A case has been registered by the Shivaji Park Police Station in Mumbai against organisers and 400 to 500 supporters of the CJP following an unauthorised protest on October 2. The case was filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections covering unlawful assembly and disobedience of orders promulgated by a public servant. Demonstrators gathered outside the barricaded park demanding the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner. Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission has sought an investigation into the role and presence of minors at the site, setting a one-week deadline for a report. CJP has additionally called for further protests at Jantar Mantar amid ongoing clashes.

00:07has now been registered against the organisers of the CJP protest at the Shivaji Park in Mumbai that took place
00:15only yesterday, that is October 2nd, where the case has been filed under relevant sections against the organisers and the
00:22400 to 500 other protesters who had gathered.
00:26Remember, they could not access the park directly because that was completely shut and barricaded by the police authorities, given
00:33that there was no permission that was granted for the protest in the first place.
00:37So the protesters gathered in hundreds outside the park instead and continued with their protest, with the CJP being present
00:46themselves, the leaders of the CJP leading from the front at the very protest.
00:53In fact, they've also issued another call for a Jantar Mantar protest on October 10th, continuing to demand the ouster
01:01of the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, that is in the heart of this very row in terms of demands
01:08that have been put forward by the CJP on the current SIR row that is underway.
01:13Of course, another aspect or rather another chapter of this protest had also unfolded in Jantar Mantar yesterday and continues
01:21to unfold as part of the day two of those very protests today afternoon, as the call had been given
01:30for 1pm for the protesters to gather.
01:33We've already seen a clash with AISA members at the very protest site, but the lens is on the CJP.
01:41On one hand, there is the NHRC, that is the human rights body that's also scrutinized their protest yesterday,
01:49wherein they've called on to investigate the involvement and role of minors who might have been present at the protest
01:56site and used as a shield by the protesters,
01:59as well as the protest plan that was put up by the CJP.

02:14What are you learning about all of these protests that had taken place, of course, yesterday in Mumbai,
02:21and now in the aftermath, the investigation, the charges that the CJP face?
02:28Well, the Shivaji Park police station in Mumbai has registered this offense under sections 189 and 223 of BNS, Bharti
02:40N.S. Rahita.
02:41This is for disobedience of a lawful order, duly promulgated by a public servant and unlawful assembly.
02:50The case has been registered against CJP's protest organizers and 400 to 500 CJP supporters and educators who had gathered
03:01at Shivaji Park yesterday evening.
03:05And there was no permission granted for this assembly.
03:08There was no permission granted by the police, by the administration.
03:13But despite that, this protest was organized and it was an unlawful protest.
03:18That is why a case has been registered, which is crime number 515-26 at the Shivaji Park police station
03:27in Mumbai.
03:28Let me again reiterate, it's registered against CJP protest organizers and unknown 400 to 500 CJP supporters and educators.
