00:01Paul, an excellent second half comeback to come from 2-0 behind and get a 2-2 draw against a
00:05strong full-time Truro side.
00:07Thoughts on that?
00:09Yeah, credit to the boys for getting back into it. It was a tough night.
00:14They were by far the best team that we faced.
00:18First half, it was tough. They were all in sync with each other and they were all over us like
00:23a rash.
00:24They were a full-time operation who had come down and heavily fancied to be there or thereabouts to go
00:29back up.
00:30In that first half, they were 2-0 up and they were impressive, weren't they? They were difficult.
00:35They were just impressive. They were all in sync, winning the ball back, front foot.
00:40I don't think they really caused us too much of an issue.
00:43I think Michael's made one save and then the two goals.
00:47A header and a flick from two crosses.
00:49But yeah, barring the goal for it, I don't think they were as much of a threat.
00:53They were just so impressive of not letting us out and being all over us.
00:57Yeah, they weren't carving you open or anything, but just that full-time nature of it.
01:03You're usually very much pressier on it and they didn't let you do that really in the first half, did
01:07they?
01:07No, maybe a little bit. We had to change shape a little bit.
01:12Obviously, no Daz tonight and I think it's the first time since I've been here that we've actually missed a
01:17player tonight with the impact that he's had.
01:22And then Bob arriving late, so I had to change it, which wasn't ideal.
01:25And we had to change formation going to like a flat three and it didn't really pay off.
01:30And then second half, when we could change it into what we're accustomed to, we really turned it on second
01:35half.
01:36And what was the message at half-time? Obviously, you had to regroup and then obviously kick on in that
01:41second half, which you did.
01:42Yeah, I think the boys had a few words between themselves and it's just one of them.
01:45Just had to reset, understand what they're good at and not to play into their hands and what we're good
01:51at.
01:51And, you know, we couldn't compete with them physically, so we had to find a different way to go about
01:56business.
01:57And yeah, I thought the subs were excellent tonight and they changed the flat again.
02:01You kind of almost said the words out of my mouth then. I was going to say the double change,
02:04Bob and Trey really, really did change the game, didn't they, when they came on?
02:07It did, yeah. It allowed us to go back into, you know, what we're accustomed to, into the box.
02:12And I think everyone felt comfortable and, you know, Bob looked fresh and had a spring in his step and
02:17Trey was a handful in behind,
02:19which stretched the game, which gave the two tens plenty of room to play in.
02:23And then, yeah, Bob obviously instantly, you know, was a great, great assist for Rax to finish off to get
02:28the first one, wasn't it?
02:29Yeah, it was a good goal. It was a real good goal. Rax deserved that goal tonight, you know, especially
02:34second half,
02:34some of his touches, his link-up playing, his willingness to run back and help his teammates out.
02:40Yeah, he really deserved that.
02:41And then the second one was a nice move, you know, Bob fizzing it to Brandon down the left
02:44and again flashes it across for Trey to finish off.
02:48Yeah, sort of, you know, sort of trademarked sort of our goals that we scored tonight with them on the
02:54front foot,
02:54down the outside, balled in, getting an overload. Yeah, Trey was, you know, a big impact in that.
03:02Got to 2-2 and it felt if one side was going to win it, it could have been you.
03:06You know, Bill's forced a decent save and then Bob's one forced an excellent save, sort of quite near the
03:09end.
03:10Yeah, he was on the front foot, you know, one of them, the save the keeper's made is an unbelievable
03:16save, great hand.
03:17Just waiting for that to go in and Miles has had to come on and had a good chance, just
03:22snatched it,
03:23maybe a bit too early after coming on.
03:25Yeah, I thought he was going to win it, but, you know, you miss those chances
03:28and then you start to look at the other end and thinking, is there one more?
03:32Well, especially with their throw, you know, it's an unbelievable weapon.
03:36And the referee was just letting him take it wherever he wanted to take it from.
03:40Injuries have been an issue, Sam Hutch has had to come off, Jack Spawn just had to come off obviously
03:45too early,
03:45I guess really to know, but obviously sort of a bit of a pattern this season, isn't it?
03:49Yeah, we're in desperate need now, you know, you look tonight, we only had four outfield players on the bench,
03:55so we couldn't even name a full bench. And we lost Sam now, it looks like it's going to be
04:00a couple of weeks,
04:01you know, he's felt his hamstring, he's felt something in there, so we won't see him, I don't think, for
04:06a few weeks.
04:07And then Spawn, we're not too sure, and he rolled his ankle, hopefully nothing too serious,
04:12and yeah, I'm not sure where we're going to go at the moment.
04:16Curse of the injury, isn't it?
04:17Yeah, the defenders have been a nightmare for us.
04:20You know, with Hutch tonight, I think that's six now, sitting on the sidelines, so, yeah.
04:27Yeah, it's more than a back four, it's a back four and a half, isn't it?
04:29Yeah, it's madness. Yeah, not come across yet, all in one area of the pitch.
04:34So, when should we go away from here tonight, speak with Harry and Frankie,
04:39and see if there's anything that we can do?
04:41But, yeah, a lot of these boys are tied up in contracts, and money's money.
04:46And it's also, you know, you've also acted today, you know, to get Conrad in,
04:49because obviously Aaron's out for a little bit, isn't he?
04:51Yeah, we lost Ez during the week as well with hamstring.
04:55That's going to be a month.
04:56So, yeah, no-one's returning any time soon.
04:59But, yeah, Conrad obviously did come off the bench for his debut.
05:01Obviously, a 28-day loan from Watford.
05:03Obviously, very much needed in that position, isn't it?
05:05But, yeah.
05:06It was, yeah.
05:07You know, whether Watford or not, he's a young lad, and he's come on in a situation,
05:12you know, you don't really want to be thrown on as a defender,
05:14and I thought he equipped himself really well.
05:16Mm.
05:17First time we've spoken since Aaron Dean's move to Yeovil was announced on Saturday.
05:21Obviously, you know, he was the last player here from when you joined,
05:24and obviously, you know, sort of gone from a boy to a man,
05:26and been a talisman, you know, in all the promotions.
05:30Just a word on, you know, on that spell sort of with him.
05:32Yeah, he's, you know, he's the only one that stayed when we took over,
05:36and he's come with us along the way, and he's played a massive part
05:39to get the club where he is today.
05:41And fully deserved his move into full-time football.
05:45And hopefully, you know, it's a start of good things for him,
05:47and we can watch him on the TV and watch him climb the pyramids.
05:50Mm.
05:51And point tonight, obviously, makes it six-unbeat in the league,
05:53and you've actually gone in the playoffs.
05:54Obviously, a long way to go, but it's all exciting to look forward to, isn't it?
05:57It is, yeah.
05:58It's a great start.
05:59You know, I think we've now faced the three best teams in the league
06:02in terms of Dagenham, Toolkey, and Churro, and, you know,
06:05there's a win, draw, and defeat in there, but all real positive performances.
06:09So, we'll take that away and build on what's a good start.
06:13Yeah, and the moment of the second half,
06:15obviously, roll with that on Saturday against Salisbury.
06:17Yeah, another tough test.
06:18You know, they're riding a good wave.
06:20They've hit a bit of thong.
06:21So, hopefully, we'll have Daz back in the squad,
06:24and, yeah, we'll see what we can do.
06:26We'll see.
06:26Okay.
06:26.
