03:54There is a lot to talk about before we get into Triple Mania because, wow, what an ending to a

03:58show.

03:59Beautiful show.

04:07Before we get to that, we got to touch on what happened the night prior.

04:10In Chile, Stephanie Vecquer challenging Liv Morgan for the WWE Women's Heavyweight Championship.

04:19Now, there was a post put online on X by, oh my goodness, what is his name?

04:26He's drawn a blank.

04:26Adam Pearce, earlier in the day, stating that because of all the melee in the matches on Raw, he was

04:32making a match for Chile that was going to be Stephanie Vecquer challenging Liv Morgan for the Women's World Heavyweight

04:37Championship and that he was going to make sure that things were fair down the middle.

04:40And the way he was going to do that was by having a special guest referee, the man, Becky Lynch.

04:46And that's exactly what happened.

04:47It turned out to be a fantastic decision.

04:50Lots of back and forth.

04:51She really did a great job of calling it down the middle until Liv started getting physical with Becky Lynch.

04:56Shoving her in the face at first, hitting her another time.

05:00Obviously, that's a problem.

05:01She ends up hitting Oblivion out of nowhere, goes for the pin.

05:05She gets a one, a two, and then a flipping off by Becky Lynch.

05:09She gets upset.

05:10And in the process, we end up seeing La Primera.

05:14She ends up hitting finishing moves.

05:16She hits her corkscrew moonsault off the turnbuckle.

05:19I apologize.

05:20I never remember what the heck her thing is called.

05:22But she hits all that SVB and the Vecquer Inferno.

05:26Hits those off the turnbuckle.

05:28Pins her.

05:28Wins the championship.

05:30And there's two things here.

05:31One, if you watch closely, the video is online.

05:35Liv Morgan rolls over.

05:36And they are clearly breaking keyfabe and having a very special moment in Stephanie Vecquer's home country of Chile.

05:43And Liv is clearly sharing a moment with her, putting her arms around her head, using basically her hair to

05:48cover up that they're having a conversation.

05:50Liv knew how special this was to Stephanie.

05:52The world knows how special this must be to Stephanie.

05:55And for her to be able to be the one to pass the torch to her, to give her the

05:59championship opportunity, to lose the championship in her home country, had to have meant so much to Liv Morgan.

06:04It was a beautiful thing to see.

06:05And then celebrating with Becky Lynch, seeing her come out and talk to the crowd, seeing her share that beautiful

06:11moment with the people of Chile.

06:13Congratulations, Stephanie Vecquer.

06:14Great decision, Triple H.

06:16Doing it at a house show.

06:17Something we don't see very often.

06:18So in the last couple weeks, it has some very shocking title changes, whether it's Sami Zayn, Stephanie Vecquer.

06:23This is exciting.

06:24It makes it so you want to be at every WWE show because you just never know when something crazy

06:29is going to happen.

06:29And that's exactly what we got a couple times this week.

06:32Again, one last thing before we get into TripleMania.

06:34Rey Mysterio is having conversations right now, obviously, about his retirement at some point.

06:39We're not sure when.

06:40He did an interview with his son.

06:42He didn't give a definitive date, but he started to talk about how he started his wrestling career at 14

06:46years old in 1989.

06:48He said something like he doesn't want to look father time in the eye just yet, but he knows that

06:53one day, eventually, there will be retirement.

06:56But most important thing, I think, in the whole interview was he wants to stay active in the business,

07:02whether that be in the back, training young guys, being an agent, being in the creative process.

07:08He wants to do something.

07:09They asked him about how he wants to finish up his career, and he said, you know, as far as

07:14who he'd like to retire him,

07:15he said they've had one or two one-on-one contests that were in Rey's favor,

07:20and he said that what he'd like to do is he'd like to make history by having his ending come

07:24at the hands of his son, Dirty Dom,

07:26something that we just haven't seen before, really.

07:29He did also get asked about his daughter, Aaliyah, who is now training at the Performance Center,

07:34and I'll give you the quote here.

07:36It says, but now that I have my daughter training, I mean, that's like a different thing for me.

07:40I would really love to be able to try to share the ring with both.

07:42Why not?

07:43I don't think it's ever been done in history, so to be able to share the ring with my daughter

07:47and my son,

07:48it would be something, it's a personal hope or dream of mine, and why not?

07:53This is one of the only times anybody's really been able to make something like that happen.

07:56I think WWE would do well to make that happen.

07:58I think it would be a very special thing for the fans, and I'm going to go against what Rey

08:04said here for something else.

08:05What I've been waiting for for all these years is for a reconciliation with he and Dom.

08:10I really have, and I know a lot of people love Dom as a heel.

08:13If you're going to make Dom the World Heavyweight Champion or the WWE Champion, fine.

08:17Leave him a heel because he's a great heel.

08:18However, if you aren't going to put him in the World Championship picture, having a reconciliation with his father could

08:23be a huge thing.

08:25Because, let's face it, last time he was a babyface, he was still very young in the business.

08:29Did not have the presence to pull off being a babyface, and people were giving him a hard time.

08:34Now, he is so much more polished, so much more refined, puts on great matches.

08:39I think he could really run and soar as a babyface if given the opportunity.

08:44You could always flip him heel again later.

08:45I just, I don't know, something about it.

08:47I'd love to see them, all three of them, in a mixed six-person or mixed trios tag team match.

08:53I just think it would be awesome.

08:54Let's get into it tonight.

08:56Night two of TripleMania 34.

08:59I'm sorry.

09:00This two-night concept and all the action they built into these two days, these were better.

09:07Longer, I should say, and in a lot of ways better than WWE main roster PLEs.

09:11They gave us like six matches per night.

09:13There was some real exciting stuff that happened, stuff that we didn't expect to see happen.

09:18Now, listen.

09:18I understand some people have not been following AAA religiously, so some of what happened tonight you may not be

09:23familiar with.

09:23Or it may not have as much interest in.

09:27But if you're a diehard wrestling fan, there was a lot to be excited about here.

09:30First off, when they opened the match with the Battle Royale, and I don't even know how to pronounce how

09:34they called that Battle Royale.

09:35I apologize in advance for that.

09:38But you have Omos win this thing, and obviously I think that's what made sense because he is supposed to

09:43be that unstoppable force in AAA.

09:46Here's my problem.

09:48A lot of the spots seem repetitive to the last time we saw a Battle Royale-esque type of performance.

09:53I really don't want to see this become like a cut-and-paste carbon copy.

09:58Every time he's in a Battle Royale, he just wins doing the same stuff, and he always ends up with

10:01some guy who's super, super short and all that.

10:04You know, it was fine.

10:04It was entertaining.

10:05I had no problem with the match itself.

10:07I think, obviously, I support him winning.

10:09I'm curious to see if they ever put him into the AAA Mega Championship picture, which I think would be

10:15a great idea for he and whoever the champion is at the end of tonight to get into the ring

10:20and have that match.

10:21But we'll have to wait and see.

10:22But I think Omos is doing good work down there.

10:24I just wish he had a bigger repertoire of moves.

10:27I said that in my last episode for night one.

10:29I think at this point he should have progressed further.

10:31He's got the body.

10:32He's got the athleticism.

10:33You just got to really give him a few moves that aren't just, you know, splashes in the corners and

10:38boots to the face.

10:39We need more than that.

10:40From there, for the AAA Reina de Reyes Championship, basically their Women's World Championship, the champion, Flamere, defending the championship

10:51against La Catalina, and La Catalina wins the championship here.

10:56This is a huge get for her.

10:57This is a young lady who was in CMLL.

11:00Huge get for AAA when she transferred to this company.

11:02I'm sure WWE has her on her radar for eventually making it to the main roster.

11:07But this is a great way to kickstart her AAA career, giving her this championship opportunity against someone who's been

11:13established and been champion for quite a long time.

11:15This was very cool.

11:16Very happy for her.

11:19El Carnicero defeats Psycho Clown in a Mexican street fight.

11:23Here's the thing.

11:24I've seen some pretty violent matches in some of the Mexican wrestling promotions in the past.

11:29This wasn't necessarily that.

11:31But certain things just really get you.

11:33I love when we see the kendo stick basically splinter into pieces.

11:39It's not even a stick anymore.

11:41It's just what it is.

11:44It adds a layer to the brutality of the match.

11:46I think they could have done more.

11:48I really do.

11:48For somebody being a Psycho Clown, you would think they would do something.

11:52Pagano getting involved a little bit as well.

11:55His former tag team partner.

11:56So there was a lot going on here.

11:58But if you don't know the backstory, then you're not really sure who these other people are getting involved and

12:02whatnot.

12:03I thought this was a really great match.

12:04I think it's great to give the win to El Carnicero.

12:07We'll have to see where they go with him.

12:09I think this clearly puts him in a strategic position to potentially be a challenger for the Mega Championship if

12:15they're not going the Omos direction, which we'll get into in a few minutes.

12:19It's Ray Phoenix on the card defending the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship against Jack Cartwheel, Mini Vakingo, and Nathan Frazier.

12:27And a couple things.

12:28One, obviously, anytime I get to see Ray Phoenix perform, it is a blessing.

12:32He is one of the greatest pound-for-pound wrestlers in the world.

12:35Has been for years.

12:36I'm glad WWE is finally letting him do that.

12:38But I've got to say, Jack Cartwheel, it's a matter of time before they've got to bring him to the

12:43main roster.

12:44He's entertaining.

12:45He can do a lot of things.

12:47He's revolutionary movesets, high-risk stuff that's on the long lines of Javon Evans-type stuff.

12:52He is somebody the main roster fans would eat up.

12:55And I don't know how long you leave him down in AAA before you finally bring him up and give

12:59him more to do.

13:00The big thing, shocker for me, now maybe not for you if you're not real familiar with all this previous

13:06AAA experience and even some things from outside AAA,

13:10but the War Raiders came out with an open challenge for the AAA World Tag Team Championship,

13:15and we had no idea who was going to answer this open challenge.

13:17There were reports ahead of time that there were talents potentially going on this show who were not signed to

13:22AAA contracts.

13:23So I was really thinking maybe we had an outside tag team, maybe the Good Brothers, which that would have

13:27been a really nice surprise.

13:28I know they're with MLW, but you never know when those contracts run out.

13:33Anybody.

13:33I would have taken almost anybody.

13:34Just to have a real pop and a surprise, this to me was not a very big surprise.

13:40The arrival of the challengers, the Wagner brothers, El Ijo Day, Dr. Wagner Jr., who is a legendary luchador.

13:47I have no problem with him challenging.

13:48And his real-life brother, Galeno, who, if you haven't seen this guy, this is a 300-plus pound guy,

13:54and he can move.

13:56He did a diving flip over the top rope effortlessly.

14:00Didn't even touch the top rope.

14:01This guy's athletic for a big boy, and the Wagner brothers end up picking up the win and defeating the

14:07War Raiders for the AAA World Tag Team Championship, which is awesome for them.

14:11This brings the War Raiders' long run to an end.

14:13They won those championships way back on SmackDown, I believe.

14:17Actually, it was down in Mexico, but they won them from Berto and Angel Garza, if I remember correctly.

14:22And this was a great reign for them.

14:24Gave them something of relevance to do.

14:26Now maybe they'll go back to the main roster and challenge for the Tag Team Championship.

14:28We'll have to wait and see.

14:30But top to bottom, up to this point, pretty satisfied with the card.

14:35But then we get to the main event.

14:37Dominic Mysterio versus El Grande Americano for the AAA Mega Championship.

14:43And this had so much involved.

14:45Everything down to, like, Dominic taking the belt off and beating El Grande Americano with the belt so bad that

14:51he was blistering and welting right away.

14:53Purple marks all over his back and side and everything else.

14:56This was very physical.

14:57There were so many near falls, so many one-tooth, almost threes, two-and-three-quarters, two-and-seven-eighths.

15:04This was exciting.

15:05There were several times in the match I thought the match might be over.

15:08And then we start getting some interference.

15:09We have JD McDonough come out.

15:11We had the other Americanos come out and chase them to the back.

15:15And there's a dive off the top of the Tron onto a pile of dudes, which I thought was very

15:19solid.

15:20Then you start seeing the other Americanos come down to the ring, Rio and Bravo.

15:25And as they're coming down, here comes Omos.

15:27And now you're like, oh, here comes Omos.

15:28I was going to script the ending of this match.

15:29They go to fight off Omos.

15:31He basically wipes the floor with them.

15:33As he gets to the ring, McDonough has been cleared out.

15:36He's at the back.

15:37Omos comes down.

15:38El Grande Americano dives through the ropes and hits his loaded headbutt on Omos.

15:42And it looked like it might have done something.

15:44He backs up to hit him again.

15:45And he eats a big boot.

15:46And now Omos is getting involved.

15:48He goes to pick him up for another one of those choke slams, just like he did with Rey Mysterio

15:52the other night.

15:53It just wasn't looking good.

15:54But after plenty of effort, they end up eradicating the Omos distraction, getting back into the ring.

16:01It looked like El Grande Americano had things well in hand.

16:03When all of a sudden, as he goes up to the turnbuckle, Liv Morgan appears, the former WWE Women's World

16:09Heavyweight Champion.

16:10She pulls him off the turnbuckle.

16:11Dom ends up taking him down to first 619 into a five-star frog splash.

16:16I'll be honest.

16:17I really thought that was the end of the match.

16:19He won two and at the last second kicked out and eventually essentially hulks up and hits his headbutt again

16:27and pins Dominic Mysterio, crowning a new AAA Mega Champion.

16:32AAA Mega Champion.

16:34And Dom's reign has been going on for so long.

16:38This was an incredible run for Dom Mysterio.

16:40I think it did good things for him down in Mexico.

16:42I question how they're booking him on the main roster.

16:45But at least in Mexico, he's been booked very, very strong.

16:48And now you coronate El Grande Americano, the new hero of the company.

16:53He is so over with the fans in Mexico.

16:56Celebrating with that championship in the ring.

16:58I saw tons of replica championship belts outside the ring.

17:00That just tells you how much influence the WWE and their replica belt collections and things like that.

17:06All this has helped really grow the AAA business.

17:09And I think what the most beautiful thing was of this entire match.

17:13One, the entrance for El Grande Americano was amazing.

17:16At the end of the match, his celebration was amazing.

17:20What I really loved was the mariachi band playing for him at the end of the show.

17:24What an incredible sight.

17:25The fans, people crying in the stands.

17:28And this is a guy who, let's be honest, he's European, making believe that he's Mexican.

17:34That's insane that he's over as much as he is when he's not really what he claims to be.

17:39And the fans don't care because they appreciate his talent.

17:42And I thought that was really beautiful stuff to see.

17:44What a great match.

17:45I can't wait to see what Dave Meltzer's star ratings are on this show because some of the matches I

17:50can easily see him giving a lower star rating to.

17:52But I want to see what he gives for the Mysterio-El Grande Americano match because it had a lot

17:56of the calamity that Dave seems to like in his AEW stuff.

18:00So this is an opportunity he could really give these guys a very strong star rating.

18:04I don't know that it's five stars, but it was pretty darn good.

18:06Overall, the show in general for night two, I'm a four-star guy for this night.

18:12I thought it was pretty solid.

18:13I really did top to bottom.

18:15Not as many crazy shocks and surprises as I wish there were, but that's okay.

18:19You don't always have to have that.

18:21Across the two-night event, I actually thought night one was better except for the last match.

18:26The whole pay-per-view as a whole, the two-night event, easily four to maybe four and a half

18:30stars.

18:31I really believe that.

18:32This was a great, great showing for WWE.

18:34I hope this helps them secure a North American television distribution deal.

18:38That was a big part of why they did one night in Las Vegas.

18:40But at this point in time, we're just going to have to wait and see.
