Speaking at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai, representatives of the Cockroach Janata Party questioned the heavy security deployment and restrictions imposed ahead of their planned Jantar Mantar 2.0 demonstration in Delhi. The speakers alleged that security forces from Jammu and Kashmir and Naxal-affected areas were brought in, alongside transport disruptions affecting metro and railway routes, to prevent demonstrators from reaching the national capital. Emphasising that Article 19 of the Constitution guarantees the democratic right to peaceful protest, they argued that while demonstrations were permitted in cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru, arbitrary curbs were being enforced in Delhi. The leaders asserted that their agitation centres on allegations that the Election Commission is functioning in coordination with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to shield Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Furthermore, they criticised the Delhi Police for refusing to engage with organizers after receiving prior formal intimation, accusing the authorities of attempting to suppress democratic dissent across the country.

00:00We at the India Today conclave, our conclave is taking place in Mumbai, had all diverse voices on one platform.
00:08There is a reason that, be it all voices of all ideology, as diverse as they can, they culminate on
00:15one platform and that is the India Today group.
00:17Earlier this morning, we had the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, and later we also had the CJP,
00:28all three, where you had Abhijit Dipke, Swarabdas, Ashutosh Ranka, who now hope to script a Jantar Mantar 2.0
00:37in Delhi, where it's been completely fortified, were with us at the India Today conclave.
00:41Listen in to them.
00:47Thank you very much.
01:17Article 19 gives us the right to protest, and Jantar Mantar is a designated protest site.
01:24If we can't protest in Mumbai, if we can't protest in Bangalore, then we can't protest in Delhi, why can't
01:29we do it in Delhi?
01:30Is Delhi any other constitution underage? Mumbai police has been completely corporate, Bangalore has been completely corporate, Delhi has been
01:37completely corporate, Delhi has been a constitution, Delhi has been a law.
01:47It is a democratic right.
01:49It is a democratic right.
01:50It is a democratic right.
02:38It is a democratic right to protest.
02:40Yes, BJP and the Election Commission are working together.
02:42And this is what we all have to do.
02:45I would like to clarify that I didn't ask permission to ask me.
02:50I had to give information, give information in a formal way.
02:54When we announced that there was a policy that they would monitor what the situation is in the country
03:01and in Delhi, Delhi police would do it.
03:03So, they already had information about what is going to happen.
03:05I went to the same time, then I had to give information.
03:08I had to give information, but we have asserted that the Constitution allows us the right to protest.
03:16But the police was very bad.
03:20They did not say anything.
03:22They didn't say anything.
03:23They didn't say anything.
03:24They didn't say anything.
03:24They acknowledged the letter and put a stamp and gave us.
03:28None of the senior officers of Delhi police met me.
03:31Because last time, they had met us with five rounds of senior officers.
03:43And this is a new tactic that they have adopted.
03:46What is the tactic, you think?
03:48The tactic is to not allow any democratic dissent in the country.
03:53Delhi also, the last time, there were peaceful protests.
03:56It happened for such a long time.
03:58And this time, they want to leave the country on the road.
04:14And this is the tactic that we will fully cooperate with them in the expectation that the police would also
04:19cooperate with us.
04:20Because the police is not, they are not the ones who will give permission whether to protest against the government
04:27or not.
04:28It is a strange and absurd concept that, you think, Gandhi Ji, when we leave the country, we will leave
04:35the Britishers to go and say,
04:37You have 2 hours of time, I will leave the country to march.
04:40Is this how the country will function?
04:58All right, so this was the Kokoro Janata Party, the three key members of the party speaking on the India
05:05Today Mumbai conclave.
05:06And now, you have to go and say,
