00:00One more quarterback for you, Joe, and that's Joe Burrow.
00:04How good is Joe Burrow?
00:06And now with a defense, and they tried to improve the offensive line,
00:11pretty good opening day against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense.
00:15Joe Burrow, that Cincinnati Bengals team,
00:17people may be sleeping on them on doing something in the AFC.
00:21Well, it doesn't, you know, you're certainly not sleeping on Joe
00:24because he's come out and said basically, hey, we've got to get to the Super Bowl.
00:27We have to win the Super Bowl.
00:28I mean, he's gotten close before.
00:31I think he's outstanding.
00:33The field doesn't take like a Josh Allen, like a Lamar Jackson.
00:37You know, he doesn't have that aspect of his game.
00:40People don't necessarily appreciate how good he really is.
00:43But to be able to work out of the pocket with those weapons, to me, he's special.
00:48He really is.
00:49He was special when he came out, and now he just continues to get better and better.
00:52And like you say, they're putting a better team around him
00:55because it isn't the quarterback position.
00:57Dan, you've heard me say this a thousand times.
01:00It's the most single-dependent position on the field.
01:03You depend on so many things to happen for you.
01:06Dallas Cowboys last year outscored the world, but they couldn't stop anybody,
01:10which sort of looks like they're in that same mode again this year.
01:14And Dak's not going to have a – Dak will have a heck of a year.
01:17I'm sure he will.
01:18But you need help from everybody.
01:20And the kicking game, you said it.
01:22The commanders missed a kick this past weekend.
01:27So the little things matter so much.
01:29But Joe Burrow is special.
01:30He really is.
01:31I've got to get one more guy in here on you, and that's Dak Prescott.
01:35We're now past 10 years.
01:37What's your take on him and how well he's played as a player?
01:41Look, I think he's great in the pocket.
01:43I don't really think outside of maybe two years, Joe, like you had a dominant run game.
01:48Boy, a quarterback's best friend is a run game and a big-time run game.
01:52I'm not sure he's ever really had it.
01:54And maybe that's one of the reasons that the Dallas Cowboys have really struggled
01:58when it comes to time of possession is because they can't close teams out.
02:02Joe, they put a lot of yards up, 20-20.
02:04But when they get in the red zone, they can't get it in the end zone.
02:08You are so right, Dan, and you have to be able to run the football in the end zone.
02:11Look what Kenneth Walker did last night.
02:13He outgained the entire Denver Broncos football team.
02:16I mean, to me, this is the deal that I think Jerry Jones should have made,
02:21and it's water under the bridge, but I'm going to say it anyway.
02:24He had two number one picks.
02:26He could have traded a one and possibly a one for next year to the Arizona Cardinals
02:31and taken Jeremiah Love.
02:33You put that running back in that backfield with Dak and those weapons outside,
02:38you've got yourself one heck of an explosive offense.
02:41But they still lack a running game.
02:43When I played for George Allen many, many years ago,
02:46and I believe the philosophy still holds true,
02:49if you can stop the run and you can run the football,
02:53you're going to win a larger percentage of games
02:55than if you're just trying to throw the ball around all over the park.
02:58And everybody wants to do that now.
03:00And everybody wants to do that now.
