00:00uh the aj brown situation because aj brown got hurt too and like you said i mean it looked like
00:05it was broken that looked bad looked like it was uh but aj brown uh he was seen walking out
00:10of the
00:11locker room wearing a boot on his right foot uh mike frable said he had no update regarding
00:16uh his ankle injury post game what do you think uh i hope that he is able to play at
00:25some point
00:25i hope it's not a break because i was looking forward to seeing aj brown in a patriots uniform
00:30i thought he was going to have a huge night and then after the first court i realized he was
00:34not
00:35going to have a huge night because there just seemed to be no connection between him and drake may and
00:40in addition to that it really didn't seem like they had their game plan drawn up to get him the
00:45ball
00:46i thought that we were going to see some true number one you know uh routes setups within the
00:52system to get him the ball and it just didn't appear that way i thought he had a couple of
00:57really good catches but it didn't look like the offense was centered around getting him the ball
01:02which is what i thought they were going to be and so to not see that i found that to
01:07really be kind
01:07of telling and then for him to not even have a second half because of the way he got hurt
01:13i thought
01:14that really really hurt their offense as well yeah you know he he only had three catches for 26 yards
01:19before leaving uh and you know uh romeo dobbs actually uh talked to reporters he said that
01:26aj brown told he said he told us that everything was going to be all right which again you can
01:30read
01:31whatever you want into that i'm sure a lot of guys say that um right but so which injury would
01:37you say worries you more darnold or aj brown oh the darnold injury the hip the hip because i thought
01:44initially it was an ankle on aj brown i'm on uh sam darnold yeah because the way he went down
01:49and the
01:50way he got up it looked more ankle but as they kept you know looking at him took him in
01:55the tent when
01:56he came out the tent his limp was severe and if it is a hip injury on a quarterback those
02:04hip injuries
02:04they don't go anywhere because that's the area where you get hit the most that's the area you fall down
02:09the most as a quarterback and so if he's got some type of hip injury or hip situation that's going
02:14to
02:14hurt his throwing motion that's going to hurt his follow through he's going to be ginger towards that
02:19unless he is injured from something that can't be recovered from 100 percent and i don't know six days
02:26eight days i don't but i don't hips are hips hips are one of those injuries that if you get
02:31them
02:32they're like hamstrings they never go away at all yeah and it looks like he may have avoided a
02:40fracture again they're going to go for second round of testing on sam darnold but in terms of
02:45of aj brown like if he misses time you're going to have to go back to romeo tops as your
02:51your go-to
02:52target and is that ideal i don't think so i now look what it looked like to me after watching
02:58plenty
02:58of injuries in my time watching sports it looked like a high ankle sprain for aj brown and that in
03:03itself is a very tough injury to like like you said it's it's also one of those injuries where
03:09sometimes it's not always right i remember lebron james solomon hill went into his ankle he was never
03:14really the same after now of course he's a freak of nature so he's always good but he he kind
03:19of lost
03:19a step there and a lot of guys that have these high ankle sprains like it lasts the whole the
03:24whole
03:25year like some guys are like hey a broken ankle is better than a high ankle sprain because you could
03:29just get surgery and go ahead i was just about to say oftentimes they say if you get a high
03:34ankle
03:34sprain sometimes it's best to just break it yeah because the the lingeringness of the inner end of
03:39the injury and how it has to be treated and the time a broken ankle you probably have three weeks
03:45maybe a
03:45month with a high ankle sprain you looking at six to eight weeks depending on how severe the high ankle
03:50sprain is and with and again we're speculating as i like to say on my show but in this particular
03:56situation i just thought that it was rough for aj brown to get hurt at that particular time man
04:00it it really did not feel like they were looking for him this really felt like and i i hate
04:06i have
04:06to say this this looked like how he looked on the eagles where he'd catch a pass yeah he'd catch
04:13a pass
04:14and then you wouldn't hear for him for 15 minutes and then he'd catch another pass and then you wouldn't
04:18hear for him that's what this felt like and so i again i really thought that this was a a
04:25really
04:26clear indication that they needed some preseason live reps in game reps with the crowd there with
04:32the stadium there i felt like that's what this team needed that's what the patriots needed and they
04:36just didn't get it yeah and you know do you think that aj brown his absence kind of affected
04:45this patriots offense because going in there's just so much hype and everything and then he's out
04:49and it's like they it looked like they had no idea what to do passing the football from a defensive
04:53perspective i think it did because now they didn't have to shift their defense around it is what it was
04:58what it was we could take the rest of these guys we just need to figure out what they're doing
05:02with
05:02him and once he was gone it went back to last year's super bowl because if you think about it
05:07the first half of that offense while aj brown was out there they were kind of on edge trying to
05:13see
05:13which knew what type of looks they were going to get on defense when he was out they didn't do
05:18anything else after that because at that point now it's the same person that we saw in the super bowl
05:22let's get after it and that's what it looks like
