
00:30In the meanwhile, since that was denied to them, in fact, it was not just denied to Rahul Gandhi and
00:35the Congress Party,
00:36but it was relayed to several other groups as well, including ISA and several other student organizations that happened over
00:41the weekend as well.
00:42Now, at the moment, as we speak, you see two windows over there.
00:46One of very heavy police deployment at Janpat to basically stop them from going all the way to Jantar Mantar
00:55to sit in at the protest and have all the MPs get together.
00:59There is also riot police, Delhi Police personnel, which have been deployed.
01:02And on the other hand, you have this truck full of MPs who are saying that we will go there
01:07nonetheless.
01:07So, where exactly has this truck reached, this bus reached and what exactly lies ahead?
01:12Let's cut across to our reporter Rahul Gautam joining us with the very latest update.
01:16Rahul, dosas have been taken in, sambar and idli is on, but the tadka of protest is yet to begin.
01:30Would that be fair to say?
01:32What exactly is the bandu bus?
01:34How far will they be allowed to go?
01:41Well, tadka is yet to come, but it seems that Dal is almost ready.
01:45I'll just show you via visuals of what I'm trying to tell you that there are three buses
01:51which are completely filled with members of parliament.
01:56And then this one, the bus that you are seeing right now on your screens is actually the one
02:00which is carrying Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vatra and Malika Arjun Karge.
02:05And they are going towards Jantar Mantar.
02:08If not Jantar Mantar, then they'll try to go to election commission of India.
02:13Now, as we all know that yesterday also, when he tried to march towards election commission of India,
02:19the entire opposition bloc MPs, they were prevented from reaching election commission.
02:25They were detained.
02:26Initially, there was a dharna of seven hours and later on, they were forcefully evicted from Akash Mahdi Bhavan
02:33and then taken away to Kingsway camp.
02:34So, clearly, as far as Congress party is concerned or opposition is concerned,
02:40they are pretty convinced that all is not well as far as election commission is concerned.
02:45And primarily, they are pressing for three demands.
02:47A, Mr. Gyanesh Kumar should go.
02:49B, immediate suspension of ongoing SIR exercise.
02:52And three, from going forward, election should be conducted via ballot paper.
02:57Now, you can see now, very nearby to us, Priyanka Gandhi Vatra on your screens.
03:04Then there is Rahul Gandhi sitting next to Malik Arjun Kharge.
03:07Then there is Leruka Chaudhuri, Raja Amrinder Wadding, Imran Pratapgadi, Pawan Kheda,
03:15K.C. Benu Gopal, all senior leaders of Congress party.
03:17In fact, this bus also has Mr. Derek O'Brien, who is a TMC MP.
03:21So, clearly, the entire opposition bloc is on street.
03:25They are on warpath.
03:26And they have made it very clear.
03:27This is day two, remember, Sonal.
03:30And it seems that this fight is far from being over.
03:34And the opposition is only shifting the gear.
03:37Initially, it was in Parliament.
03:39The arena was in Parliament.
03:41Both the houses of Parliament, Raja Sabha, Lok Sabha.
03:43But now, they are taking it to the very streets of the national capital.
03:47You see there, NSUI workers, youth Congress workers.
03:50All right, but the question is going to be, Rahul, on how far they actually managed to go.
03:54We seem to be losing that signal with Rahul, a little bit of a child connect.
03:58A lot of times, what happens is, jammers are in place because, you know,
04:01there are so many protests that are being organized.
04:03So, we'll try and see if we can get to a better location and bring you more visuals.
