00:00Great to see the Raiders back on top again, and it's great to see the Raiders figuring it out again
00:05and seeing that the Raiders now are in a good direction right now.
00:08It's got to be really good for you to see this team where it is.
00:12Well, I am, first and foremost, so happy for the fans of the team.
00:17As you know, Syl, I don't know whether it's okay to call you Sylio on your show or Syl or
00:24Big Syl,
00:25but as you know from our years together, I cherish our fans, and I am, it's just so, it makes
00:33me happy to see them so happy.
00:36How about this, Amy?
00:37Do you think all the relocation, now that they're settled in Vegas, now possibly that that is going to be
00:44something for the fans?
00:45Because as you mentioned, there was nothing like the black hole at the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum,
00:51and I've always got to dub it that way because it was truly one of the great areas.
00:55You know, you have Dog Pound in Cleveland, but that was so awesome.
00:58Maybe now this settles it down for a while, and now they can really rally around the team.
01:03I hope so.
01:04When the team opted to move to Las Vegas, I said at the time,
01:08you are going to always get a lot of fans of the visiting team there.
01:14And that's not a reflection on fans not loving the Raiders, because Raider fans are still there in force.
01:20But if you're a fan of a team that is visiting the Raiders, and you can only go to one
01:29road game to watch your team a year,
01:32so they have games around the country, and you can only go to one.
01:35Well, look, we all saw that movie Vegas Vacation with Chevy Chase.
01:39Viva Las Vegas.
01:41I mean, Vegas, baby.
01:42So I do think you're always, and look, I said it at the time, you are going to get fans
01:48of the visiting team there more than other venues will,
01:51because, again, people want to go to Las Vegas.
01:54But that said, there are Raider fans there.
01:56They are just magnificent, magnificent fans.
02:01And I think you're right, Cilio.
02:02They're going to keep getting louder and prouder.
02:05How about this, too, Amy?
02:07You know, one of the great things that Al did with you was making sure that the general manager, the
02:12head coach, was always synced up.
02:14Now you've got John Spitek, and now you've got Clint Kubiak.
02:18And, you know, one of the things I remember talking with Al and you about was, hey, getting that general
02:24manager right,
02:25getting the personnel decisions right, getting the head coach right.
02:27This is maybe the first time we're seeing this in a little bit where that's being synced up, right,
02:33where you have the good front office now, and it's starting to trickle down,
02:36and that's why you're seeing some of the results the early part of the season here.
02:40Well, you know, I think you're right.
02:42I hope you're right.
02:43And maybe I'll say that in reverse order.
02:44I hope you're right, but I think you're right.
02:46And it's never, ever, ever, ever made sense to me, Dan,
02:50that people in the same organization don't sit in the same boat and pull their oars in the same direction.
02:56When you work for a business, whether it's a sports team or any business,
03:01your obligation, your responsibility is to work with others with the same goal in mind
03:07and pull your oars in the same direction.
03:09And what it strikes me that Clint is doing is he is getting people to pull their oars in the
03:16same direction,
03:16and he's doing it on the field and off the field.
03:20And that's not in any way intended as a slight against Spitek.
03:25He's doing that as well.
03:27They're doing it together as they should.
03:30I don't know that Spitek had the opportunity to do that last year,
03:33but absolutely it appears that Clint understands that people need to pull their oars in the same direction,
03:39and he's getting them to pull their oars in the same direction.
03:42you're going to have to take a look at the same direction.
03:43you're going to have to take a look at the same direction.
