00:02I mean, I watched him against that defense.
00:05That Texans defense gave up 274 yards in total offense last year,
00:10ranked number one, one of the most historic defenses,
00:12and he went in there and put a 30-burger on them
00:15and 350 yards in total offense and four total touchdowns.
00:18What makes him so good?
00:21I think accuracy.
00:24Well, first of all, let me say,
00:25I've watched him grow over the last three years
00:28from a decision-making standpoint.
00:30A few years back, he got down into the red zone,
00:32down on the 10-yard line, 5-yard line.
00:34All of a sudden, it's an interception, trying to do too much.
00:37I think he's let the game come to him,
00:39and he understands exactly what he needs to do.
00:42He made a throw on the sidelines.
00:44I don't think anybody else in this league could make in that game.
00:47It was unbelievable.
00:49And just his physical nature, when he takes off and runs,
00:53you don't see defensive backs coming up trying to take him on one-on-one.
00:57They're sort of sliding to the left and sliding to the right,
01:00which was another thing I noticed yesterday in a lot of the games.
01:02We saw a lot of quarterbacks running with the football yesterday.
01:05Patrick Mahomes last night, Josh Allen.
01:07We saw that.
01:08Jalen Hurts.
01:08We've seen guys make big plays with their legs.
01:11And the other thing that I noticed this early in the season,
01:14it happens every year, because the starters don't play, Dan,
01:18you see the ball on the ground.
01:20They don't really protect the ball the way they should.
01:24Defenses are flying around because they're headed a little.
01:27And then after week two, you'll start to see things settle in a little bit more.
01:31But there are teams that, you know, are the teams.
01:34Like Detroit's comeback was unbelievable because your quarterbacks
01:37and wide receivers make a difference.
01:39The Browns, you know, are just struggling.
01:42I think they'll get to Shadour very quickly in Cleveland.
01:45I got to ask you, too, about that, what you said.
01:48You know, back in our time, Joe,
01:50there was a time when we played six exhibition games
01:53and you were ready for that first game, whether you liked it or not.
01:56You make it sound so long ago.

01:58And now all of a sudden, you know,
01:59you don't see any of these guys playing any of these preseasons.

02:22I think after week three, you're going to have a pretty good idea who you are.
02:26After week three, you've got a pretty good idea what you're going to look like
02:30and conceptually the things that you feel are going to make a difference in games for you.
