00:01Brothers, I just watched a video here that impacted me so much, this video really moved
00:06me. Brothers, in fact, it's already going viral all over Brazil, and I'm going to tell
00:11you a little about it. And, most importantly, I want to take this opportunity to reflect
00:17on a few things. Not only with evangelicals, who are my main audience, I know there are
00:22many Catholics who follow me. And nowadays, I've noticed that more and more, religion
00:27is useless. Brothers, religion doesn't save anyone. The most important thing is your heart
00:33before God, your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, because the Bible says there is
00:39no mediator between God and men except His own Son, Jesus, who died for our sins and rose
00:46again to save us. I'm going to show you this video here, but first of all, I want to make
00:51it very clear here. Even if you don't have a religion, even if you don't go to church,
00:56watch. This video is not about evangelicals and Catholics. This video here, brothers,
01:01talks about pain, and pain has no religion. The compassion we saw in this video also has
01:07no religion. So, just so you understand what's happening, I'm going to read the article here,
01:13and then we're going to watch. And I want you to stay with me to hear what I have to
01:17say,
01:17okay? The article says this. An elderly man received the news of his grandson's death
01:23while attending mass at the main church of San Francisco de Asi in Tuberon, Santa Catarina.
01:30Visibly shaken by the news, he found a way to receive comfort by approaching the altar and
01:36hugging Father Carlos Henrique. I'm going to play the video here. Pay close attention and watch with
01:43your soul, keeping your heart open. Let's see what happened.
01:48Acompanhe.
02:28Brothers, so I had said that the video was intense, and I know that at this moment,
02:32there's no way to be prepared, right? To receive news like this. For those of you who don't know,
02:37actually, this man's grandson took his own life. So, my condolences to this man, to his whole family,
02:45including his brothers. I think we can pray for them. Imagine if all of Brazil prayed for God to
02:51comfort this man's heart. Many people feel this pain today, don't they? People who even take their
02:57own lives too. I want to talk about this in a little while too, because I know that right now,
03:02it brings up a lot of doubts, a lot of questions, and we really need a word. But anyway, brothers,
03:09I see an example, right? In the Bible, of a man who lost his son, which was David. He wept
03:16often for
03:17his son Absalom. Interestingly, David, he would beat his chest and say, Oh my son, I wish I had died
03:25in
03:26your place. Brothers, I can imagine the pain that David went through, and the pain of loss is the worst
03:32thing there is, right? Only those who are grieving know. Whoever is here listening to me today and
03:37has lost a loved one knows how painful it is, right? But you know something I realize? The
03:43attitude of this priest here is the same attitude that Jesus would have with anyone who is suffering
03:49right now. Because here, the priest didn't tell that man to come down. He didn't tell that gentleman
03:54to wait until after the Mass. And that's why I have all my respect for this priest, because Jesus would
04:01do that, brothers. Jesus, he always stopped to help someone who was suffering. Think about it in the
04:07Gospels. For example, when we see the blind man Bartimaeus, he began shouting, Jesus, son of David,
04:14have mercy on me. And right away, Jesus stopped, even though the blind man's friends told him to be
04:20quiet. Jesus didn't do that. He listened and healed the man. And then, on another day, while Jesus was
04:28walking with a crowd around him, suddenly he came across a funeral. It was a widow from the city of
04:35Nain. This woman had lost her husband and was now burying her only son. At that moment, Jesus' compassion
04:42activated God's power, and the boy was raised from the dead in front of her. Brothers, Jesus, he doesn't
04:49let it go unnoticed. He answers the cry of those in need, of those who weep. I also remembered here
04:56an
04:56example of a woman that everyone knows, right? Her name was Martha. Martha. She had the privilege of
05:02having Jesus in her house, together with her sister. Do you remember Mary? And at that moment,
05:08Martha got so excited, right? Wanting to offer the best to Jesus. And suddenly, Jesus calls her
05:14attention and says, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about so many things, but you should be
05:20here at my feet, learning from me, just like your sister Mary. It's interesting, brothers, that at
05:27first, we see a Martha who didn't care much about the presence of Jesus. But then, trouble came knocking
05:34at the door. Death came to her house through her brother Lazarus. The Bible says that when Lazarus
05:41became ill, his sisters sent for Jesus. But along the way, Jesus healed others. And when Jesus arrived at
05:49that funeral, with everyone crying a lot, it had already been a few days. And then, Martha finally
05:56recognizes the importance of Jesus' presence. And then she comes to his feet and starts saying,
06:02Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. In other words, at that moment,
06:09Martha was desperate, and she finally understood the importance of Jesus' presence. She said,
06:15Lord, if your presence had been here with us, none of this would have happened.
06:20Brother, do you know what's even more impressive? Jesus didn't judge Martha. He could have said,
06:26See, you didn't value me before, and now you come to me during difficulties, right? No, brothers,
06:32not at all. Jesus said to her, Martha, if you believe, you will see the glory of God. And then
06:39Jesus raised her brother and Mary's brother from the dead. Brothers, we need to learn something.
06:44The church has to be more like a hospital than a courtroom. What I noticed today, and it's very
06:50sad, right? It's that many churches today live to point fingers at others. As if we had the right
06:57to judge people, as if we were judges. Of course, brothers, we can judge people's actions. That's
07:04biblical, but we can't judge a person's heart. And, you know, brothers, we noticed something in this
07:11video here that man, he ran into the priest's arms to receive his comfort, his consolation. Maybe some
07:17people think, oh, Pastor Antonio Jr., but he was wrong there. He should have sought God, because man
07:23can't answer your prayers. It's true, brothers. Sometimes people just need a hug. I've noticed that
07:29in churches, we often try to solve things too easily. Sometimes it's just a simple word, a verse
07:36that we share. But sometimes the person wants presence. They want attention. Amen. I just remember
07:43that paralyzed man at the temple gate. Remember? Then Pedro and João suddenly appeared, and they
07:49didn't have any money to give as alms to that man. But they said, in the name of Jesus, get
07:55up and walk.
07:56And that man was completely healed at that moment. What impresses me most is that he once begged for
08:02alms at the temple gate. Why didn't that man go to the city center, where there were maybe banks and
08:08shops? And why was he there at the temple gate? Surely it's because he thought like this. Since these
08:15people talk so much about God, since they talk so much about God's love, I imagine that love is also
08:20in their hearts, and for sure, they will want to help me. Brothers, that's what many people think, you know?
08:27Thank God for that, and they should keep thinking that way. Yes, that in the churches where love is
08:33spoken of, where this wonderful God is preached about, they will find comfort there, a word of
08:39direction, of encouragement. But brothers, unfortunately, many people end up frustrated and
08:45hurt because they don't receive this love. So, this is another reflection I wanted to bring to you,
08:51and I want you to think about something now. Imagine someone mourning at a funeral,
08:55so overwhelmed with grief and tears that they can't recall what the pastor or priest said.
09:02But she remembers very well the people who were there by her side, who hugged her,
09:07who stayed there, going through that difficult moment with her. All of this, brothers, why are we
09:12suffering? The Bible makes it very clear. Weep with those who weep, amen, and rejoice with those who
09:19rejoice. So, this is a biblical principle that we need to start practicing again. So, it's no
09:25use saying we go to church if we don't put it into practice. Amen? And now, I want to talk
09:31here about
09:31the death of this grandson, of course, in a very respectful way. And as I told you, right? At this
09:38moment, the person often feels very guilty, or they have a lot of questions. Just the other day,
09:44I went to see a young woman who lost her son in the same way as this gentleman. So, brothers,
09:50I started to reflect on some things that I think are very important for you to know.
09:55The first is that this is not a time for judgment. It's a time for mercy. There's no point in
10:00bringing
10:00theology. There's no point in trying to preach to the person, trying to show them that someone who
10:06took their own life didn't go to heaven. Brothers, we can't judge, and I'll show you why. I'm not here
10:15in
10:15any way encouraging any of that, brother. If you are having thoughts, there may be people here
10:20listening to me who are thinking about doing this. We'll pray soon and ask God to remove this from
10:26your heart and mind. Amen. But what I want to say is this. The Bible talks about a man named
10:33Jonas,
10:33and he was a prophet of the Lord, but he strayed. You know when we meet people who have strayed
10:39from the
10:40faith, people who are no longer on the path. Jonas was that man, and then he made a drastic decision.
10:46He did exactly the opposite of what God had asked. God told him to preach in a city called Nineveh,
10:53and he went in the opposite direction, got on a boat. But suddenly, a strong storm came,
10:59and the men discovered that Jonas was the cause of that storm, all because God didn't want Jonas to
11:05disobey. So the sailors threw him into the sea, and God's mercy reached Jonas. So a very large fish
11:13swallowed him while he was there, in the belly of the fish. He spent three days and three nights.
11:19And then, when he was at the limit of his life, at the last moment, he made a simple prayer.
11:25Look at
11:25what is written in Jonas. Chapter 2, verse 7. He said, When my life was fading away, I remembered the
11:33Lord. My prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. Look how interesting that is, brothers. Even at the
11:41end of his life, in that moment of despair, pain, and suffering, he remembered the Lord. And he said,
11:48My life was already fading away. And so, here we learn something. We cannot judge anyone,
11:54because in the final instance, in the last moment, a person can remember God, just like it happened with
12:01him. And one thing we cannot forget, is that God placed in the heart of every human being, of every
12:07person, an instinct for survival. Deep down, everyone, brothers, wants to live, no matter how
12:13much they are suffering. Actually, the person. She wants to end her pain. She doesn't want to end her
12:19life. She wants to end the suffering she is going through. And when we look at the Word of God,
12:24we see,
12:25for example, great men of God, who also wanted to give up on life. But God strengthened them.
12:31Why did they put their trust in the Lord? Didn't they take matters into their own hands? We see the
12:37example of Elijah, the example of Job. They were men who went through a lot of suffering.
12:43So, brothers, who are we to judge what will happen after this life? Brothers, that's up to God. It's not
12:51time for you to blame yourself either. You who are a family member, simply give your heart and your life
12:57to Jesus Christ and recognize that only He can save you. Only He can bring the peace and joy that
13:04you
13:04need so much. Amen. And just to wrap up this video, I want to finish here by giving my advice
13:10to the
13:11leaders. You who are a church leader, you who have a calling from God, I want to tell you something
13:17that
13:17I have witnessed many times in my own life. God, many times, will end or interrupt your schedule
13:25to help those most in need. Jesus, He tells the parable, right? About the Good Samaritan,
13:31which everyone knows, right? And He tells how there was a man lying by the side of the road.
13:36And suddenly, a priest passed by. And then a Levite passed by. Neither stopped to help that man.
13:42Why? Certainly, because maybe they were late for the service, for the temple. They had their
13:48religious obligations and didn't respond to that. Because maybe they thought, oh, this isn't that
13:53important. What's more important is that I worship God. No, brothers, the most important thing is to
14:00love your neighbor as yourself. That's the Lord's commandment, and it's logical. First of all, you
14:06should love God. But I'm sure God will be much happier with you to stop and help someone instead of
14:12just saying a prayer instead of just preaching. You know, brothers, we should do both things.
14:18Worship God, but also help our brothers. So, here's the message. Let's not judge people.
14:26Judge their actions. Amen. Even brothers, since we're talking here about a priest, about his actions,
14:33we're talking about the Mass. Brothers, we're going to have a lot of surprises in heaven.
14:38Do you know why? Religion doesn't save anyone. What saves is your faith in Jesus Christ. It's you
14:44giving up your sins, repenting from your past, and starting to walk with Jesus. That's what brings
14:50you salvation. It's by grace, not by your own merits. You don't have to do penance. You don't have to
14:57try
14:57to pay to make up for it. Jesus did it for you on the cross. You just need to give
15:03your heart.
15:04And I remember that one day, brothers, I was sleeping at my father-in-law's house.
15:09Let me tell you what happened. I was there sleeping, and you know, when you start to hear a noise,
15:14in this case, it was the sound of the television, right? It was coming from the television, and that
15:19noise starts getting into your mind. And then I was kind of sleeping, and suddenly, I heard a worship
15:25song. I started to hear such a wonderful song, right? Talking about Jesus made me realize what
15:32a blessing this worship ministry is. And I started to feel the presence of God, brothers. The presence
15:37was filling me. You know, until I woke up. When I woke up, I started watching television. I realized
15:44that, actually, it was a Catholic group, not an evangelical group. Brothers, there I learned
15:51another lesson. There are people of God in the Catholic Church. There are people of God in the
15:56evangelical church, because God is not limited by a church sign. Of course, brothers, the truth is the
16:03Bible, and the Bible must be preached. And I recommend that you go to a place where the Bible is
16:09truly
16:09preached, because the Bible must be above tradition, above man's opinion. But brothers, I learned again
16:17that God isn't limited by anything earthly. God is watching here, in our hearts, with faith only in
16:24Jesus. Amen. Let's pray. I don't know this man's name, but I want you to raise a prayer now for
16:31his
16:31life, for his family. I imagine it's a very difficult, very painful moment. And after the video, share it.
16:39After this prayer, I know there are a lot of people who need to hear a word to hear these
16:43reflections
16:44that I brought here in the video. All right, let's pray. Lord, my God and my Father, I place before
16:51you, Lord, the life of this person who is going through a very difficult moment of mourning, of pain,
16:57of sadness. Oh, Lord, we don't know the pain he is feeling right now, but you know him, because you
17:04wept before Lazarus. Oh, Jesus, you had compassion on those most in need. And I ask you now, Lord,
17:11that you have compassion, Lord, on the life of this man, on the life of his family.
17:17Father, what pain, Lord! Many times it seems unbearable, but if it weren't for your grace,
17:23Lord, we really wouldn't be able to endure it, Father. I know some listening now also have thoughts
17:30of wanting to give up or end their life. Please take away these thoughts, Lord. Father,
17:36help us overcome pain and suffering. How many people right now are facing grief, pain, loss?
17:43My Father, and they are suffering so much. Sometimes you don't even feel like getting out of bed
17:49or facing life. It seems like life has lost its purpose, lost its meaning, Lord. But may you yourself
17:57bring new meaning to this person. God, both for this man and for all those who are suffering the
18:03pain of loss, Lord, have compassion, O God. Reveal the truth that is in Jesus, Christ Jesus. Enter the
18:11heart of this man and this woman. May they be able to make this decision now to repent of their
18:18sins,
18:18their faith, their hope in the Lord Jesus. We believe that the Lord died on the cross for our sins.
18:25The Lord shed his blood for our sake. The Lord did not deserve it, but the Lord suffered the
18:31punishment that we deserved. All for love, all by grace. And Jesus, I ask you now that your blood
18:39purifies us, forgives us of all sin. Oh, my dear, if you have never given your life to Jesus Christ,
18:46if you have never repented of your sins and never said this in prayer, I want to say a few
18:52words here,
18:53and you can repeat them right where you are. And I believe that Jesus, he will forgive you,
18:59he will save you, and he will restore your whole life. Amen. Repeat these words with me, Lord Jesus.
19:05I acknowledge that I can't walk alone. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that because of my choices,
19:12I have done what is evil in your sight. Jesus, forgive me for all my sins.
19:18I believe that you died on the cross because of me. I believe that you shed your blood to forgive
19:25my
19:25sins. And I also believe that on the third day, you rose again to save me. Thank you, Jesus,
19:34for your forgiveness. I receive it by faith. I renounce all family traditions. I renounce all my
19:41past. Everything I thought could save me. And I put my faith only in the Lord, because only the Lord
19:49died for me and rose again to save me. I ask you, Lord, write my name in the book of
19:56life and give me
19:57your peace, your joy, and restore my whole life. Jesus, I pray and thank you in your name. Amen.
20:05Glory to God. Receive, Father, this prayer that your children have made. Now, I believe,
20:13my God, that you are faithful and you have heard each one of the prayers. I ask you now, Father,
20:19that today's message may reach the greatest number of people, that more and more lives may be touched
20:25and reached. And may your name be glorified for everyone. Always in the name of Jesus, I pray and
20:32thank you. Amen. Glory to God.
