The show starts with a sad and disappointed recap... The Miami Dolphins are officially out of playoff contention following their embarrassing display on Monday Night Football to the Steelers 28 to 15.

00:00Nothing to see here, folks.
00:01Leave the glasses at home.
00:03No, yeah, nothing to see here.
00:06Just a regular old December Dolphins swoon.
00:09Nothing to see here.
00:10Traditional tale is old as time, dude.
00:12Nothing to see here.
00:13You know what's amazing is that I was explaining to you what Pittsburgh was doing last night.
00:22Yep.
00:22And what did I tell you the remedy was?
00:26No huddle.
00:27Oh.
00:28Well, and now everybody's saying, why didn't they do no huddle?
00:33I'm like, during the game, I was like, you know what?
00:36Don't give them a chance to set their defense.
00:39Yeah.
00:40Well, the Dolphins, they zag when you zig, Leroy, because they were like, how about down, needing four touchdowns?
00:48How about all the huddles?
00:50How about all the huddles we take?
00:52Right.
00:52I've never heard Troy Aikman that infuriated.
00:56Yes.
00:57Ever.
00:58I don't think I've ever heard him that mad.
00:59Here's why.
01:01Because even if you are getting pounded, even if you're down by 30, when it gets to the fourth quarter and you need however many points, you have to try.
01:16And we see it all the time when we watch football, is that you'll look and go, why aren't there in more sense of urgency?
01:27Oh, right.
01:28Like, and I think it's not even, you know, who it is.
01:40We've sucked the whole time, but we're going to try to pick it up and go no huddle.
01:43Maybe that'll give us a chance.
01:44Because even though you know you got no chance of hell, everybody just like say, well, at least they're trying.
01:49It's like when the heat are down and you have no shot in a game down 20, just chuck a bunch of threes.
01:54See what happens.
01:55Instead, when you're down 10 with a minute left to go in the game, a dribble handoff ain't going to work.
02:02Yeah.
02:03If you're down and swing for the fences, the dolphins are like, I really felt like the fourth quarter was Mike McDaniel simply fluffing up stats to make himself look good.
02:14Like, and, and two or two, like, I'm like, what was the point of that?
02:18Um, what was the purpose?
02:19You guys literally were crawling through the entire motion of everything.
02:23And then just the, the cherry on top is you, Chris Webber did at the end of the game.
02:31No timeouts.
02:32And you're calling timeout.
02:34Oh my God.
02:35Just to add embarrassment to shame.
02:39Like, wow.
02:41One of the, one of the cheese Louise.
02:43One of the other problems is, and I don't know how much of this is true or not true.
02:51But when I watch a game like that and, and, and I'll say to you, here's what they should do.
02:59Right.
03:00And by no means do I think I'm smarter than the people on that field that that's their job, but I've been in enough situations and enough circumstance to know how to go about dealing with that.
03:18Like, I played against Pittsburgh twice a year and I told you right from the beginning, what was happening, how to defend it and what to do.
03:26Like that you can, when you play the Pittsburgh Steelers and they do zone blitz, you cannot block people.
03:33You have to treat them like traffic cones, meaning that three guys left, three guys, right.
03:39It doesn't matter who comes, you're still responsible for the numbers.
03:44You count numbers.
03:45You don't count people.
03:47So a lot of times they got in trouble when a left in or left linebacker Russian would drop off and they bring a safety still only blocking four.
04:01But this guy's chasing, you know, a guy who's dropping back in coverage and lo and behold, two of throws are right to him.
04:09That's what the zone blitz is for, to fool you with people, not with numbers.
04:17And so one of the ways you can change all of this, whenever you see a defense that is kicking your ass, whenever you see a defense that you go in a huddle, you can't figure it out.
04:28What you do is, every time you go no huddle, they have a set defense, a base defense they go to.
04:37They don't get exotic.
04:39They don't want to get caught with you going no huddle.
04:43So they kind of, everybody gives a signal.
04:46We go base cover two or base cover three or whatever.
04:50And you have to do that to them to get them out of their comfort zone where they can go in a huddle, they can have a conversation with their coaches in the green dot, and they can design these exotic defenses.
05:07And so I don't know whether it's, we don't, our guys don't, can't do it, or we're just not going to do it.
05:21And so a coach will always know, you know, you can watch a game and say, this is what they should be doing.
05:27But that coach is like, this is what I want to do, but we can't do it.
05:32Oh, yeah.
05:33Well, I think he's, I think there came a time, I think a month into the season, he's very, very scared of utilizing Tua.
05:41Tua's just had no confidence.
05:45He's just, he's just not the same guy, dude.
05:47He's just not the same guy.
05:49I told you what the problem is.
05:50He, I know it's, but we, but it's so obvious to the eye.
05:55Like this is a guy because even in his good years, like he was a guy that had slim margin for error in his physical traits as it was.
06:04Right.
06:04And now it's just like, you've, you've seen all the, uh, the, I don't know if it's the wear and tear or the not tuning up, whatever the hell it is.
06:13It's awful.
06:15And people are fed up and they don't want to watch it anymore.
06:18And it's predictable and, uh, they're eliminated officially done.
06:25I mean, they were, they were going to make the playoffs, but it's over, over now.
06:29Now you don't even have to worry.
06:30We don't have to worry about watching anybody else.
06:32Right.
06:33It's, it's, it's done.
06:34So it's cooked.
06:35And, uh, we'll get to our headlines brought to you by Doral Volkswagen, home of the price.

06:45As the dolphins lose to the Steelers last night, 28 to 15 Steelers have not lost at a home on Monday night football since 1991.
06:55And Mike Tomlin's never lost on Monday night football.
06:58How about this one?
07:00I was playing football, man.
07:02That's right.
07:03That's how long ago that was.
07:04It was a long time, dude.
07:05It was a long to Aaron Rogers was slinging it yesterday.
07:07He had that swagger about him yesterday.
07:10Uh, oh my God.
07:11I mean, poor Minka Fitzpatrick.
07:15I mean, when he, when he, when he slid down DK Metcalf's leg, like Jeff Van Gundy on Alonzo morning.
07:21I mean, that was, oh, I mean, he DK Metcalf just shook off all the dolphins.
07:27It's just, you know, the, the, the optics of it were.
07:30It was so bad.
07:32One of the things that is very hard to do in the cold is grab.
07:40So even running backs, if you notice the way they tackled running backs was hit them and grab a big part of them.
07:49You know, usually you see the running backs run, they'll grab their shirt or, you know, pull them down that way or grab an arm.
07:55You can't, you can't grab like that.
07:57So a lot of hitting, if you could break a tackle, you're going to have a lot of success.
08:02Um, and that's what it looked like.
08:04It looked like the defense couldn't get off the field.
08:08Um, the offense never had the ball.
08:10And when you can't, when you're an offense that's struggling anyway, and you got to do things a certain way, when you're not getting the ball, it takes you out of your game quicker than, and then a lot of other teams because you don't have chunk plays.
08:27Brittany, how were you watching that game last night?
08:31I mean, I know you were working the heat game, but, uh, as you were giving it a peek, what did you think?
08:36It was just embarrassing.
08:37Like, I mean, I, I don't know why I expected it to be different.
08:40I don't know why I.
08:42Snow practice.
08:42Me too.
08:43Me too.
08:43I mean, I understand the snow practice.
08:45I thought it was.
08:45I didn't buy into that one, but no, I, I don't know why I expected the offense to be any different and give me any sense semblance of hope, but they did.
08:55And, and it was very frustrating and it's the issues that we had four games prior to yesterday were on full effect.
09:05And we were, I feel like we were, got the wool pulled over our eyes the last four games.
09:10I wouldn't, I wouldn't say you got the wool pulled over your eyes.
09:15I think the situation that haunts every team, right?
09:23And, and we talk about, you know, it's kind of one of the hidden stats in football that if you, the only teams that can win games and win time of possession are teams that score 30 because they're scoring quickly.
09:38Um, this team, this Dolphins team, when things are going good, control the ball, control the clock.
09:47They usually always win the time of possession.
09:51I remember looking up, I think in the second quarter, Pittsburgh had the ball 15 minutes and the Dolphins had seven.
10:00And I'm like, there is no possible way any team in the NFL could win without a kickoff return for a touchdown without a pick six without, if you're just playing offense with no turnovers, nobody in the NFL could win a game.
10:24Yeah.
10:25Yeah.
10:25We looked at the, the, the time of, uh, the time possession is that different in the third quarter.
10:34It was one 60 in offensive yards to negative 20.
10:38Right.
10:39And they were in what five plays, 10 plays.
10:41It was, it's like, it was atrocious.
10:43And then, and what they do after halftime, I don't know what the, I, I, are they playing poker?
10:48Like what, what, I don't know what the hell's going on.
10:50Like, are they, are they, are they, are they getting drunk?
10:53Like every third quarter, they're, they're an abomination.
10:57I think that I would have came out in the second half and just kind of scripted plays in, in the locker room, but do it.
11:10No huddle.
11:11You know what I mean?
11:13Um, just to change it up.
11:16Um, the problem that I've had all year with this team and me and Tobin have had this conversation over and over and over and over again.
11:24Why do you act like you can keep doing what you're doing?
11:29Don't they're pros too.
11:32They go in there, have time and talk about what we need to do to defend the good stuff that you've done.
11:37So why on earth do you don't, you, why do you think you can come out and say, Hey, let's do the same stuff.
11:44Now, maybe it's the limitations of the players, including tour, but no huddle doesn't change your offense.
11:53It changes your tempo.
11:55That's it.
11:56Genuinely think that, uh, Troy Aikman would have punched to it.
11:59Mike McDaniel in the face yesterday, if he had the opportunity, he was so.
12:02Yes, because it's, it's, it's the basic fundamental.
12:08It's a basic fundamental offensive football to change it up.
12:12Every team you see, every team do it.
12:15You watch football every week and they go, we need to change it up.
12:18Our offense is stagnant.
12:19Same plays.
12:20No huddle.
12:21You see it all the time.
12:24Here's the thing that's even embarrassing about it.
12:26Tua is sitting there after the game and he's saying that we can't even hear each other in the huddle.
12:32And I'm like, what?
12:35Like every, every time this guy opens his mouth about the operation of this team, I sit there and I'm like, dude, this is your sixth year.
12:48This is not new.
12:49You've been in this offense for four years.
12:52You're sitting here this week saying, oh yeah, we're changing some things up in the most.
12:59It's week 15.
13:02And you're sitting here telling me about operational problems still.
13:07You're a veteran.
13:11And you're, I mean, just the, just the loaf of bread that comes out of his arm.
13:16And then they, and then they sit there and they waste our time slinging it in the fourth quarter for no reason.
13:27Taking all this sweet ass time.
13:29No urgency.
13:30Let's just make it look good for the stats at the end of the season.
13:34A complete farce.
13:38You guys want to get in three Oh five, five, six, seven Oh five 60.
13:42We'll take some calls today.
13:44I'm sure people want to vent three Oh five five.
13:46Or maybe they don't.
13:46Maybe people are sick of it.
13:47I don't know.
13:48Three Oh five.
13:48I don't think what, like there's absolutely nothing that has happened that you should be surprised with.
14:04Um, we really shouldn't be surprised.
14:07Like this is, this is, and, and, and to, you know, one of the reasons why I thought they had a chance was because they run the football.
14:19Um, but when you have the ball for only seven minutes in a quarter and a half, um, regardless of any other issues, that one fundamental thing right there, if I'm just doing a drive by on the stats, I would say Pittsburgh must be stopping them from running because time of possession is
14:48Um, it is, is, is big.
14:52And, and what ended up happening is, um, it's almost like, because you couldn't sustain any drives, um, you kind of put your defense out there and they wore down.
15:08Yeah, they wore down.
15:08It was, it was clear as day.
15:10We'll take a break.
15:11It's a lot.
15:11They played a lot of football yesterday.
