00:49I sense a lot of tension when I was on hold.
00:52I just wanted everyone to laugh a little bit and bring everybody together.

00:59Because I was asking him, he was telling me after the last segment, he's like,
01:03I think you're on a delay.
01:04And I said, is it possible that your brain just processes stuff slower than the rest of us?
01:08And it seems like you're on a delay.
01:11I'll never forget Sid Rosenberg being on the late I Missed in the Morning Radio program.
01:15And he was on a delay when he was doing sports for Miami.
01:18And Charles McCord, when they asked him, was Sid on a delay?
01:20And Charles just said, no, he's just stupid.
01:25Nice guy, huh?
01:27Is there, I'll talk NFL with you.
01:29Is there, I don't know, can you make a sweeping reaction after week one of the regular season?
01:36Can we say the Rams aren't as good as we thought?
01:38The Jets are better than we thought.
01:41The Giants might be a force to be reckoned with.
01:44The Chiefs are still elite and Patrick Mahomes is 100%.
01:48Like, what can we do after week one?
01:50Or you can't do any of that.
01:52I thought the team that made the biggest statement was Kansas City.
01:55Now, I don't even think Mahomes played all that well.
01:58I still think he takes too many hits right now.
02:01And I do think it takes you still a full year playing to get back to your normal self when
02:06coming off that ACL injury.
02:07We saw the same thing with Tom Brady at the quarterback position.
02:10But that defense lost two corners in Watson and McDuffie, both to the Rams.
02:16And then Montser Delaney has the pick, and then he gets knocked out of the game.
02:20That defense was really damn good.
02:23And that offense with Kenneth Walker was able to punch you in the mouth.
02:27So, Kansas City, with how bad the Chargers looked, how bad the Broncos looked.
02:32And I know that the Raiders beat up on the Dolphins, but I'm not putting a lot of stock in
02:36the Raiders.
02:37Kansas City looks like the best team in the AFC West.
02:38But you're in New York.
02:41The Giants were mine.
02:43They're not playing the Browns.
02:45They're not playing the Cardinals, who beat the hell out of the Chargers crazily.
02:48But they were playing the Cowboys, who were supposed to be this great team, two receivers, solidified the defense.
02:53And the Giants, I think the hardball looks good on that team.
02:58Yeah, there's no doubt about it.
02:59There was a culture and there was a professionalism that we have not seen with the Giants in quite some
03:04time now.
03:04They've only had two winning seasons in the last ten.
03:07Think about that for a gold standard organization like the New York Giants.
03:12But I still don't know how great Jackson Dart is.
03:14He played unbelievable the other night.
03:16But he just has this aura to him.
03:18And he has what I think in him to, like, be the right guy to turn that organization around.
03:26And Isaiah Likely was a tremendous offseason signing.
03:29They have a good pass rush.
03:31But, man, everyone, all offseason, this Cowboys defense is going to be so much better.
03:35You get rid of Matt Eberluse.
03:37And now Christian Parker is a defensive coordinator.
03:40Oh, it's going to be wonderful.
03:41I was doing the game for Compass Media Networks.
03:44That defense stunk.
03:45Like, it was terrible.
03:47Everything that everyone told me about, I was like, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
03:50So, yeah, the Giants were definitely impressive.
03:53What about the Browns?
03:54I feel like that's the biggest dumpster fire.
03:56Maybe they're not going to end up being the worst team in the NFL.
03:58Maybe that'll be the Dolphins.
04:00But I feel like the Browns situation just couldn't get worse.
04:03And somehow it did.
04:04Why continue to trot out Deshaun Watson out there when he's not better or not an answer?
04:10Because they're a dumb organization.
04:12Like, I am so done talking about Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns.
04:16They're a waste of everybody's time.
04:18Deshaun Watson today, oh, the media expects me to throw 400 yards every game and five touchdowns.
04:26Bro, you haven't thrown a 300-yard game, I think, since, like, the 2020 season.
04:31Forget 400.
04:32You stink.
04:33You're washed.
04:34You're done.
04:35You've had a massive fall from grace.
04:37You got away with everything.
04:38You take no accountability.
04:39You blame everybody else.
04:41Like, this guy, Deshaun Watson, paints himself out to be a victim.
04:44Like, he was a jackass in the preseason.
04:46He's now been a jackass in the regular season.
04:49The last five years, he's been the biggest a-hole in football.
04:52Like, I'm done talking about this guy.
04:55He stinks.
04:56He's washed up.
04:57And the only people that defend him are people like Quincy Avery, the quarterback coach,
05:01who's on his payroll.
05:02And what about on the other side, Gil?
05:04Like you're saying, the Giants, they were surprising.
05:06And, you know, different teams.
05:07The bad side.
05:08We expected the Browns to be bad.
05:10Was it the Jets?
05:11They looked okay?
05:12Or, like I said, I brought up the Chargers.
05:14I really thought the Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh, and McDaniel thing would work out.
05:19And now I think they have a little bit of identity crisis because it doesn't look like
05:22they're playing the Giants' Harbaugh.
05:25Yeah, I give credit to the Jets because they went up against Tennessee, an inferior football
05:29team.
05:29And it's rare the Jets are in a spot where they're playing an inferior football team.
05:32And they beat them up pretty good.
05:34The Chargers were the most stunning.
05:36I have two survivor entries.
05:38Thank God I have two survivor entries because one's already out thanks to the Los Angeles
05:42Chargers.
05:43Jim Harbaugh has done a good job with the Chargers.
05:45We've expected it to pop off and take it to the next level.
05:48It hasn't.
05:49And boy wonder, Mike McDaniel, man, that offense looked spectacular with the Chargers.
05:55I'm sure he's going to go make 4,000 jokes at the podium and be a clown.
05:58Oh, my God.
05:59I was so disappointed in them.
06:00And I thought they would eventually get that train moving in the right direction in the
06:05game.
06:06But geez, they stunk.
06:07And I know Harbaugh's now talking about not playing enough in the preseason and all that.
06:12I don't care if you play the guys in the preseason or not.
06:14You got to go beat the lousy Cardinals.
06:16Gelby does not want to hear from the Browns or Mike McDaniel.
06:20Write these notes down because Gelby's already getting fed up with the NFL season.

07:05The Sunday after that, they host Patrick Mahomes and Casey.
07:09How can they stay in these games?
07:12Get a, a decent blocking performance and Devon Achan's going to have to pop off and dominate
07:18time of possession.
07:19That that's, that's the only way I could see them staying in this game with the 49ers is
07:24if the line drastically improves from week one to week two and Achan just, it's like death
07:30by a thousand paper cuts.
07:32And he just hits you with like three, four yards, three, four yards, three, four yards.
07:36And you just dominate the time of possession.

07:38It'll be what about, remember little giants, the movie?

07:42Well, the little giants couldn't play with the Cowboys with, with ice box, but they had

08:48Uh, are the jets not as bad as maybe we had thought because coming into the year, I mean,
08:54you talked about it with us, Kelby, the only game, the dolphins were favorites in this season.

09:01I think it's week 12 and we're all kind of just saying, okay, yeah, that's one of their
09:04wins.
09:05Is it that the Titans stink or is it that the jets are probably a little bit better than
09:09most people expected?
09:10I said on the show at one point in the off season, the three worst teams in the NFL
09:14are the Browns, the dolphins and the Cardinals.
09:17I forget what the order was.
09:19Um, but the jets, like they have young talent.
09:22I know Omar Cooper jr.
09:23Is now going to be out for a little bit.
09:24Kenyan Sadiq, they drafted in the tight end.
09:26They already have the established guys like, uh, breeze hall and Garrett Wilson.
09:29David Bailey is the young pass rusher like, and they have three first round picks next
09:34year.
09:34Like their general manager did a good job in creating a bad situation, at least having a
09:40path to maybe the plane could take off the runway in a year or two.
09:43If they hit the right quarterback, uh, Gino Smith is competent.
09:48I don't think he's going to be as bad as what he was with the Raiders.
09:50I don't think he's going to be all that good.
09:51Like the jets are probably still a five or six win team, but they do have young pieces
09:55where if you look at the dolphins, yeah, it was Rodriguez was all over the place.

10:02Um, but it's not like the dolphins young pieces are okay.
10:07I know who the bookends are going to be for the future where the jets, I know they still
10:12have to get the quarterback, but you could kind of have an idea of who the bookends are

10:17After two to three weeks of college football, who's the best team in college football right
10:23now, Miami, I dare to say Oregon.

10:28Well, actually, if you listen, I said it was Miami over Oregon.
10:31So I did have Oregon one before the season got that wrong.
10:37Uh, the first two weeks haven't looked that good, but if I had Miami winning the national
10:41championship before the start of the season, I had them too.
10:43And then Oregon loses one game.
10:44Yeah.
10:44The Canes are in at that number one.
10:46There's no doubt about it.
10:47University of Miami is the best team in college football after having watched them play for
10:51a couple of weeks.
10:52Yeah.
10:52I like, I know they haven't really played anybody and that Notre Dame game is, is going
10:56to be massive, but how does this team not win the ACC?
10:59Um, Ohio state Ryan day in a big spot urinates down his leg.
11:03So they have the most talent, but I can't trust them.
11:06Lanning hasn't been, I like Dan Lanning, but he hasn't been able to win a big game yet.
11:09Notre Dame is, is good, but I think Miami is better skill position player.
11:13Then them, um, Indiana has an easy schedule just like Miami has an easy schedule.
11:18So Indiana is going to be in the mix and I like their wide receivers, but yeah, I, I
11:22think Miami with Fletcher and Tony and Barkate, uh, and Mensa, they're the best team in college
11:29football right now.
11:30And what Arch Manning did, and I know the numbers, but what Arch Manning did last night,
11:36second half against Ohio state is now, is he the Heisman front runner?
11:39Cause I was yelling at Ocho Cinco, Joe Johnson, a bunch of people Saturday night.
11:44And I looked dumb saying there's no way Arch comes back from this.
11:48Um, I didn't think that they were coming back in the game.
11:51Like his receivers are dropping the football left and right.
11:54Uh, it was 20 to three.
11:55They gave me no indication that they were going to come on back.
11:58I give him credit.
11:59I'm not going to say that he should definitely win the Heisman though, because of this.
12:03Um, but yeah, no, Texas is going to be a problem.
12:07LSU against Ole Miss this weekend is going to be a fascinating contest.
12:10And the hatred of like, I was talking to Jeff Collins before I jumped on with you guys.
12:13He coached that, uh, Mississippi state as their defensive coordinator for all those years.
12:17He goes, he had the worst thing said to him ever when he was the DC at Mississippi state
12:21going to Ole Miss, uh, you know, in that egg bowl, he goes, it's going to be a hundred
12:26times worse for, for Lane Kiffin coming up on Saturday night with that animosity, you know,
12:30the egg bowl is one of the great college football rivalries.
12:33But I look at the Heisman race, the two best players in college football.
12:36And as a Heisman voter, it usually goes to a quarterback, but I think the two best players
12:42are Jeremiah Smith and Malachi Tony.
12:44Now I don't think either are going to win the award.
12:46I think if someone's going to win it for Miami, it's probably going to be Mensa and Ohio state,
12:51maybe Smith, but like probably usually going to be a quarterback and saying, but I think
12:55those are the two best players.
12:57And I said that before the start of the season, it's not a crazy take in college football.
13:00Uh, but yeah, there's no doubt about it.
13:01Arch this year has to either win the Heisman trophy or win the national championship.
13:06If he doesn't, then yeah, his run as the Texas quarterback has been a disappointment.

13:18his take that when you go for a meal with your friends or family, you get pancakes as an
13:25appetizer.

15:02With that photo shoot that he did.
15:03I mean, it's maddening, Gelby, that they're holding up a sexy ad as ruining women's sports
15:11when she posted herself all these ESPN, the magazine photo shoots of female athletes covering
15:17themselves strategically with a ball or a glove or something like that.
15:21I don't understand it, but to do my research properly on it, I watched The Housemaid twice
15:27last night, and I'll probably watch it again twice tonight, just for research purposes.
15:31From a marketing standpoint, no one knew what Novig was before this, and Novig did a great
15:35campaign.
15:36They want men to participate in this.
15:38What do men love?
15:39Boobs.
15:40Simple.
15:41It's not that complicated.
15:43When I watched that, I didn't think, oh man, this is going to set the WNBA back years.
15:47The WNBA never crossed my mind, or women's tennis, or anything like that in there.
