00:01Brothers, it is with a heavy heart that I am recording this video.
00:04You probably already know what happened.
00:06The helicopter was found in the Santa Catarina mountains,
00:09and the 5 crew members, the 5 people who were on board, unfortunately passed away.
00:14Among them, the businessman Bruno Avila,
00:17the singer Rick from the duo Rick and Renner,
00:20and 3 other people, the videographer, the pilot and the co-pilot.
00:25And I want to extend my heartfelt condolences here to all the families and close friends.
00:30I personally knew Bruno Avila, and I can say that he was a dreamer,
00:35a man full of dreams and plans, who unfortunately lost his life.
00:40In his 40s, still very young, he had just gotten married, he left a message for his son.
00:47And all of this makes us question one thing, you know?
00:49Is there a set time for us to leave this earth?
00:53Can we somehow extend our lives, or cut them short?
00:57I read a lot of comments from people talking about this,
01:00saying that the time had come, and when your time comes, there's no running away.
01:05When God calls, we just have to go.
01:07Brothers, someone even said this,
01:10Maybe it's not your time to go.
01:12But what if, it's the pilot's time to go?
01:15Then you have no choice, right?
01:17And it's because of so many questions like this that I felt in my heart to bring teaching from the
01:23Bible
01:23to show you whether or not there is a set time to depart, okay?
01:27I know that many of you are deeply moved by this story right now.
01:30And I think it's important for us to reflect on our own story.
01:37Because, one day, we will also depart.
01:41Sooner or later, all of us will have to stand before God.
01:45But first of all, I just want to comment a bit here, reading an article for you,
01:48especially if you don't know the details, and take a look at what this newspaper says.
01:53The helicopter carrying singer Rick from the duo Rick and Renner and businessman Bruno Avelar
01:59was found destroyed in the Serra Catarinese.
02:02Sadly, no one survived.
02:04The aircraft had disappeared on Monday afternoon, the 20th,
02:09after taking off from Porto Belo on the coast of Santa Catarina bound for San Joaquim.
02:14And on board were five people.
02:16Rick, 59 years old, businessman Bruno Avelar, videographer Paulo Soares,
02:21along with the pilot and the co-pilot.
02:24Rick was a country singer and songwriter who became famous across Brazil alongside Rene,
02:30forming one of the most remarkable duos in Brazilian country music.
02:34And Bruno Avelar was 40 years old and was a businessman, writer, speaker and networking mentor.
02:42And there's a detail that catches attention.
02:45This wasn't a trip for a Rick and Renner concert.
02:48Rick and Bruno were traveling to the San Joaquim region
02:51to check out a potential investment opportunity.
02:54Rene, therefore, was not in that helicopter.
02:57During the flight, the aircraft lost contact.
03:00And from then on, a major search operation began, involving the fire department and the Brazilian Air Force.
03:07Conditions in the Serra Catarinense were very difficult.
03:09There was rain, fog, low visibility and areas of dense forest.
03:15The firefighters even worked from two different points.
03:18One related to the aircraft's last communication and the other to the last cell phone signal from one of the
03:24occupants.
03:25The search continued through the night until this morning when the wreckage was finally located in an area of the
03:32forest that was extremely difficult to access.
03:37Brothers, this is when that question comes up, right?
03:40Was it their time?
03:41After all, it was all so sudden.
03:43So stay with me until the end, because I hope to clear up this doubt in your heart.
03:49Pay attention to what the Bible says.
03:52Let's begin.
03:52As I told you, when someone dies suddenly, whether from a tragic accident or an illness that appeared out of
03:59nowhere, almost everyone says the same thing.
04:02So and so's time has come.
04:04It was his time.
04:06God already knows all things, isn't that right?
04:09God had already said that day, that hour, and there's no escaping it.
04:14And regarding that, I even want to talk about this case that happened today, which left everyone shaken.
04:19I'm going to share my opinion with great respect at the end here, okay?
04:22But first of all, I want you to believe something that I'm going to tell you here.
04:28Imagine that two young men grew up in the same labor hood.
04:32They had the same opportunities.
04:34Only the first young man, he decided to live responsibly.
04:37He wakes up early for work, he takes care of his health, he doesn't get into trouble, he listens to
04:44his parents' advice, and most importantly, he seeks God.
04:48Now, let's suppose the other young man, he takes a completely different path.
04:52He drinks too much, he does drugs, he street races cars, he hangs out with dangerous people, people involved in
05:00crime.
05:01Then, then imagine that this second young man dies, at 25 years old.
05:07Very young, right?
05:08Except he died when his car crashed into a pole in a tragic way.
05:13All because he had stopped by the bar earlier and drank too much.
05:17Can we really say that God set the exact time for him to die?
05:21Brother, if we truly believe that, it's as if God were responsible for his drinking, for the high speed of
05:28his car, for the crash into the pole.
05:30And that doesn't align at all with what the Bible teaches.
05:33Let me give you an example here.
05:35The Bible teaches there in Galatians chapter 6, verse 7, the following.
05:39Pay attention.
05:40Do not be deceived.
05:42God is not mocked.
05:44For whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
05:48Look how simple this is, brothers.
05:50Our choices bring real consequences.
05:54And whoever chooses to act prudently will certainly avoid many dangers.
05:59Many traps.
06:01Many wrong things.
06:02But whoever lives irresponsibly ends up putting their own life at risk all the time.
06:08And that's why the Bible is saying here, whatever a man sows, whatever he plants, that he will reap.
06:15If you sow bad things, if you walk down the wrong paths, you are closer to cutting your life short.
06:23In fact, the Bible says there are ways that seem right to a man, but in the end, they lead
06:29to death.
06:31And look at another verse.
06:32See how interesting this is.
06:34There in Proverbs chapter 3, verses 7 and 8, it says,
06:47Look how interesting this is, brothers.
06:49It's saying here that if you fear God, have respect for the things of God, and stay away from everything
06:56that is evil, it will be good for your health.
06:59And when a person takes care of their health, avoids addictions, doesn't look for fights, drives carefully, they greatly reduce
07:08the chances of dying through reckless behavior, you know?
07:11But if they do the opposite and live very carelessly, the risks of dying increase greatly.
07:19And I'm also talking about your habits when eating, when drinking.
07:24These eating habits can prolong or they can hasten your departure.
07:29And here lies a very serious lesson for us, brothers.
07:33Yes, it is indeed possible for a person to die before their time.
07:37I'll tell you that the one who said this was King Solomon, the wisest man in all of human history.
07:44He once made an observation there in Ecclesiastes chapter 7, verse 17.
07:49He said,
07:50Do not be overly wicked.
07:52Do not be foolish.
07:53Why should you die before your time?
07:57Look how interesting.
07:59Here Solomon is saying that, yes, we can die before our time, but that this is foolishness.
08:04It means acting wrongly, because in truth, God wants you to have a long life here on earth.
08:11And I know that right now you might be wondering, but pastor, what about the little children who die very
08:17young?
08:18And what about good people who end up dying very young?
08:21I will explain that in a moment.
08:23But you must remember that there is a commandment in the Bible that says that if you honor your father
08:29and mother, your days will be prolonged on this earth.
08:33That is, when you obey the advice of your father and mother, you are avoiding many bad things and your
08:39days can be prolonged.
08:41But then comes that question, right?
08:42And what about when a person is obedient, does everything right, and ends up dying as a teenager, as a
08:49child, and many babies die?
08:52Brothers, this is an answer that you can only understand when you look at the Bible and understand that sin
08:58entered the world, and sin caused death, physical death and spiritual death.
09:04That is why this world is so disordered, disorganized.
09:08That is why there are so many tragedies, so many deaths, violence, so many sins.
09:13And so, after Adam and Eve sinned, death began to reign in this world.
09:19But the Bible assures us that Jesus, he conquered death.
09:23And one day, there will definitively be no more death when we are in the kingdom with Jesus. Amen?
09:29And there, in eternity with him, there will be no more weeping, no more tears, no more mourning.
09:35Because the old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.
09:40But there's another detail that I want you to learn, which is the following.
09:43The fact that we prolong or cut our lives short, doesn't mean that God is not in control of our
09:51existence.
09:52It's very important for you to know that.
09:53In fact, the Bible shows that when Job was suffering greatly, he made a very interesting statement that I want
10:00to read to you.
10:01Look at what he said in Job 14, verse 5.
10:06Since his days are determined, the number of his months is with you, you have set limits for him, and
10:13he will not pass beyond them.
10:16Look how interesting.
10:18Here we see that Job says, our days are determined by God, and even our months, and there is no
10:24way for you to pass beyond those months.
10:27And here, then, is a very simple explanation, brothers.
10:30God is in control of everything.
10:32He already knows the exact day of our death, and nothing takes God by surprise.
10:37So, God is sovereign, he is in control of everything, and even there in Psalm 139, King David said that
10:46all our days were already known by God, before the first day had even begun.
10:51So, it's very important for you to know that God knows every single one of our days, God has authority
10:57over our lives, but that never meant that we can just live any which way, thinking that our choices won't
11:04change anything.
11:05Because the date of death would already be fixed by God, right?
11:08That's what people believe, but it's not true, that the date of our death would already be fixed by God.
11:14Brothers, we cannot test the Lord, remember that?
11:18When Jesus was confronted by Satan, to jump from that mountain, so that the angels would catch him, and he
11:24said, do not test God, no one can test the Lord.
11:28And now I want to talk about something else that almost no one talks about.
11:33But random events also happen in anyone's life.
11:38You know when you start questioning yourself about good people who died in accidents, who were run over in the
11:44middle of the sidewalk?
11:46The person had nothing to do with a fight, and suddenly was hit by a stray bullet, or died in
11:52a natural disaster.
11:53Brothers, in times like this, as I told you, we must remember that this world has been tainted by sin.
12:00And here on this earth, unfortunately, serious accidents happen, there are evil people committing crimes, unforeseen things that can happen
12:09to any of us, God's people or not.
12:11Just look at the reflection King Solomon made back in Ecclesiastes 9, verses 11 and 12.
12:19Look at what he observed.
12:21He said this,
12:31Sometimes the wise go hungry, the sensible do not grow rich, and the educated do not achieve success.
12:39It all depends on being in the right place at the right time.
12:44No one can predict when hard times will come.
12:47Like fishing a net or birds in a snare, people are suddenly caught by misfortune.
12:52Amen, brothers?
12:54So this reflection of his is very profound and very realistic.
12:59Because when we see someone who was a good person, someone who only wanted to help others,
13:04as was the case here with Rick, from the duo Rick e Renner, the case of Bruno Avelar, and the
13:10people who were there in the helicopter with them.
13:13Brothers, that was a tragedy, and we can't blame God and say that God caused that to happen.
13:20In the same way, you can't blame God by saying that God commanded the criminal to shoot that person just
13:27so they would die at that exact moment.
13:29The evil, brothers, was committed by a human being in this case, and that man is solely responsible for the
13:37harm he caused.
13:38So understand that God, he remains sovereign over the universe, over our lives.
13:44But in this world here, unfortunately, tragedies can happen.
13:49People can die before their time, for example.
13:52Imagine a person who took their own life.
13:56It's not right to say that if this person took their own life, it was because that was their time,
14:02and it had to happen that way.
14:04No, that's not it.
14:05A person who takes their own life is actually going through unbearable emotional suffering.
14:12There are people dealing with severe mental disorders, people who are desperate, going through all kinds of problems.
14:19I'm not here to say whether this person is going to hell or not.
14:23That's a topic for another video.
14:25It's something very complex.
14:27But I want to tell you that God is the one who gives life to each of us, and he
14:31commands us to preserve that life.
14:34We must cry out to God when we are going through struggles, and not try to take our own lives.
14:40Okay?
14:41And then there's one last question I want to talk to you about, and it's about people who already knew
14:47they were going to pass away.
14:49Did you know about that?
14:50Some people already know that they are going to pass away.
14:54We usually see cases like this, where on the last day of their lives, people become more introspective, more reflective,
15:02quieter.
15:03It's as if they sense their time is coming.
15:07Even the Apostle Paul felt it.
15:10He realized that his day was coming, and he said that he fought the good fight, finished the race, and
15:17he kept the faith.
15:18And then he concluded by saying that the time of his departure had come.
15:23There's also another example in the New Testament, where an elderly man named Simeon had received a prophecy from God
15:30that he would not die before seeing the Savior, who is Jesus Christ.
15:34So, when Jesus was born, and was a baby, that man was able to hold Jesus in his arms.
15:40And at that moment, when he took Jesus into his arms, he said a prayer that went like this.
15:46Now, Lord, you may let your servant depart in peace.
15:49That is to say, you can take me now.
15:52Brothers, it's wonderful when it's like that, isn't it?
15:55But it's very important that you understand that not all people will truly know when they will pass away.
16:02But many of them will even be forewarned, as was the case with King Hezekiah.
16:06The Bible tells, in the book of Isaiah, chapter 38, that this king, he had a very serious illness that
16:12brought him to the brink of death.
16:14At that moment, the prophet Isaiah was sent into his room with the following message.
16:18King, put your house in order, because you are going to die of this disease.
16:24But when Hezekiah heard that, the Bible says he turned his face to the wall.
16:28He wept bitterly, and he prayed with sincerity.
16:32He asked God to grant him more years of life.
16:36And then the Bible says that God showed mercy and compassion and heard his prayer.
16:41And then, God added 15 years to his life.
16:44Look how interesting that is.
16:47But when we read the Bible, we realize that those 15 years weren't good for King Hezekiah.
16:53Because he ended up disobeying God.
16:56He did wrong things.
16:58He had no peace.
16:59Anyway, we also have to be careful with what we ask for.
17:03We should ask for God's will to prevail.
17:05We should trust that God is good.
17:08That above all else, God is sovereign.
17:11And God is just.
17:13And God is faithful in our lives.
17:15Amen.
17:16So, I hope I've cleared up your doubts.
17:18But the most important thing of all is what Jesus said.
17:21I am the resurrection and the life.
17:24And whoever believes in me, though he may die, shall live.
17:28And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.
17:32Amen, brothers.
17:33So, whenever you hear people saying, is it that person's time?
17:37Remember God's word which explains it in a much more complete way.
17:40And the great truth that we must keep in our hearts is that God, he wants to fill heaven.
17:47That is God's purpose.
17:49And Jesus said, if you believe in him, even though you die, you will live forever.
17:55Brothers, this is priceless.
17:57So, the question you need to answer in your daily life is not how or when you're going to die.
18:03But rather, where will your soul go when you depart from this earth?
18:09Because life, brothers, is so brief, so fleeting.
18:12It takes people by surprise.
18:14And if your life were to end today here on earth, would you be certain of your salvation in Jesus?
18:19Is your name written in the book of life?
18:22So, do not put it off.
18:24Repent of your sins.
18:25Believe that Jesus is the only way, the only truth, the only life.
18:31The only way, the truth, and the life.
18:34And no one goes to God except through him.
18:37Amen.
18:37So, be sure to share this message.
18:39I know it will comfort and clear up many people's doubts.
18:43And I look forward to seeing you in the next video.
18:47May God bless you mightily.
18:49A big hug.
