00:00This is the worst-case scenario, though, for the Patriots,
00:02is losing A.J. Brown, getting him in the offseason,
00:04and now you don't have him, Joe, here for a month.
00:06They traded Booty also.
00:08I was kind of looking to see for myself who the available wide receivers are
00:14for the Patriots, and without A.J. Brown,
00:17initially this was one that they said that could be okay,
00:19maybe he'll miss a week, and now all of a sudden we know he's going to miss
00:21a month of time.
00:23Patriots had that easy schedule, Joe, last year.
00:25They do not have it this year.
00:27I did not think they looked particularly good in week one,
00:29but, again, going to chalk it up to just week one
00:31because I saw the same thing happen last year.
00:33But where do the Patriots go from here at wide receiver?
00:36Well, first of all, anybody who's panicking on Drake May, I would not.
00:39Drake May had a very good season last year,
00:42and he will make do with whatever he's got.
00:44What it's going to mean for this offense is you're going to see Matt Collins
00:46work back in.
00:47You're going to see a little bit more Kyle Williams next week.
00:49You're going to see more of the tight ends as well.
00:51You saw a little bit of Ryritin catching that touchdown,
00:53and you're going to see more of Hunter Henry,
00:54and they're going to manage this through just the way they did last year.
00:57Now, what you really need for this offense to get back on track
00:59is the health of Trevion Henderson
01:01because he gives you that dynamic out of the backfield
01:03where he can catch the football, break a big play.
01:05And the reason he brought A.J. Brown in
01:06is because you didn't have enough playmakers on offense last year.
01:09Romeo Dobbs can't play worse, can he,
01:12than he possibly did on Wednesday night?
01:14So the hope is that he rebounds a little bit.
01:16But great defenses make you do that.
01:18They make you make bad decisions.
01:20They make you look over your shoulder
01:21and drop a ball the way Romeo Dobbs did in space.
01:23They make you push the ball a little bit faster out of your hand
01:27than you want it to be, and that's what happened to Drake May
01:29at the end there of that game
01:30where he's trying to throw that ball out of bounds.
01:32He didn't get it far enough.
01:33Why?
01:33Because that defense is all over you all the time,
01:36and that's what great defenses do.
01:37They force you into those, what, unforced errors and make mistakes.
01:41So credit to the Seahawks defense.
01:43Yeah, the next couple weeks are going to be tough without A.J. Brown,
01:46but once again, it's more of a fantasy manager situation.
01:49There's a real-life issue for the Patriots.
01:50I think the Patriots will still be okay.
01:52But taking Brown out right now,
01:54also you're losing that time to develop more of that continuity
01:58between receiver and quarterback that is so crucial for success.
02:01So it's definitely going to set this team back long-term,
02:03but May I think will still be fine.
02:05The Patriots will still be in a lot of these games.
